It is the last month of the year, a day to the coronation ceremony which will as well mark the last day of the month. Kyle was getting anxious than ever. Even though Marianne was getting clingier, he reminded himself times without number why he had to do this.
The neighbouring Alphas had done their coronations and seven head Alphas, betas and their heirs minus the royals had arrived. They were waiting for the remaining three head Alphas with their betas and heirs before commencing the ceremony at exactly twelve in the afternoon.
"They are here". His mother said through the mind link while he was in his room lost in thoughts. Ever since Marianne arrived three days ago, Kyle never allowed her into his room nor ever sat alone with her; whatever they had wanted to display, they did in front of everyone.
Kyle stood up from his bed and went to the pack house where the royals, Nathan, Paul, Marianne including the other Head Alphas with their heirs were standing expectantly since the three head Alphas coming were rank(s) above them except the Royals.
Alpha King Damien was silently seething with anger; it was directed towards Alpha Keylar who was ranked second after him. Ever since what had happened with Kim, he had never seen any trace of Keylar to the extent that his name with that of Carlos and Adrian was cleared in the council's history. They were three, best friends to be exact until that incident tore them apart. He knew Keylar was more powerful while he was stronger but he could not explain how Keylar was able to clear his history including that of Carlos from the family's register of the head Alphas' with the council.
His Luna and wife could feel the anger radiating from her husband. Queen Charlotte knew through her wolf that her husband loves her but he is just beginning to accept them, which is one of the reasons she had decided to stay. She held his hand and he turned to her and smiled while she smiled back as they faced the visitors.
The car brought by the three head Alphas was the latest Lamborghini 2015 model. They came down from their individual cars with their betas behind them. They shook hands and entered the Alphas meeting room which had a center table and a total of forty-one tables arranged including the royals throne placed at the head.
"Good day my fellow rulers". King Damien started. "We all know the impending threats that caused us to shift the date forward; however, things need to be done. Our heirs have been trained to become better leaders and we have faith in them to step up their games. However, as fathers, we need to help them achieve their goals of ruling our world. We will commence the coronation at the main hall which has already been prepared for the ceremony so can we please move there and Alpha Connor, Marcos and Hernandez please wait behind". He finished as the others left the room and were ushered by the Draeries.
Marianne wanted to stay behind but she was asked to leave. When everyone had left and the door closed, King Damien began. "My dear friends". He began sarcastically.
"Go straight to the point Damien". Alpha Carlos said.
"You guys left me after you Keylar! slept with my mate". King Damien lamented.
Keylar looked at Queen Charlotte and Kyle who was massaging his temple, " Your past is hurting your future. Did you even believe in us because if you did, you would have noticed I was drunk that night and Kimberly was the sober one but no! Instead you believed the worst and decided to indirectly break the bond by sending assassins. Assassins! Damien; thought you could do better". Alpha Keylar said and left the room with Alpha Carlos and Adrian trailing behind.
A lone tear fell down as he looked at his family and saw his wife shaking her head and whispering the word 'why?'. He now realized fully that he broke his family because of not forgetting and forgiving an incident which made him not to be a better husband and father. He went to his wife wanting to comfort and appeal to her but she broke from his hold and left. He looked at his son and saw the hatred reflected in his looks as he also left the room. He knew now he had to atone because he realized now how much he missed and loved his family.
The betas ceremony was over six hours after noon with the heirs already feeling the transfer of power and could not wait to begin their responsibilities. However, everyone was seated on their individual chairs according to their ranks when they noticed the chair meant for the Alpha Keylar, Alpha Adrian and Alpha Carlos heirs empty, which was placed beside Kyle who was seating at his father's left hand side.
"Alpha Keylar, Alpha Carlos, Alpha Adrian, where are your heirs?". Luna Charlotte questioned.
"They are coming". Alpha Keylar responded. The Alphas ceremony will commence at ten in the night because they have to be bonded by 12 in the midnight.
"They said we should start without them; they will be here before their names is been called". He continued as he dropped his phone on the table.
"Okay, we have five male heirs and two female". Queen Charlotte counted and asked," what are the genders for the remaining three?".
"Two females and a male". Alpha Adrian answered.
"Okay, the ones present should get dressed, we have an hour left. The others will join us".
"No worries, they won't need it". Alpha Carlos answered as Alpha Keylar and Alpha Adrian nodded. They know how smart their children are, even though there are times they fought, they still love their children to death.
Everyone were dressed and prepared. Kyle was pacing around his room hoping Elizabeth would come. He was frustrated and sad, Paul and Nathan walked in as they noticed the anxiety their friend was feeling.
"Kyle, she would come". Paul said, trying to comfort Kyle as well as himself.
"Sons, it's time. And don't worry they would come". She said referring to Elizabeth and Arya.
The hall was decorated with shades of purple and black since that was the colour code. The chairs were neatly arranged in ten sections which was meant for the members present from each pack. A well designed technology was placed on the walls to capture and record all while members who could not come could watch it live. There were up to fifty Draeries and twelve elders present. The sum total of the members present were three thousand. Two thousand from the royals and a thousand from verse attendees.
