The countryside wasn't as bad and boring as Alice thought it would be, she got accustomed to the village which had no more than five hundred people residing in it. It was cold but normal for a highland place in the North part of Europe. The smell of dung and wet mud bothered her at first but in time she got over it and started to find it as the daily part of her routine.
Hawaii had compelled construction workers to build for them a house made up of logs and dry wood ─ like a typical farm house and they had a heater inside and a fire place to keep them warm at night. Outside of the house there was another house but this one was more like a barn and they kept a flock of cattle which Hawaii always looked after ─ he fed them, fetch for them grass and milked them while Alice paid attention to her own small garden outside.
