After supper, Airiana headed for the back door. "Air!" Alyson yelled after her.
"Yeah?" Airiana yelled back.
"Do you want to play a game with us?"
"I would love to, but I need some space."
"Okay, hon."
Airiana walked outside, breathing in the cool night air. She looked up. The stars twinkled and the trees danced to a light breeze. So romantic yet so creepy…I wonder why. Airiana wondered for a moment who her future romantic interest would be. He is going to be absolutely perfect. She thought wistfully. The wind blew harder pushing Airiana in one direction it seemed to push Airiana into the woods. Airiana followed it, not really in her right mind but as if in a trance. Her heart started to race as she realized what her body was doing. The ground was lit very dimly by the moon hidden behind a cloud. The trees made the path in front of her pitch black.
Airiana did not know exactly where she was but one thing she did know, she was heading towards the graveyard. Airiana gasped. I swear, I heard something move! The wind stopped pushing her and Airiana looked around with wide eyes, her breath catching in her throat, struggling to see in the darkness.
Something growled.
Is it a bear? No, it couldn't be, it sounds like nothing I've ever heard before! She saw yellow eyes stare back at her from the bushes and they blinked. Airiana bolted away from it but more yellow eyes appeared. She gasped, breathing hard and her heart raced as she ducked underneath branches, yellow eyes appearing before her out of nowhere, still leading her to the graveyard.
She had made it to the pine tree field, and she kept running as unseen forces growled and sneered at her. Please make them go away! Please make them go away! She prayed fervently. She finally came to a clearing… the graveyard. Oh Lord, no!
A full moon came out from behind the clouds.
It was quiet, no eyes or creatures were here. It was a moment of peace but one Airiana knew was not going to last for long. "OOF!" She gasped as she suddenly was knocked over, sharp pains in her back. She rolled over and stared in horror at what could only be described as a zombie stood over her holding a spear. Rotten flesh hung off its face with big gaping eye sockets. The smell was indescribable. Airiana touched her back but did not feel any blood. It sure felt like she had gotten stabbed though.
Airiana lifted her hands, feeling lightheaded as if in a trance again like she did that day in school. Two small flames of blue and white light appeared in her hands.
Zombies suddenly punched through the dirt by their graves, pushing themselves out of the ground. The zombie standing over Airiana put his hand over her flame quenching the pure fire. "We're too strong for that." it rasped. "This time we're going to kill you."
Airiana spread her hands again and made another flame, watching the zombie flinch. The others were out of their graves by now and charging at her, each one brandishing weapons of knives and spears. Airiana threw the flame at the zombie before her and it cried out in pain trying to beat off the pure fire that started to envelope its body. Airiana stood up and started throwing flames at the zombies but there was too many of them. Some of their weapons had struck her and she cried out in pain.
Airiana moved like lightning throwing balls of fire to the left and to the right, the flames reappearing in her hands every time she outstretched them, unsure of how she was even making them. The zombies she hit screamed hideous screams of pain, drowning in the blue fire and eventually dissolved into piles of mist. But there were ten zombies left that were not intent on giving up despite the carnage.
One cut her in the shoulder. "AHH!" Airiana screamed, the pain feeling like raw fire deep into her shoulder blade. She felt her hair pull tightly and a blade upon her throat. She was trapped in a headlock and the other monsters stopped their advances to stare at the zombie who held her in his death grip. "Now… you die,"
Its voice was familiar. It sounds like… DRAKE! Airiana couldn't help but gasp. Airiana suddenly fell to the ground as the zombie let go of her hair and pushed her. She rubbed her sore head, confused.
A tall man wearing a light gray robe with a hood, held a decent sized sword and had sliced the zombie in two and the zombie melted into the ground turning into dirt. His body was big and built and all she could see was his square jawline, light facial hair and full lips.
Suddenly she felt exhausted and watched the battle proceed through peeking through her fingers, trying to control her breathing while tears slipped down her cheeks. One zombie tried to charge her and slice her in the side, but the hooded man was too quick, easily blocking his blow and cutting his sword through the monster. Another one jumped up intending to stab her through her brain, but the hooded man jumped over Airiana matching his blow, cutting the monster down. His sword gleamed in the moonlight with how fast he was moving. Suddenly there was no more monsters and he grabbed Airiana's hand, helping her to her feet. She leaned against him, hugging him, feeling safe in his arms.
There was a moment of complete silence, Airiana hugging him and he held her against him tightly. It was just the two of them, the last of the crickets chirping. Airiana looked up, only seeing his full lips, wishing she could pull his hood back and look into his eyes. "Who are you?" she whispered.
He grabbed her hand and brought it to his lips, kissing it and then he disappeared.
Airiana stood still, listening to the cricket's sing, not believing her eyes. Oh my gosh! I just saw an angel! Airiana looked around, not knowing if it were all a dream or if more zombies would rise out of their graves. She frowned as the moonlight glinted off a big headstone. She walked towards it, her footsteps crunching on the crisp ground below. The big headstone said Howard and behind it was a mausoleum. Howard... She slowly walked up the steps and opened the door. She paused in the doorway, peeking her head in before stepping inside. She felt the cold deep in her soul and shivered, rubbing her arms, hugging herself. Inside the mausoleum were coffins, there were also tombs built into the walls. She walked by the coffins looking down at the names etched on top of them in gold plating. She stopped walking when she saw Drake Howard. She held her breath and slowly opened the lid. Inside lay Drake sleeping, his arms crossed like a mummy. Airiana exhaled, her small breath sounding loud like a gush of wind in the forest. Drake's eyes opened, glowing red, staring into Airiana's frightened crystal blue gaze. Like a frightened bird, she ran like hell out of the mausoleum and ran back to her house.

When Airiana entered the house, Bach stared at her with wide eyes. "What happened to you?"
Airiana was breathing heavily and her hair was a mess. "Nothing," she stomped into her bedroom.
"Well SOMETHING must've happened! You look like shit." he exclaimed, following her into her room.
Airiana smirked, "Huh! Thanks!"
"Well sorry, gosh."
"Just don't go outside, okay?"
Bach gave her a weird look. "Ooookay?"
Airiana fell down exhausted on her bed, the air leaving her lungs with an exasperated sigh when her back fell onto her blankets.
Bach smiled mischievously, "Do you think you'd ever go out with me?"
"What the fuck?! I'm your SISTER!"
"Foster sister," he stated nonchalantly.
"I don't give a shit! I just met you and I don't like you already!" Airiana sat up, glaring at him.
Bach pouted. "That's evident. I was just joking."
"Ugh and your stupid accent." Airiana muttered. Bach raised an eyebrow at her. She pointed at the door. "GET OUT OF MY ROOM!"
"Geez, you don't need to yell." and Bach left, slamming the door behind him.
