Chereads / Annie Grey / Chapter 265 - Be Careful

Chapter 265 - Be Careful

"Well okay that was… that was something" said Annie

"Umm yes it was" said Matt as there was utter silence in the room, the way Clove ended that message of hers was very somber and serious, the fact that she gave Annie the go ahead to kill Azazel, was very unbelievable considering she was his wife.

"Maddie??" asked Annie as she turned to look at Maddie that was sitting beside her.

"Is there something you want to say?" asked Annie

"Hmm yes" said Maddie as she turned to look at Annie.

"Curtis what do you think?" asked Maddie as she looked at Curtis.

"I mean about this whole thing, what do you think about this?" she asked more specifically.

"Hmm" said Curtis as he looked serious.

"There is truth in what Clove said" said Curtis

"Azazel is getting weaker, and there is a possibility that he might not go on with this" said Curtis

"But that possibility is very low, as in I don't think that he is going to stop in the first place" said Curtis

"Sure, he might take things slower, but to be honest I do not believe that Azazel would just desert all his plans just like that" said Curtis

"If you ask me, this all seems suspicious to me" said Maddie

"Why did it seem like she knew she was going to die? And then she left this message for me" said Maddie

"I have no doubt in my mind that this is all staged, and It's a trap laid for us to let our guard down" said Maddie, she did not trust this whole thing one bit, especially the 'emotional' message her mother left her, it seemed too good to be true.

The woman she knew, was one that would protect Azazel, no matter what, and at all costs, and yet here she was telling them that they should kill him, she was in doubt, she was sure that Azazel and Clove could just be pulling all the strings behind the scenes.

"I do not believe that Maddie" said Curtis

"This message seemed genuine" said Curtis

"Ha, that's what they want you to think" said Maddie as she scoffed.

"Well it's already very late" said Curtis

"And you all should be sleeping by now" he said as he stood up.

"Maddie do you mind if I take the crystal shard, so I can show it to Stella tomorrow?" asked Curtis

"Sure, I don't mind" said Maddie as she picked up the crystal shard, and threw it to Curtis like she wanted nothing to do with it.

"Thank you" said Curtis as he caught the shard.

"Well Matt, let's go" said Curtis

"Well okay" said Matt as he stood up.

"Goodnight Annie, Goodnight Maddie" said Matt

"Bye Matt" said Maddie

"Goodnight" said Annie as she smiled as Curtis and Matt left their room.

"*Ahem* So Maddie what do you think??" asked Annie as she soon as they were left alone.

"What do I think about what??" asked Maddie as she stood up and lazily walked to her bed.

"You know about this and what your mom said, she said quite a lot" said Annie

"Oh you mean that, well yes, Azazel does need to be dealt with very soon" said Maddie as she was trying to avoid the question.

"Oh Maddie, you know what I mean" said Annie

"Okay fine, if you want to play that game, then we will play" said Annie

"I mean, how do you feel about your mom telling you her reasons, and how much she loved you?" asked Annie as she hit the nail on the head.

"Well Annie, to tell you the truth, her reasons mean nothing to me now that she's dead" said Maddie

"How come it when only when she died that she finally said all those things" said Maddie

"I hate the fact that it takes people such a long time to try to correct their mistakes" said Maddie

"Regardless of the fact that she told be her supposedly valid reason for the actions she took, it makes no difference to me" said Maddie

"She was never a mother, and she will not be now that she's dead" said Maddie

"Maddie don't you think that you are being a bit to harsh?" asked Annie

"Maybe she resorted to doing this, because she was sure that this would be the only way that you would listen to her" said Annie

"I don't care" said Maddie plainly.

"But Maddie, everyone deserves a second chance" said Annie

"Yes they do, but not everyone can choose to embrace their second chance" said Maddie

"But I am sure that you do not know the full story" said Annie

"I know, and I don't care, I do not want to know the full story anyway" said Maddie as she turned her back at Annie.

Annie sighed, Maddie was being extremely impossible right now, she was bent on not hearing her point of reason, and it was seriously annoying.

"Look Maddie, I know that you have every right to feel the way you do, and to think the way you think" said Annie

"But sometimes you just need to reason, and to forgive" said Annie

"I know you can say that it's easy for me to say, since I have not passed through half of what you passed through" said Annie

"But I believe that you mother had a reason, she sent you a message, and her personal diary" said Annie

"I am sure that she wants you to know why she did what she did, and why she acted how she acted, she wants you to judge it from her perspective, and most of all she wants you to know that she loved you" said Annie and Maddie replied with silence.

"I'm sorry If I come off as nosy, but it's the truth" said Annie as she sighed.

"Anyway, it's very late, and we still have to wake up early tomorrow" said Annie

"So goodnight Maddie" said Annie as she laid down on her bed, she was sure that she was only talking to herself, with the way Maddie was unresponsive, but she knew that she was listening, she always did.

Meanwhile back in Azazel's camp.

"Don't you think that it's a bit suspicious the way Azazel let those snoopers go scot free?" asked Bruce, as he and the other rogues were on night watch, it was not like they slept in the night anyway.

"You would expect him to deal with them mercilessly, but he just went his way, and let them go" said Bruce.

"What do you expect? He just lost his wife" said Hunter as he could not believe the way Bruce was talking right now.

"I did not think that it affected him that much, he is Azazel after all" said Bruce

"He is ruthless, wicked, and merciless" said Bruce.

"And what makes you so sure that a ruthless, wicked, and merciless person, cannot love someone?" asked Hunter.

"Unlike you, some people actually care for others" said Hunter as his words had a double meaning.

"How long are you going to keep blaming me for Liam's death?" asked Bruce

"I thought that we already moved past this" said Bruce.

"No we have not" said Hunter spitefully

"Why?? When will you understand that I did not mean for that to happen, no one would have ever thought that he would die that day" said Bruce.

"Oh but no, I told you that I had a feeling that something was not right" said Hunter

"I told you that we should have gathered the boys and gone and find Liam" said Hunter

"But no, you shrugged me off, saying that I was overreacting, and Liam was probably having a good time" said Hunter

"And yes, you were right, he was having a good time being dead!" said Hunter

"That's enough Hunter" said Bruce, as he was wondering when Hunter would stop blaming him, it was a honest mistake that he made, they had no power to tell the future, and Hunter was busy blaming himself and everyone else, for what happened.

"No it's not enough" said Hunter

"It will never be enough" said Hunter.

"Now that wicked woman, gets to move around freely, like she is innocent" said Hunter

"When we both know that she was the one who killed him" said Hunter

"Yes, you are right, but no one would ever believe us" said Bruce.

"We have no proof, and Selene is a woman that you do not want to mess with" said Bruce.

"Well that's your problem, she is nothing to me, I am going to get proof, and make sure that she suffers for killing another one of our own" said Hunter.

"Be careful in what you are planning Hunter" said Bruce

"If you step on toes that you are supposed to avoid, you would end up dying yourself" said Bruce

"Whatever you say Bruce" said Hunter

"Just know, that I am not giving up, even if it seems hopeless" said Hunter with serious determination, he was not going to let Selene get out scot free, she was going to answer for all her crimes… yes she was.
