The morning cooled so December- cold, just five days till Christmas and of course our big day. Every day I felt more and more nervous as the days kept approaching, and it didn't help my nerves with little Eliza crying all night. I think she missed Tessa and felt as if I was a stranger to her, that's what happens when you separate a father from her daughter for over two months.
They say babies grow accustom to who they play with throughout the day. The one who feeds them, sooth them back to sleep and the one who listens. Tessa was the one who did all of that while I was busy with work and travelling, that's why it felt weird for Eliza to have me doing all of the things Tessa did. Diana thought I was being paranoid "Babies know who their fathers are, you just have to keep telling her" she told me whenever I complained that little Eliza wept every time I touched her.
"Why don't you touch her and tell her that you are her mother?" I asked.
