Meanwhile in the middle of nowhere in particular.
"Boss, do you think that we should be going now?" asked one of the rogue vampires as he ran his hands through his messy hair.
"I think that we should wait a bit more" replied Liam as his eyes appeared more red than usual, maybe it was the light from the almost setting sun that made it appear that way.
"Boss I think that we have waited enough, just look at the sun, it's already setting" said the vampire.
"Patience Bruce, Patience" said Liam as he sat comfortably on a rock, it seemed like he had no intention whatsoever to move from his spot anytime soon.
"Boss you seem a bit too calm for my liking" said the vampire named Bruce.
"Look Bruce, life needs to be enjoyed, and you need to slow down and just enjoy the peace that you have right now" said Liam as he looked up at the sky totally relaxed.
"You will understand more, when you get to my age" said Liam
"I hope so boss, because to me and the boys you are acting as if you are mind controlled" said Bruce.
"Good old brucey, that's why I like you, you are always very honest" said Liam as he chuckled.
"I just realized that we have no idea of when next we will be able to relax like this, so I say enjoy it while it lasts" said Liam
"Okay Boss" said Bruce as he was still in doubt, but he trusted Liam, he was the strongest of them all, and he would not let himself be mind controlled.
"Tell the boys to relax and be at ease, we will return when the sun sets" said Liam
"Yes boss" replied Bruce.
"Boss are you not at least the bit curious on why that evil witch told us rogues to leave the camp?" asked Bruce
"Well Bruce, she is a very difficult nut to crack, but once we get back I will ask her" said Liam as he knew the "evil witch" that Bruce was referring to.
"Okay Boss, I don't even know how you dare tolerate her, she is the embodiment of evil" said Bruce.
"If I was you boss I would put her in her place, she has gotten to comfortable, why do we have to listen to her every command?" said Bruce as he was obviously displeased.
"Bruce what did I say?" said Liam
"When you are in their domain, you play by their rules, you be careful and don't put yourself in a situation that is not meant for you" said Liam
"Just take what happened to Billy for example" said Liam
"The boy was very stubborn, refused to listen, and he walked right into the trap of those witches" said Liam
"But" said Bruce.
"But nothing, I do not blame them, they gave us a friendly warning, and still with that, a ignorant boy decided to get himself killed" said Liam
"One thing about witches, especially these ones Bruce, they don't strike if you don't strike first" said Liam
"Just a word of advice to you, and the rest of the boys" said Liam
"Stay on your lane, and they will remain on theirs" said Liam
"There might be an exchange of insults and banters, but they need us, and we need them, so they would dare not attack us directly, without a good reason." said Liam.
"Boss you seem to be an expert on witches now" said Bruce as he laughed.
"Am I not, I believe that I need to write a book about witches from all my experience, for our kind" said Liam
"Imagine, I will call it "The behavioral patterns of a witch, and how to deal with them" by Liam" said Liam as he laughed.
"No offence boss but I can never imagine you as a writer" said one of the other rouge vampires.
"Yeah our boss with glasses and with his face at the back of a book?? nah I don't think that writing suits you boss" said another vampire and all the other vampires agreed and laughed.
"Oh really then??" said Liam
"Well then boys, I will prove you all that I can be a writer, in fact I will start right now" said Liam.
"Bruce get a pen and paper, I will tell you what to write for chapter 1" said Liam
"Are you serious boss??" asked Bruce.
"Do I look like I am joking??" said Liam
"No boss, you do not" said Bruce as he tried to stop himself from laughing, all this was just too ridiculous.
"Good, then start writing" said Liam
"Does anyone have a paper?" asked Bruce?? and one by one the group of seven vampires shook their heads no.
"Well Boss no one has a paper" said Bruce sadly when deep down in reality he was happy that he did not have to write this nonsense book that Liam was talking about.
"Awww nonsense, none of you are handy at all" said Liam
"Well then once we get back to the camp, you will start writing my book Bruce" said Liam
"Okay Boss" said Bruce as he was sure that he would do no such thing.
"Boss the sun has set" said one of the vampires.
"Well then that's our cue, let us go now" said Liam as he stood up from the rock and he stretched.
"Yes Boss" said the other vampires as they stood up and got ready to go.
...
"Selene there is someone here to see you" said a witch as she walked into Selene's office.
"Who is it?" asked Selene.
"I don't know I have not seem him before" said the witch.
"Then don't let him in" said Selene.
"But he said that I should tell you that the crow has come to nest" said the witch, and Selene eyes went wide, she knew exactly what that meant.
"Send him in immediately" said Selene.
"Yes Selene" said the witch as she left and a man walked into the room.
"You were very fast" said Selene as she moved her fingers in a circular motion.
"What do you have for me?" she asked the strange man with a smile.
The man was wearing a blood red cloak, and his head was covered with the hood of the cloak, he had a golden chain belt around his waist, and a flute was hanged on his belt.
"I could not get the boy" he said
"But I managed to get the smell patch of the girl" he said as he threw a transparent bag that had what seemed to be mud in to to Selene and she caught it.
"Mission "partly" accomplished" he said.
"Are you going to pay me my balance?" he asked.
"You did do what I asked you to do, and you did it well" said Selene.
"So here is your balance" she said as she threw him a brown pouch.
"Nice doing business with you" said the man as he smiled.
"Same here" said Selene as she smiled at him.
"If you ever need my services again, just give me a call" he said
"We'll see" said Selene as he man left like he was never there in the first place.
Who cared if he was not able to get the half-vampire, what she was holding in her hand right now, was the most important thing that she needed to accomplish her plan.
