"Who are you??" asked Mira.
"I will ask you again, who are you??" she asked this time with more aggressiveness, she looked like she was about to fight any second from now.
The lady in the black cloak did not even flinch at all at Mira's aggressiveness and willingness to fight, she just remained calm.
"Relax, I mean no harm to any of you." she said in a familiar tone.
"I just have a message for Miss Maddison" said the lady as she removed a big yellow envelope from the inside of her cloak.
"It's from her mother" she said
"I mean late mother" said the lady as she corrected herself.
"She asked me to give this to her before she died" said the lady as she walked closer and she gave Maddie the envelope.
Every single one of the were shocked on how things were developing, Maddie was too surprised that she did not notice when the lady put the envelope in her hands, what could her mother possibly want to tell her??
"Ahem, if you would excuse me" said the lady as she moved back to her original position and her eyes moved to the grave, her voice seemed wobbly like she was about to cry.
"That is all I needed to deliver" she said.
"I hope that you all will be safe" she said
"And for you Maddison, I hope that you take time to decide to go through what your mother left for you" she said
"Why do you care so much?" thought Maddie to herself, as she thought that this lady was getting way too personal, who was she to think that she could say such to you.
"I will be going now" said the lady as she alerted them, and in an instant she disappeared just like she appeared.
"Umm well that was unexpected" said Annie as she snapped out of the prior shock.
"Tell me about it" said Matt, as he too had not heard that lady come or go at all.
"Maddie if you would allow me, I would like to scan that envelope" said Mira as she turned around to face them, she was still on edge, she could not afford any slip ups, they were basically without any protection over here.
"Sure, I have no problem with that, I don't even want it in the first place" said Maddie as she gave Mira the envelope as if she was getting rid of something nasty.
To tell the truth Maddie had no intention whatsoever to open what her dead mother left for her, as far as she knew, she had her chance to cut all ties, and she was not even the least curious as to what her mother wanted to say.
Maddie did not want to hear anything her mother had to say, she was not even thrilled to hear maybe her crying or the many excuses she had to say.
"Okay it's done" said Mira
"And I don't see anything harmful in here" she said as she gave Maddie back the envelope.
"What a bummer" whispered Maddie under her breath, but Matt heard her, and he looked at her, and she looked back at him with a smile.
"Anyway, I think that it's best we start returning back to the camp" said Mira as she was still uneasy.
All this simply did not make any sense, first they arrive here to Azazel, are you telling her that him along with two vampires did not notice their presence?? of course not, he totally knew that they were there, and yet he did not try any attack at all and he just left???
And then, a few minutes after Azazel left, a mysterious, black cloaked lady appeared in the name of giving Maddie a message from her late mother, it all sounded staged to her, which meant that they had to get out of her as soon as possible.
"Come on let's go" said Mira
"And everyone stay together and be alert, if you sense anything out of the ordinary do not hesitate to tell me immediately" said Mira
"Okay??" asked Mira as she looked at them
"Okay" said Annie, Maddie and Matt as they walked away.
As soon as they had moved very far away, the area around Clove's grave began to change, light shone as it was cleaning, and a beautiful hedge garden sprung up beside it.
Bright red roses bloomed on the hedges, which created a beautiful seal, and to end it all off a barrier that concealed what was actually inside was set up to protect the grave.
Meanwhile back in the camp.
Annie, Maddie, Matt and Mira had arrived back safety, luckily there was nothing harmful on their way back, which relieved Mira, but then again it was better to be safe than sorry,
Annie, Maddie and Matt went to their respective rooms, and before they knew it, the sun had set and it was already dinner time, they all ate dinner, and said goodnight.
"What is it??" asked Maddie as she climbed into bed and she saw Annie's suspicious look on her face.
"Well aren't you going to open what your mother sent you??" asked Annie a little bit too eagerly.
"Ugh, I knew you were going to say that" said Maddie as she covered her face with her pillow
"You have been so bubbly and looking at me weirdly all day" said Maddie as she groaned.
"Awww come on Maddie, are you not even a bit curious about what's in there??" asked Annie
"I don't want to know" said Maddie as she removed the pillow from her face and she looked at Annie.
"So you are not even the a teeny tiny but curious??" asked Annie
"No I am not the slightest bit curious about what could be in there" said Maddie as she face-palmed it was like she was talking to a three year old child, that was very annoying and buggy.
"Besides I felt the envelope, it feels like a usual letter is in there" said Maddie
"And you don't want to open and read the letter to hear what she has to say??" asked Annie
"Nope, not at all" said Maddie as she picked up her brush and she began to brush her hair.
"Why not??" asked Annie as she could not understand.
"Look Annie, I don't care because, I don't think that someone who could not be there for me when she was alive would do any better when she's dead" said Maddie
"And what you said about a mother always being a mother" said Maddie
"I doubt it, but you are right, they can always be a mother because they gave birth to you, but there is a difference between a mother and a mom" said Maddie
"A mother can just be a mother figure, a mom is someone you run to when you are in trouble, someone you know that always has your back, she loves you she cares for you, and most of all she wants the best for you" said Maddie
"But my mother failed in every one of those aspects" said Maddie as she brushed her hair.
"You cannot compare her to your mom, or to Matt mom, because I know that they truly care for their children, but mine didn't" said Maddie
"I always wondered if my mom ever loved me" she said
"I could tolerate Azazel, because I did not expect any better from him, but my mother, I expected her to be different, I wanted her to be kind and loving" said Maddie
"But instead all I got was a woman, who was always after the gratification of her evil husband, she would do anything he asked regardless of if it was wrong or not" said Maddie
"And it was no different when it came to me" said Maddie
"When I was going to be punished for something I did that was supposedly wrong, she would always leave the punishment to Azazel" she said
"Even though she knew that his punishments were brutal, she would never step in to save me" said Maddie
"I stopped seeing her as a mother, from the day she stopped acting like one" said Maddie as she put down her hairbrush.
"It's funny how years later, when we are in the middle of a war, is when she actually wants to talk to me" said Maddie as she laughed, but it was not a happy laugh it was more like a scoffing one.
"Maddie, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be so insensitive" said Annie as she felt bad.
"I shouldn't have asked you to open it, I don't want you to feel like this" she said, all she wanted to do was make Maddie feel better, but she had gone and made things way worse.
"It's fine Annie, I know that you only mean well" said Maddie as she smiled slightly.
"And I also know that you are right" she said
"I need to know what she left for me, just in case it may be something dangerous that I need to get rid off" said Maddie.
"So I will open it" she said as she pulled the yellow envelope from under her bed, where she kept it, she hoped that she would not regret it.
