Chereads / Annie Grey / Chapter 378 - Way of life

Chapter 378 - Way of life

"Good, we are all on the same page now" said Curtis.

"Unfortunately" said Maddie as she groaned and Annie looked at her as she smiled, she did not like this any much more than Maddie did, but well what could they do? They were already here, and turning back now would be just an utter waste of time, and apart from that, they would still have the uncertainty of if going to Caligo would actually bring back Annie's powers or not.

"Oh come on cheer up grouchy this will be a new experience" said Ollie as he smiled, he looked rather way too happy and chill for Maddie's liking.

"This is not a new experience that you should be happy to embrace" said Maddie as she sighed, she was just so tired of everything, of everyone especially of Curtis, who wasn't making this easy at all.

"Oh liven up a little Maddie" said Ollie as Maddie scoffed at him.

"Let's go now, the mist is almost setting in" said Curtis as he started to walk.

"To think that these are the few minutes of magic that I have left, no offence Annie" said Maddie as she looked at Annie as they walked side by side behind Curtis while Ollie and Matt were walking behind them.

"None taken, I get you" said Annie as she laughed even though it was not funny at all, to think that in a matter of moments they would all be powerless, it was actually very scary.

They all relied heavily on Magic, it was a way of life, so for it to now be taken way sudden, it definitely would take some getting used to, well Annie was already used to it, there was no ounce of magic in her bones at all, but well for Maddie, Matt and Ollie, she was sure that it would be hard to adjust.

"*Sigh*, oh sweet world, this is the worst thing that will ever happen to me" said Maddie to herself as she sighed.

Maddie noticed that Matt had been awfully quiet, she could tell that he was upset.

"Hey Matt, how do you feel about all this?" asked Maddie as she turned to look at Matt who was still carrying all their bags by the way.

"I mean, there is nothing to feel, we are already in it aren't we?" asked Matt as he did not seem to be bothered by this at all.

"Of course that is easy for you to say, you will still have some powers" said Maddie as she groaned.

"What do you mean?" asked Ollie as he looked confused, he wondered what Maddie was talking about.

"Well of course Matt will still have his vampire powers, which is lucky for him" said Maddie as she scoffed, she wished that she was a vampire now, she was sure that the only reason that Matt did not seem fazed about this at all was because he still had his vampire powers.

He would still have his strength, agility, and of course his hearing, so he was basically their ultimate survival guide at this point.

"Wait, you have Vampire powers?" asked Ollie in shock as he stopped walking and he turned to look at Matt.

"Yes" replied Matt plainly.

"How come?" asked Ollie as he still looked in shock.

"Well I am half vampire after all" said Matt.

"Wait, so you are telling me that you have witch powers, as well vampire powers?" asked Ollie.

"Mhmm" replied Matt.

"Oh my guy, you are so cool, so, so cool" said Ollie as he laughed, this was awesome, he knew an actual real life hybrid, now that explained the vampire scent that Matt had, Ollie had thought that maybe it was because he was half vampire, that was why he smelt like one.

But he could never think that Matt actually had vampire powers, that was so cool, Ollie did not even notice, maybe it was because Mat had no features of a vampire, he had no fangs, no red eyes, he was perfectly balanced.

"Yes, Matt is cool" said Maddie as she smiled and Annie laughed as Ollie started walking again.

"How does it feel to be half vampire, and half witch?" asked Ollie as he walked beside Matt.

"Normal" replied Matt plainly, he really was not in the mood for talking right now, especially if it meant talking to this guy who annoyed him so much with his forwardness, and intentions.

"Do you have super hearing?" asked Ollie.

"Yes" said Matt.

"What's your hearing range?" asked Ollie.

"I don't know, it depends" said Matt.

"On what?" asked Ollie.

"If I focus hard or not" said Matt.

"Cool" said Ollie as he looked like he had found some sort of treasure map.

"How sensitive is your hearing?" asked Ollie as he smiled.

"Very sensitive" replied Matt.

"On a scale of one to ten?" asked Ollie.

"Ten, I can pick up very subtle sounds, even sounds of animals around" said Matt.

"Awesome" said Ollie.

"So does that mean that you can hear our heartbeats?" asked Ollie.

"Yes, but I am not focusing on them right now" said Matt as he replied, he hoped that Ollie would run out of questions and leave him alone, but well, he did not know Ollie at all, he had piqued his interest already, and there was no way Ollie was going to leave him alone again.

"Can you turn off your hearing?" asked Ollie.

"No, I cannot" said Matt.

"Can you hear no matter what?" asked Ollie.

"Not really, barrier spells block my hearing" said Matt.

"Oh poor Matt, he is too nice to stop answering the questions of that blondie" said Maddie as she looked at Annie and Annie just laughed, she found Ollie asking Matt so many questions cute.

"So can you still hear things when you are asleep?" asked Ollie.

"No, my hearing shuts down when I sleep" said Matt.

"This Is so cool" said Ollie once again, he was friends with a perfect breed of both races, he felt honoured and yet at the same time intimidated, he wondered how sparring with Matt would be.

"How strong are you?" asked Ollie.

"I don't know" replied Matt, he had never really measured his strength before.

"But you are carrying all those bags that are heavy" said Ollie.

"They don't feel that heavy" said Matt.

"Fascinating" said Ollie as if he was looking as some exquisite merchandise, now it all made more sense to him, before he had thought that maybe Matt had casted a weightless spell on the bags, but now he knew that he was just carrying them all normally, it was so cool.

"How fast are you?" asked Ollie.

"Depends on how much I try" said Matt.

"Interesting" said Ollie as he smiled.

"Have you ever measured how fast you are?" asked Ollie.

"Yes, with my dad, but we were just playing around then" said Matt.

"Wait, so do you have any boundaries? I mean, how do you balance your witch side with your vampire side?" asked Ollie as he was very curious.

"No, and I don't" replied Matt as Curtis took a pause as he bent down and he touched the ground as it was moist, the mist was well on its way.

Curtis stood up as he continued walking on, they were almost to their destination for today.

"So you can easily use your vampire and witch side both at the same time?" asked Ollie.

"Yes, I can" said Matt.

"Which side did you discover first?" asked Ollie.

"My Vampire side" said Matt.

"And then you got your witch side?" asked Ollie.

"Yes" replied Matt.

"So is it easy for you to cast spells?" asked Ollie as now he regretted not doing enough research on Matt as he did on Annie and Maddie, they were all just so interesting, but Matt was the most interesting by far, he was like the most sought after being in the entire realms.

Perfect Half Vampire, half witch breeds did not exist, and that was for a good reason, those who had evil intentions used the blood of the half breeds to create dangerous poisons to both races, and that was one of the reasons apart from sentiment why different races were not allowed to marry legally.

"Yes it is" said Matt.

"Guy, you are so cool, we need to test your powers" said Ollie.

"No thank you" said Matt very seriously.

"Well of course, next time then" said Ollie as he smiled, he was in no rush at all, they had more than enough time to become great friends with his new male friend Matt who also happened to be half vampire, Ollie could not wait to tell his parents, he was learning a lot, and he had only been here for a few hours.

"He is way too enthusiastic about this" said Maddie as she shook her head.

"I can hear your grouchy, and yes I am, can you blame me?" asked Ollie as he smiled and Maddie just scoffed.
