Chereads / Drawn to Life / Chapter 2 - [Legacy of the Mind]

Chapter 2 - [Legacy of the Mind]

[administrator]

Hello children of man. I know that many of you are confused at the moment so I'll get straight to the point.

Earth, as you know it, has finally evolved into a level 5 world. In other words, Earth is now viable to enter the Universal Grounds.

-

If you are wondering what the Universal Grounds is, a simple way of describing it is as an interdimensional battlefield that fields high quality resources needed in enriching and strengthening a world.

Hence, many worlds mount expeditions into the interdimensional field in hopes of increasing their power in the known universe.

-

Now, this is both a blessing and a curse.

-

It's a blessing for the fact that Earth is now able to advance into a higher stage of existence.

By gathering enough resources in the Universal Grounds, we should be able to advance into a new age for Earth.

-

But...

-

We're officially exposed to the universe. Before, we had been hidden from their eyes... but now, it is no longer possible.

-

Hence, I decided to force the residence of Earth to evolve. It is up to you how you are going to use this power.

For good, for evil... I don't care how you use it. I just need enough of the population to be alive and strong enough to fend off our would be invaders.

Hence, an epic battle royale will now commence. Hopefully, I'll have strong defenders by the end of it.

-

Well, that should be all for now. Good luck humankind...

-

You're going to need it.

-

P.S. I suggest finding the champions of your world. With their powers, they're capable of ensuring your survival.

-

P.S.S. If you're wondering... yes, you can kill a higher being and take over their positions. That also includes me. So, if that's your cup of tea, look over the system notice and see the positions that are currently taken. Just know, if you have thoughts of doing this, we will not sit idly by. Toodles!

-

I was dazed at the message in front of me. Universal Grounds? Administrator? Invaders?

What in the world was this? Some fantasy novel that a random guy made online?

-

"Milord, we must prepare. I sense that the world is finally reaching its peak."

"What do you mean?"

-

I asked the knight as my eyes couldn't help but stare at her beautiful figure. I still couldn't believe that the girl I drew would be standing right in front of me.

Some part of my brain refused to believe it... but I could not deny the fact that she was real.

-

"This world is finalizing its state of being. Soon, reality as you know it will change and monsters will be unleashed upon the world. The world you know of will cease to exist..."

-

Well shit... that doesn't sound good. Suddenly, I felt my stomach lurch as the world around me seemed to shift.

It lasted for a second but it was enough to knock me back to the ground. Thankfully, I had already been on the ground as surprise after surprise kept me from standing up.

-

Still, it really wasn't a good feeling and I was sure I wasn't the only one that felt it. Alarms began to blare as explosions and screams began to echo outside my room.

I made my way to the window and took a peek outside. Chaos... pure and utter chaos. People were running in every direction.

Not only that, monstrosities of every kind could be seen preying upon them.

-

Some people were able to utilize their new gifts and tried to fight back.

They were too weak though and only ended up as some monsters snack.

-

"Milord, I suggest you use your new gifts to better increase our chances."

"I... yeah, you're right... but, my gifts? What gifts?"

"Your gift of creation milord. I do not know much about it, just rudimentary information as your loyal summon. But, from the information I received, you are capable of drawing things into existence."

-

That... sounded broken. If that feature was in a game, I would have nerfed it hard as a game developer.

Still, it sounded interesting. I guess it's time for me to try it out. I look back at the sketchbook I had. I wonder...

-

"First, do you mind if I called you Alene? It would be faster if I just called you with a nickname."

-

The knight seemed dazed for a moment before a full bloomed smile appeared on her face. It wasn't a lie to say that she was one of the most beautiful girls I'd ever seen.

Then again, it could be that her appearance simply matched my taste seeing that I was the one who created her.

-

"I happily accept milord."

"Nice to hear... now, about my gifts. Do you know if there's any set parameters that I need to do for it to activate?"

"I'm sorry milord, but I do not know."

-

She shook her head and gave a downcast look. I immediately comforted her and told her it was fine considering that even I didn't knew much about my own ability.

As for me, many possibilities began flooding my mind.

-

I couldn't help but feel excited. Yes, we were handed a shitty hand. Yes, many bad things were happening all around me... but, I had a chance of fighting back.

I had nothing to hold me back considering I had no living relatives left on this world. Close friends? Well, I have a couple. Hopefully they're doing ok...

-

Actually, no. I'm pretty sure they're doing better than ok considering its those two.

-

...

-

Anyway, let's try some things out. With a pencil in hand, I made my way to my sketchbook. I then began to draw an ornate border close to the edges of the paper.

I then designed it a bit more before an image of mirror could be seen. On that mirror, I also drew a small box with the words status in it.

I then looked at my finished work, proud of what I had drawn... but nothing happened.

-

Hmm... I was really hoping it would work. Unless...

-

I ripped out the page and started again. Only, I thought about the intention of what I wanted from the drawing.

Basically, I wanted a page in my sketchbook that will show me my status whenever I pressed the button.

Not only that, I wanted it to show the list of skills that currently possessed. This time I felt a change.

-

With each stroke of my pencil, I felt something some kind of energy leave my body and form underneath the tip of my pencil.

With the final stroke, a blind light illuminated my room but quickly receded. I stared at the page in front of me. It was still confined in the page of my sketchbook, but...

-

"It worked, I can't believe it worked!"

"Wonderful milord! You truly are amazing!"

-

Alene and I celebrated as the image of an ornate golden mirror could be seen.

On the panel, several boxes contained an option for seeing a person's stats, titles, skills, equipment and inventory. It even had a map function.

-

"Milord, if I may?"

"Sure, seeing that you have full grasp of the skills you have right?"

-

She nodded. She then looked straight at the mirror and clicked the stats page.

-

"Huh?"

-

Nothing happened. That was surprising. I switched with her and did the same. All of a sudden, a blue box appeared.

-

Name: Alec Villanueva

Occupation: Champion

Race: High Human

Age: 23

Height: 5.9 feet

System: [Legacy of the Mind], [???]

Level: 1

Health: 121/121

Mana: 48/50

Strength: 4

Intellect: 6

...

-

There were many things written on this box but only one caught my eyes.

-

"champion..."

-

Yeah... that's not good. I could already sense the many problems I was going to have with that title. It's definitely painting a target on his back for those who want power.

Well, it's a problem in the future. For now, let's think about the present.

-

Hmm...

-

[Legacy of the mind]. I instantly clicked on it, hoping that it would give me a description of it.

[Legacy of the mind: As the holder of this system, you are able to create any living or nonliving item]

-

... That's it? That's all its going to tell me? I mean, at least I know what my system is called but come on.

Couldn't you tell me more information than what I already know?

With a sigh, I looked at my other stats.

-

I really had nothing to compare them, so I really couldn't tell if it was trash or good. Wait. I noticed a panel on a corner of the mirror.

I clicked it and soon, a new page appeared. Before I could click on it though, a blue panel appeared in front of me.

-

[Administrator]

Well... that was unexpected. Didn't think that anyone was capable of cheating their way to their second system. Ah, but where are my manners. Introductions should be in order.

-

Ahem

-

The names Michael, the angel primarch, sole administrator of Earth.

-

It's nice to meet you, champion.
