"He wants us to do that?" asked Curtis as he looked at Stella as he was in her office with her as she sat across her desk.
"Yes he does" said Stella as she sighed and she stood up as she stretched she had been in her office all day, sitting down, she needed to stretch her back, she was not as young as she used to be.
"Hmm" said Curtis as he seemed to be thinking.
"You don't trust him do you?" asked Stella as she walked around her office and she looked at Curtis as he was still sitting down.
"I don't trust anyone… it is best to not… you know that" said Curtis as he looked at Stella, she of all people should know that trust was not something to just be given out on every whim.
"Mhmm yes I do, but you know that they are my superiors, they put me in this position, and I believe that they should have no ulterior motive" said Stella as she smiled and she sat down on the couch in her office as she used her right hand to rub the back of her neck.
"Hmm" said Curtis as he did not say much.
"So what do you think?" asked Stella as she opened her eyes and she looked at Curtis.
"Well we don't have a chance to decline do we?" asked Curtis as that was the first question he asked.
"No… you know how they are… I doubt declining is an option" said Stella as she smiled.
"What do you think?" asked Curtis as he looked at Stella.
"Well I trust them, who won't?" asked Stella.
"And you should know that they are better than the rest… they do not necessarily have anything against Annie" said Stella.
"I know all that" said Curtis.
"What I am asking you is if you think that it is safe for us to go?" asked Curtis.
"Well I think will be safe to go" said Stella as she thought deeply and in the end, going was the best thing to do.
"The Castle will be safer, and if anything happens it will not be on me or the High Council" said Stella.
"I am still not convinced" said Curtis honestly, they had to be careful now more than ever, they were in a very delicate situation right now, especially Annie, it would be better for them to stay put.
"I think that the change of scenery will be good for Annie" said Stella plainly.
"After all, she is going through a lot right now, and until we get our bearings, right now, even if you do not want to admit it, we are at a dead end" said Stella and Curtis knew that she was right.
"And the Castle Library is the most advanced in the realm, I am sure that you can find what you need there" said Stella.
"Sure you may be right" said Curtis as now that Stella mentioned that, he could truly get the information that he so desperately needed there.
"But it is up to Annie, we cannot force her and the others to go where they do not want to go" said Curtis as he looked at Stella.
"I am sure that she will agree" said Stella as she smiled.
"Well alright, if you say so" said Curtis as honestly, he was in no place to make an decisions, he was powerless right now.
"So when are you going to tell her?" asked Curtis.
"Tomorrow, I still have another meeting after this with Professor Frederick, and another one after that with the Cauldron" said Stella as she sighed, she really had a lot to do today, just like any other days.
"Alright then" said Curtis.
"Yes, which reminds me, do you know if Azazel is alive?" asked Stella as she looked at Curtis, if there was anyone that would know where Azazel was, it would be Curtis.
"Oh yes, he is alive alright, I know because I can still feel him" said Curtis.
"Although I am not sure that he is well… his presence is very faint… almost like it is not there at all" said Curtis as he seemed to be thinking.
"Then does that mean that he is dead?" asked Stella.
"No, far from it… he is not dead…" said Curtis.
"But he may be dying" said Curtis as he added.
"Do you happen to know where he is?" asked Stella.
"Sadly no, I do not know where he is" said Curtis as he sighed.
"I was created to know if Azazel is still around, although I cannot pinpoint his location, I only know that he is alive and nothing more" said Curtis.
"Well then, not what I wanted to hear, but what can I do?" asked Stella as she smiled.
"Well anyway, this will allow me to be able to increase the security measures in the Palace" said Stella.
"But didn't Captious already do that?" asked Curtis.
"Yes he did… but I want to correct some measures personally by myself" said Stella.
"I see" said Curtis.
"Yes" said Stella.
"Well I really am sorry Curtis, but I am not running late for a meeting" said Stella as she sighed and she stood up.
"That is alright Stella" said Curtis.
"See you later Curtis" said Stella as she smiled and she walked out of her office leaving Curtis alone there, he was the only one she could leave in her office with no worries at all, he was the most trustworthy person she knew, and she could trust him with anything.
Curtis watched as Stella left her office as he was deep in thought, for the past days he had been trying to find a way for Annie to get her powers back, and yet he had thought of nothing at all, every single spell or enchantment he knew could not bring back Annie's powers, he was at a dead end, a very narrow one.
…
"Where is Annie?" asked Matt as he walked back into the library and he saw Maddie sitting there lazily.
"Well she was feeling tired so she went to the kitchen" said Maddie as she explained.
"Okay" said Matt as he sat down beside Maddie.
"Yes" said Maddie.
"So did you return the book to Professor Sapiens?" asked Maddie.
"Yes I did" said Matt.
"Which reminds me, there is no way I am letting that annoying guy and Annie have something in common" said Maddie as she suddenly remembered Ollie.
"What do you mean?" asked Matt as to him Maddie was making no sense at all.
"That guy thinks that he's so smug and all just because he can read the old tongue or whatever that language is called" said Maddie.
"Alright… and how does that concern me?" asked Matt.
"Concern us, you mean concern us Matt" said Maddie as Matt looked like she was speaking another language.
"How exactly??" asked Matt.
"That guy is becoming way to comfortable here, and I am sure that it will be even worse now that he considers Annie the same as him because they can both read that language" said Maddie.
"So??" asked Matt as he still was not following.
"So, we cannot let him get the advantage and be left out" said Maddie.
"We don't trust him, and so I say we learn that old tongue as well" said Maddie as she smiled.
"Nope…" said Matt plainly as he shook his head.
"Oh come on why??" asked Maddie as she was surprised with the way Matt refused.
"Well if you seem to forget, he did say that the language is hard to learn" said Matt.
"Sure, it may be, but I am sure that we can learn it if we try hard enough" said Maddie.
"My answer is still no" said Matt.
"Besides why are you grouping us as we?" asked Matt.
"Well because your Grandfather obviously knows the language well, and if you are on board, you can convince him to teach us" said Maddie as she smiled at her bright idea and Matt shook his head.
"Oh come on Mattt, pleaseeee… I cannot do this without you" said Maddie as she pleaded with Matt.
"You know Maddie… you are very annoying" said Matt as he sighed and he shook his head.
"Yes I know, but you love me too much to say no" said Maddie as she smiled at Matt brightly and Matt scoffed, he could now see the similarities between Evie and Maddie.
"Oh pleaseee Mattt" said Maddie as she pleaded with him as Matt sighed, he knew that he was going to regret this.
"Okay fine" said Matt as he sighed and he shook his head.
"Yayyy, thank you, thank you Matt" said Maddie as she smiled happily.
"Yeah, yeah, but you are going to have to ask my Grandfather" said Matt.
"No worries, as long as you are there with me he will say yes" said Maddie as she smiled.
"You seem very sure about that" said Matt.
"That is because I am Matty boy" said Maddie as she smiled and she winked at him as Matt wondered how he got himself into this mess with Maddie.
