Chereads / Drawn to Life / Chapter 3 - [Peerage]

Chapter 3 - [Peerage]

[Administrator]

Ok, lets get straight to the point. Again, it was very unexpected for you to instantly unlock your second system.

I had it set to be accessible to everyone in the second phase of the Earth's evolution... but, this just proved to me that plans can't really be set in stone.

-

So, as the first person to unlock your second system, I'll answer three of your questions... well, important questions.

-

First question, how do I use [Legacy of the mind]?

-

Simple, you draw out the image with the intent of having it exist.

Basically, your intent is what guides the mana from your body to medium you use to create.

The stronger your intent, the more functional or stronger the creation.

-

Second question, what is my second system?

-

Well, let me explain how you unlocked it first.

You basically created a tablet that could bypass every restriction I placed in each person.

By doing so, you now have straight access to all functions of the system instead of having to unlock it piece by piece like the others.

-

Hence, you immediately found access to your second system, [Peerage].

Now, everyone's going to have this type of system in the near future and its heavily influenced by how you survived in the initial transformation of Earth.

-

Yours, for example, is called [Peerage] due to the fact that your first creation was a knight of the crusade. By the way, good job with her design.

Frankly, I'm tempted to steal her from you and have her lead another branch of my war angels.

But, she's your first creation, so I'm not going to do that to you.

-

Back to the explanation, [Peerage] is heavily linked towards the middle ages. It allows you to see your subordinates and assign them roles, equipment and stats.

Not only that, the system utilizes a mercenary component.

Basically, you receive a book that has information about certain unit types. For example, I want you to look at your status.

-

***************************

I stared at the message looking to see if there was more, but I saw nothing else. It really just ended like that.

Is that really all of the message?

Where's the rest of it?

Suddenly, another blue panel appeared.

-

***************************

[Administrator]

Look, its better if you don't act dumb and just look at your inventory.

Do you want explanations or not?

-

***************************

Fair point.

-

I quickly opened up the inventory tab. As soon as I got there, I received another prompt telling me to click the book slot.

From there, nothing really was present except for one slot that held the picture of a book with horse on it.

-

***************************

[Administrator]

That will be my gift to your subordinate. I want you to click it and equip it to her.

-

***************************

I immediately followed his direction and equipped it to Alene.

-

***************************

[Administrator]

Good, with that, I'll have you head outside.

It'll be good to earn some combat experience as I further explain the function of your newest system.

-

***************************

Huh? wait...!

-

That was all I got out as I suddenly felt the world spin around me. Then, I heard a loud pop and all of sudden, I was standing in a park.

It was almost a flat plain with trees covering most of the outer areas of the place.

-

Some of the trees seemed to have fallen with large gashes at the base of the trees.

Then further back, I saw them. Dark shadowy monstrosities that took shape of a large wolf with red glaring eyes.

-

Well... this doesn't look good.

-

[Administrator]

Before you start spacing out, I need you to activate the [Peerage] system.

It should be right in the new systems tab in your tablet.

.

.

.

Will you calm down a bit and press the tab already? There we go, was that so hard?

-

***************************

I fumbled through my sketchbook as I went back to the page with the mirror.

From there, it took me a while to press the systems as my fingers kept hitting the other tabs much to the annoyance of the administrator.

-

Once I pressed it, a bright light engulfed Alene and once it receded, I was faced with an amazing sight. She now rode atop a red stallion fitted with armor and heraldic colors of the Teutonic order.

Not only that, now ten other riders could be seen, all sporting the same colors as Alene with lances at the ready.

-

"Awaiting orders milady!"

-

The lead knight said with professionalism oozing from her soft yet authoritative voice.

As amusing as Alene's surprised look was, I needed to focus on the administrator's message to get as much information as I can about my new system.

-

[Administrator]

As you can see, each book summons a set of spirits that each of your commanders or I suppose, creations, could boss around.

Each book has a complete set of units you can use with further subgroups for each type of unit.

-

For example, your current creation is capable of leading a cavalry unit named [Roses of the Order].

She's capable of using skills limited to that specific group and its up to her to experiment with their capabilities.

-

Furthermore, with experience, your capable of upgrading said book for each of your creation. This allows you to increase their health, attack, defense, numbers, etc...

-

Now, why don't you have her try it out. Send her forth and enjoy the show.

-

***************************

This... was a lot for my brain to process. Everything was moving way too fast to my liking.

Didn't novels take time to explain everything before being placed into the thick of it?

-

***************************

[Administrator]

Sorry to say, this isn't one of your fictions. This is reality... your new reality.

Now, I suggest sending your girls out, considering that monsters will soon be coming for your deliciously mana enriched body.

-

***************************

I couldn't help but shake from his words. Ok, yeah. I really don't want that to happen. Action first, think later.

-

"Well, might as well try it out Alene. You should be able to lead them. Why not go for those monsters over there?"

"With pleasure milord!"

-

She then took the reigns of her horse and with a loud 'hya!' charged at the incoming monsters.

The knights followed after her without a need to be ordered, their lances high in the air with one holding a lance with the troops color.

-

Then, with a shout, another shield materialized from Alene's left shoulder while a lance materialized from her right hand.

She lowered it in a couched position and instantly skewered a wolf that had tried to jump at her.

-

Her knights followed along, skewering the monsters at the front which broke their lances.

Worthless to them, they discarded the broken pieces of wood and pulled out their swords.

The wolfs were no match as the knights completely hacked their way through the pack.

-

Alene herself was impressive as she stabbed, dodged and sliced her way through the monstrosities.

Even her mount showed its fiery spirit as it kicked, dodged and pushed at the monsters surrounding them.

-

It was honestly beautiful.

-

[Administrator]

Well, its about time for me to wrap this up. Your last question, what now?

-

Well that's simple. Fight, survive, live. Who knows, make some friends. Get a girlfriend or two.

But, all in all. Get strong. In this new world, only the strong lives while the weak will perish.

-

Now, that should be all the questions, but I'll give you a freebie. A little tip really.

-

Only one from each system may live. There's a total of twenty different systems with five champions per system. Only one person from each system can live by the end of the Earth's first evolution process.

-

With that, toodles. This just may be the last time we talk... unless, you know...

-

You decided to come for my position.

-

Anyway, good luck.

-

p.s. If you're wondering how I knew you'd ask the three questions, well, I mean... it's self explanatory as I am the administrator of this world.

-

***************************

Yeah, I'm definitely not thinking of doing any of that, I thought as I finished reading through the administrators message.

I sighed as I stared at knights in front of me. What was I going to do with them. Resource wise, I'm pretty sure I won't have enough food for them.

Hell, I live in a one room apartment. Where were the girls going to stay?

-

Then, it hit me. If they were spirits summoned by the book, couldn't I just have Alene unsummon them?

I immediately had her test this out only to find that it didn't work. Welp, there goes that. How was I supposed to feed ten spirits? Hell, how do they even eat?

-

"Umm... milord, if I may."

-

Then, the lead knight approached me and explained that they were summoned through the [Peerage] system.

As long as I had it disabled, then I can unsummon any units that my creations would use.

Though, the only catch is that the leader of each unit couldn't be unsummoned.

-

Well, it was better having one than ten others. Plus, an extra helping hand could be helpful and manageable at the same time.

But, before we continued, I activated the [Peerage] system again.

-

"Let's get out of here. Better to have all of you summoned since we know nothing about the world around us."

-

""Your will be done!""

-

Ok, that is weird. I wonder if I can somehow have them learn modern lingo.

Well, one thing at a time. First, back to my apartment.

I need a safe place to come up with a plan.
