Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Meeting

Romelle sighed uncomfortably ass they rode the elevator to the topmost floor of the hotel.

it was normal to be nervous, this was her first meeting with one of the main characters after all!

The male lead was of course, like most male leads, a very wealthy and powerful person. In the book, although her family was powerful, the original Romelle wasn't in the same league as him.

But things were different now, Romelle could be considered one of his only equals in the entire country.

Romelle breathed out evenly. Yes, she was meeting the male lead on equal grounds. If there was one thing she hated, it was being looked down on by someone, and she didn't need to worry about that.

"Don't worry about it too much, they really wanted to meet you! Not the other way around!"Evan said smiling as the elevator door dinged open.

"Really?"

"Of course," Evan reassured," They specifically told me that they wanted to meet my very famous cousin. I mean, who wouldn't want to meet you, you're famous! Like hello? Billionaire in the house?!"

Evan laughed as Romelle slightly pushed him away playfully rolling her eyes.

Ryan smiled before leaning towards Romelle," Well, that wasn't in the script," he reassured.

Ryan too was a person from her world. Apparently, he had passed through to the novel when she was starting to get a lot of recognition. Ryan had come to one of the job interviews to become her assistant just so that he could meet her. Romelle, of course, was extremely surprised and they had talked and discussed various things.

In the end, since Ryan also had a lot of qualifications in the previous life and now, she directly made him her assistant. A little impulsive, but it ended up working for the best.

"I know," Romelle responded," Hopefully, it's a good sign."

Ryan hummed.

Evan walked them down a hallway starring at his phone," 54B, aha! 54A, here it is, come on guys!"

Ryan stepped up to open the door for both of them.

Inside, the first thing that greets the eye were floor-to-ceiling windows that overviewed the entirety of the city. shined through the windows casting the large room in golden light

There were around 10 people in the room and some more on the balcony.

"Evan! you're finally here!" a guy called as he walked towards them before his eyes landed on Romelle and Ryan who just walked through the door.

"Oh!! If it isn't for Ms. Jacobs! Everyone! Come over! It's Evan and Ms. Jacobs!"

The people on the other side of the room looked over and started walking towards them. Everyone greeted them politely.

"Romelle! Ryan! Come over here! Let me introduce you to everyone," Evan beckoned.

Ryan stood behind Romelle with a pleasing smile habitually.

"Hello everyone." Romelle greeted," It's nice to meet you all. Thank you for looking after Evan."

"Yes," Ryan agreed," It was truly astonishing he had any friends, so we had to come to make sure."

Evan smiled obviously a little embarrassed, but then put it off and put on a smirking," You guys obviously don't know me well enough! Ha!"

Ryan gave a patient smile and Romelle laughed good-naturedly.

"Anyway," Evan said beckoning everyone closer," This is my cousin Romelle and her assistant Ryan! Ryan and Noelle, these are my university friends."

As everyone finished their greetings and started chatting to each other, the door to the balcony opened as the people outside came in seeing all the commotion.

For some reason, whenever Romelle recalled this moment many years later, she would say that time seemed to stop at that moment.

Romelle had looked towards the balcony to see a tall man, whose eyes swept over the crowds and inadvertently stopped at hers.

It was the male lead, Noah Hathway.
