Just like Miya told me yesterday, it's quite far to reach the place where the flower was at. It took half of our morning time just to arrive at that place.
But also, because of that, I could ask Miya about the founder along the way. So it's not a complete waste of my time either. As it's valuable information for me despite it being public knowledge that basically everyone in this world knows of it.
...
The place doesn't seem to be a lot different from the other part of the field at all. I had a different image of what this place might look like as this was the place where the rare Flower of Eve grew after all. Yet I wouldn't say it is disappointing but it's a lot different from what I thought it would be.
There's just a circle where no wildflower had grown beside a blue-looking flower. Presumably, the Flower of Eve also looks different from the sketch that was inside the book that Tim gave me before.
I then point at that particular flower, "Miya, is that the Flower of Eve?"
"It is but it would be rather difficult for you to take it with you."
"Why? Is there a monster guarding that flower... if you are worried about that Miya. You know for yourself that I could handle myself pretty well against any monster."
"That I know but I am not talking about your fighting abilities. What I am saying is about the Flower of Eve, it would immediately die if you just plucked it from the ground."
"What!?"
I was quite shocked to hear that as the book didn't mention this stuff at all. But I should be expecting it as this is not just a normal flower after all... of course, there's going to be something that couldn't be done normally.
"From that reaction, I assume you did not know about this right?" Miya asked.
"To be honest, yes... I didn't know a thing at all." I then paused for a while and asked Miya a question, "But tell me, Miya, does that mean I cannot bring back the flower?"
"I did not say that, it's just that you had to be very careful and didn't simply pluck it out from the ground. As you basically need to take the soil as well..."
"Could you explain a bit further... I am not catching up on what you're saying, Miya."
With that Miya told me the correct method for taking the flower up. Just like what she mentioned before, I need to take the dirt around the Flower of Eve if I really wanted that flower. But Miya told me to be careful as if I somehow cut off the root even the slightest bit, the flower would wither.
So the safe bet to make was to take mostly the ground that didn't get cover in other plants. As that's one of the reasons why other plants didn't grow near the Flower of Eve as the flower roots mark in territory under the ground.
The moment I heard that it does sound weird because it sounds like this Flower of Eve was a living monster. But Miya reassured me that it's just something the only the Flower of Eve does, that's why it's rare.
Now that I know all of that, I realize that my job has gotten a lot harder.
The circle that the flower made wasn't that large but it's quite a hassle for me to bring it with the soil as well. It could be simple, to be honest as I could just send it to my system storage.
But there's no absolute way I could do it in front of Miya. If I did that, for sure there would be a lot of questions coming towards me.
So with that, I had no other choice but to really do what Miya had told me. Only after a while, that is... when we part away, I will put it in my system storage as it would be convenient for me to walk without needing to carry it all of the time.
....
I then spent around 40 minutes carefully digging out the Flower of Eve, of course, thanks to Miya the process had been a lot quicker.
"You're quite lucky Yei that the root wasn't that long compared to the one that I had seen before." Miya then said, "Still it's unfortunate that you didn't bring a pot with you, as that would make your job carrying it easier."
"If I knew that earlier, I would have brought a pot along with me but how could I possibly know this? Even the people that are giving me this task don't know this at all as if he is aware, he already told me about it."
All of this was really Tim's fault I would say. Tim, Master of Herbalist that the people in town refer to him as. Yet he didn't even tell me about it and also there's no entry about this matter in the book that he gave me as well. Because basically, he did not know...
After I return there, I just hope he will give me a reward that would compensate for my hard work. It wasn't easy to fight through monsters and if I didn't meet Miya. For sure the moment I take the Flower of Eve off the ground, it would be withered immediately.
I do know that I am doing this to help Tim but there's no way I don't expect a reward. Tim would be dumb if he didn't give me anything in return.
Miya then said, "So this is where we part ways, right?"
She gave me that look in her eyes... I don't why but isn't Miya attached to me that quickly? We don't know each other that much and yet she gave me a look that basically means she doesn't want to be apart from me.
Is this a girl-related emotion that as a man I can't comprehend? Maybe...
