Third Person's P.O.V.
Exactly 3 minutes have passed since the fall of monsters, and the monsters have already taken down the entire town that Torii was living in. The only thing that was safe in his town was the school. As a matter of fact, the monsters already took 7 towns in just 3 minutes. If you ask me where is Torii, he's hiding in his basement. Well, since he's been good at hiding way back when he is 3 years old, obviously, he won't be found. Yeah, the author can't think of anything so here it is.
The footsteps alone of the monsters are deafening, especially because Torii is underground, he can hear everything. There are still tons of monsters above him, so he can't afford to be reckless and get outside.
'If I end my life right here right now, certainly, it would be boring. Since the world is ending anyway, why not enjoy the last moments of my life?' He thought to himself.
Torii and his family are rich, -- never ask me or him why -- so their basement is ginormous and clean. Clearly, it has great security. Locks, chains, even lasers. You name it all.
However, it still isn't enough. In numbers alone, you can't last a second outside. How much more when it comes to strength. Simply put Torii is an ant fighting hundreds of elephants. If he rashly acted, putting his thoughts aside first, then it's his death. It's not like he doesn't want to be dead though.
Torii was getting bored sitting quietly for like 3-4 minutes. He wanted to fight, regardless of the risks when suddenly, a screen appeared in front of him. It was a hologram, but there was some sort of magic that was controlling it, so no device is needed for it to be shown. Every single person on earth has the exact piece of the live hologram.
The hologram was showing a man wearing a black tuxedo with a white shirt with a turn down collar below it, partnering with a black tie. He was also wearing black tuxedo pants, with black leather shoes. The man was a tall, fair-looking, maybe late twenties man, and he has wavy hair. The man was sitting at a bench in the middle of a forest. Not so long after, the man talked.
"Greetings, Earthlings. I'm... well, let's just say that I'm one of the masterminds of this "thing". Well, I won't say much to make this more exciting. Nevertheless, I have important things to say to all of you. There are 2 main things. First, the world isn't the same thing anymore. Humans aren't on top of the food chain anymore. Even though humans are intelligent, it isn't enough for all of you to get through. Let's say just say that this is doomsday. Positive thing is the second thing. The second thing is about your Flairs. Well, Flairs are your superpowers. We can't have you die in the early stages right? Oops. I think my job here is already done. Bye!" The man hurriedly said.
As the man said farewell, the hologram disappeared like it wasn't there in the first place. Even though the hologram was as loud as a normal man speaking, it didn't seem to bother any of the monsters. When the hologram disappeared, a green screen filled with letters popped up out of thin air in front of all the people. Other people were shocked, some ignored it, but Torii immediately thought about all the novels, mangas, and webtoons that he has read. The moment he saw it, he read it right away.
"Congratulations on surviving the first 10 minutes of the fall! Because of that achievement, you have been gifted with a Flair! Flairs are a single person's superpower. Flairs are unique. Needless to say, not a single person has the same as others. Below is your Flair:
Sound - ability to manipulate, shape, create, mimic, distort, hush, intensify, echo, speed up, slow down, strengthen, and be sound while still having all the senses active.
But! That's not all! Torii Denver, the first person to kill the first monster, you are given a reward! Another Flair is given to you! Below is another one of your Flair:
Botany Copy - the ability to copy any part/s of any type of plants, flowers, trees, etc -- or the botany type itself. The user can choose what part of the body will change, arms, for instance. The user can freely use the copied part as if it was it is the user's real body." The screen noted.
The instance that Torii read the screen, he was thrilled. Never in his life did he thought that this will happen to him -- literally every novel that has this genre has this line. After a few seconds of admiring the given abilities to him, he stood up as he let out a deep breath. Then, he closed his eyes. Albeit there were thousands of thousands of monsters above him, silence won around the whole basement. Slowly, Torii disappeared.
However, a wave not visible to the naked eye moved towards the outside of the basement. Though it was a wave, it stopped on top of all the monsters. The monsters didn't notice anything, continuing to eradicate every single living thing they are seeing. The wave, which was Torii, was amazed at what it saw.
He showed no fear, and instead, continued to wander on top of the monsters. Since there are millions of monsters, even though almost all of them already have left the city that Torii was living in, there were still a few thousand left roaming around the city. Most of them were tolerable enough for them to be killed by humans, but the sheer numbers alone were hard enough, how much more when it comes to high leveled beasts and monsters that are still in this city.
Nevertheless, none of those mattered to Torii. With anger, he wanted to eradicate all the monsters, but first, he wanted to take a look at his ex-best friend. At the speed of sound, he immediately got into the school. He took a peek at what was happening in the school, and when he saw was disunity and chaos, he laughed at his mind. Well, unconsciously.
Even so, when he saw his friend, regardless of what happened earlier, he felt pity towards him. Though, he shrugged it off, glimpses of what happened earlier directly affected his mind. Hostilely, he left, going to exactly where he went earlier.
When he was where he was earlier, -- what in the world author -- he could not control his feelings. Seeing the whole school struggle sure is a sight for him, but when he saw his ex-best friend, he wondered whether he save him or not. He does hold a grudge against him, but in his mind, he wanted to be more thrilled. Oh. To correct you, Torii is not a hero or anything. In fact, he never thought of himself that way.
However, he knows for a fact that in order to survive longer, he needs the strength of others. Since Torii's friend is a great fighter ever since they were kids, he will be a big help. Simply put that his friend is the strength and he is the brains. Nevertheless, trust is more important. Though it does not mean that his friend doesn't owe him a sincere apology, putting every single matter aside, this surely is a wise choice. Unless his friend turned into a very different person, that is.
After a few seconds of immense thinking, Torii finally decided.
'I need him for me to survive. But if he doesn't give me a sincere apology and continue being a fool, I will make sure to erase him'