"Now we commence the program". The presenter who was one of the elders started at exactly ten p.m. A short prayer was said as well as a short speech by the Alpha King.
"Now it's time for the handing over of positions. We start from the royals". The three ranked head Alphas as well as their Lunas are expected to stand at the left hand side of the stage since the heirs are coming from the right. The Luna will hold the Gems passed on to every Head Alpha.
Marianne was getting more excited as she was expecting herself to be called after the coronation for the Queen regent post. She looked over to Ryan and saw his sad countenance. She actually did feel for him since he was her mate but to her, he was a means to remove that bitch from stealing the man she's been groomed for years to be his.
"Alpha Sawyer King of Crossbones pack with heiress, Charlotte.... Lucien potter of Charades pack with heir, Micah..... Alpha Dante Dantes of the Fallen Skies pack with heir Dantes II.... Alpha Landon May of the Light Days Pack with heiress Emily.... Alpha Gideon Alarceno of the Fountain with heir Juan....". The elder stopped with trying to get another list from another elder that walked the stage.
"What are they doing?". Kyle questioned.
"Since Alpha Keylar, Alpha Adrian and Alpha Carlos family register were initially erased, the elders needed to research on their placement". Queen Charlotte answered.
"But how was that possible?". Kyle was confused. The register was kept with a secret code, which was always a ritual for the council to keep different things with different codes.
"I don't know Kyle; I don't know".
"Fifth pack, Alpha Maxwell Gomez of the chosen Lightning pack with heiress Marianne". They were all silent waiting for the presenter to introduce her as the Queen Luna but he never did.
He paused five minutes before continuing, "the fourth, Alpha Adrian Marcos of the Revolution pack with heir Oliver.....the third, Alpha Carlos Hernandez of the Fire rage with heiress, Samantha Arya". The heirs were all lined up on the stage after the transfer of powers waiting to be officially pronounced as Alphas.
Nathan was surprised to see Arya but he had to restrain himself till the end of the ceremony. He could not believe she was standing there, he loved how beautifully she has changed and hope she would give them a chance.
"Now to the second heiress, Our Queen Regent...". Immediately he said that, all was shocked. The Queen Regent is expected to be trained for the post to be the Queen but the only Queen Regent they know that has been groomed for the post is Marianne.
"Alpha Keylar Connor of the Silent waters with his heiress and our Queen Luna, Katherine Elizabeth Connor also known as an Eleanor". Immediately he said that those that knew Elizabeth were shocked as she came in with a princess made purple gown and a silver tiara with black pointed heels. Elizabeth walked on stage while pecking Sam and Oliver on their cheeks and walked straight to her father who hugged her.
When she was giving her gem, she placed her head on that of Oliver and then on that of Kyle. The elder then said, "here are our Alphas and protectors". And everyone stood up to bow.
Marianne was seething as well as her family who had initially thought her to be the Queen Regent. Immediately they walked down from the stage, Marianne was pulled by Ryan into a corner.
"What do you want?". She snapped.
"You, Marianne. I did everything to get you, including pretending to hate the sister I will never have again". Ryan accused her with tears.
"And so what? I thought I had gotten rid of that bitch". She said more to herself.
Ryan growled. He hated all he had to do to get the mate that will never love him. Ryan loved Elizabeth but had to pretend to hate her to get his mate. He should have known sooner that they will never be together and now, not only has he lost a mate but also his sister, Elizabeth.
"Don't worry Marianne. I will amend my ways with Liz but I hope you realize your mistakes before it is too late". He said and left.
An after party was organized to celebrate the new Alphas and Betas and so another colour code was chosen which was used to decorate the hall.
Elizabeth was the last to walk into the hall with her white short ball gown and black curled hair pulled to the side and her black wedge with a silver chain attached to it. Her dresses throughout the parties wowed everyone, she stood out from her hair to her minimal but smokey eye makeup and heels.
"Now let's toast to this day". They all did that while everyone had fun with lots of food, drinks and entertainments.
Kyle was looking at her across the table noticing the change in the love of his life but was scared to approach her and could say the same for Nathan. They were scared of the outcome because they just discovered their mates were born Alphas so they do not know what other surprise was lying in wait.
He hated how calm they both were and the fun they both were having with Oliver, he could tell how much Nathan misses Arya while he to Elizabeth but he could not say the same about the girls because they gave nothing away and it was killing them both.
Elizabeth knew how much she missed Kyle and had discovered her feelings toward him but that does not mean she would fall easily at his feet because of what he had done and one thing he probably didn't realize is she came back stronger.
Paul was smiling even though he could not get over the fact that his best friend did not tell him anything about being of an Alpha blood but yet he blamed himself for not being able to piece the puzzle when the evidences were there, starting from her ability to run faster without changing into her wolf form but above all, he is waiting to ask about his mate since he misses her.
Everyone had their thoughts but today is a day of joy and fun because no one knows tomorrow.
