Out of everyone it was Nina who was having a hard time seeing Gladys buried deep into a tub filled with ice, she wept everyday for the whole week ever since the incident happened and she would weep more whenever she paid a visit to the basement where they kept her for safe keeping. Gladys was alive but she wasn't living, the hex nearly had her whole body and soul before she was saved by Amiya and Regina, although she was still unconscious and it pained Nina to see her like that.
Jeremiah came to take his son after the incident but he didn't leave with the Hades blade, he was specifically told the blade stays so he had to find his own ways of keeping Hussein down while they travel back to Joroffs city. It may have seemed safe for a while but nothing was yet safe to be put clearly.
