Zaiden was confused himself upon the impulsive reaction. He didn't intend to feed on her blood but since Anna was injured, the smell of blood attracted Zaiden. The vampires were taught to control their blood thirst. It was another thing that they were prone to heal immediately and effortlessly.
Upon hearing Zaiden's voice Anna was free from the spell and she ran towards the academy. She had never seen any such spell, whatever Zaiden used was directly connected to his Noble blood group. Anna could feel fright within the deepest layers of her skin, she used her super speed to reach to sneak away

"Does everyone have the ability to mark others?"
Zaiden needed to figure how common was his blunder among the vampires. He was already a traitor in kingdom Xandaya, welcoming another trouble was equivalent to death.

'It implies that I should never make Anna follow my orders. If somebody got to know about this another hassle will arrive.'
Zaiden looked around to see the mess his power surge had created. Another similar black circle was crafted on the ground. Zaiden' chaotic element was leaving its markings. It wasn't hard to figure out what his element was. Master Michal had covered his previous blunder of leaving the demonic signature rune behind.
On the other hand Anna rushed to her father, but stopped at the office door. She had only one dream to stand atop of the other disciples. Anna wanted to be the most powerful among class A vampires. Her wish required her to be with the people having same potential.
She wisely refrained from telling on Zaiden since he was the only one up to her par in strength. Anna acknowledged she could cling to Zaiden and learn more. Master Michal had been favoring him, since he brought Zaiden and Ellen.
On the very night Zaiden was in his dorm and encountered Ellen. She had been attending the classes related to her blood group. Zaiden and Ellen barely got to talk ever since he started to hang out with Anna. Undoubtedly both of the girls' families had a class difference, and they couldn't suppress the obvious hatred for each other.
The sole reason why they befriended was to use him as their punching bag. Belonging to kingdom Xandaya he was unworthy, but upon seeing the favours from master Michal they changed their minds. Ellen wanted to learn the spells which the demon taught Zaiden, while Anna was determined to train him as her potential opponent.
Ellen was taking her evening nap when Zaiden reached the room. He could sense that things had gotten tensed between them. Anna's intervention with Zaiden caused a cold war between them. Both of the girls expected that if something happened to Zaiden, no one would bother to attend his case to bring justice. Belonging to the weakest kingdom was his curse and blessing.
"How's it going with Anna? Did you guys manage to increase power level?"
Ellen inquired in jealousy suspecting that Zaiden might have surpassed her. That would leave her behind in the waiting queue. Zaiden smiled briefly acknowledging she awaited for him to show up for a chit chat.
"Not yet, we still are on the same level."
He didn't let his actual question surface during that chat. Zaiden wanted to trick her into informing him about the ways to increase it. Ellen' expressions changed and she switched the topic to the announcement they heard in the afternoon.
"How do you think they will choose the sparring partners tomorrow?"'
Zaiden was curious about the extra classes. The vampires require mental and physical strength to excel the levels. Till now Zaiden only knew about the types of elements and powers he could possess. There were a few things to master before a vampire could unlock the fuller potential of their element.
He clicked on the small box in the corner of his right eye using the subconscious power. Zaiden plopped in the bed which began to sooth and massage his muscles. The technology in the Solarian kingdom was a utopian dream for Xandaya. Zaiden' room was a small cellar among all the other hundred accommodations.

Zaiden couldn't understand how his attunement level was 25% already. But the options irked him to explore his weaknesses. Since the current level was not an achievement for him unlike most disciples. He turned his head to reply Ellen with the addition of a query.
"I don't know, but I'm willing to be paired up with you."
Ellen was elated to hear that he preferred her over Anna. Unknown to her he wanted to avoid Anna for obvious reasons after marking her. Zaiden had to remain within the premises to learn under the guidance. The students were supposed to be paired up and get tested again to see their stats after one week's progress. Curtis finally found a clue about blood clover, which he overheard from a professor.
