Chapter 39 - Residential Area

Elina shook her head as she said, "I just finished my job so I am basically free at the moment..."

That's the answer I fear the most coming from her, as it's pretty hard to decline her offer already. I can't tell her that my hunger is suddenly gone after all of the things I told her, so it seems like I had no other choice at the moment but to accept... unless I can be blunt with Elina.

But I don't have the balls to do it, 'Literally... my balls are gone'

I was afraid that I would hurt her feelings if I somehow told her the reason why I didn't want to eat and take a bath in her house. Because I saw how Elina react when I leave her back in Ildran shop... Elina had shown me around town and it's kinda rude for me to make her feels bad.

When I think about it- I guess I should accept Elina's hospitality after all. As I realize that if I somehow make Elina sad, the outcome might be worse for me. Because if Ildran saw Elina like that, there's no doubt that she would kill me.

So either way, I am screwed...

"Okay then, if that's the case- thanks for inviting me into your house."

"No problem at all, that's at least what I can do to trouble you with Tim's problems."

With that, I follow Elina back to her house. Along the way, Elina told me that it's quite far and probably took a couple of minutes to get to the residential district. Because we're currently in the advent district.

Hearing that, I realize that I have never been in that district before. As I had just visited the advent and the merchant district. From the names, I know that it would just be a place where people in this town live...

But I doubt that these three were the only districts in this town, because from afar... the Gria Town was a lot bigger than I actually thought it was.

"Elina, may I ask some questions about the town?... you know I'm kinda new here."

"Sure... just ask the question as I am pretty knowledgeable about Gria Town."

"Are there any more districts besides the advent, merchant and residential?"

"There's another district of course but not as big as the three districts you had mentioned... The other two are the Temple district and Lord's keep."

"Is there anything that I should know off or stay away from?"

"All the district is visitable but only the Lord's keep is hard to get permission to enter unless you had business with the lord of the town."

"I see... I will keep that in mind-"

Elina immediately cut in, "I forgot to tell you about the residential district, as it does share the same area but split into three separate sections."

"What do you mean?"

"It's simple, the residential district is divided into three sections because there's a three-class of people living there. The nobles who live in the high quarters, the knights who live in the middle quarters as they're the ones to protect if something happens. The last one was the peasant which they're living in the lower quarters..."

Well, that's understandable as the game does have that kind of thing as well. So it's nothing new at all but I am surprised that this town had a separate section as I thought it would be the same for everyone. But of course, this is a fantasy world after all with a medieval age of settings.

"So your house would be in the lower quarters then?"

Elina smiles hearing what I said, "No, I am living in the middle quarters..."

"But how? Isn't that where the knights live?"

"You're right, it is indeed for the knights. I don't think I had told you yet but my father is a knight so the whole Ineris household could live in the middle quarters."

Should have expected that, the way Elina dressed was different from the people that I saw in the merchant district. Elina's dress is way more elegant and her dress seems to be a custom tailor as well. At first, I thought that might be because of her job as an acolyte but I guess I understand that I had assumed wrongly about her.

"Oh! I didn't think that way." I paused for a moment, "Wouldn't my arrival bother your family as I might interrupt-"

"Nah! Most of my family members are usually around this time so it would be fine... but there's my older brother but I don't think he would care that much as he's busy with paperwork, so he's rarely getting out of his room."

"If you said that, then I guess it would be fine."

...

After 30 minutes of walking, we finally entered the residential district. I could see that two knights were guarding the entrance of this place. Well, I guess it's best to have good security if something happens.

Just like its name, this is indeed the place for people to live. There's a lot of houses but the one that stood out the most was probably the estate and the manor that I could see from where I am right now. That must be the noble's house... Well, that's where the rich live.

We did walk past through the lower quarters to get through the middle quarters. The condition in the lower quarters wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Sure the houses here weren't as big as the estate and the manor that I could see from afar but it's still comfortable. The surrounding area was pretty clean as well as I thought there would be a lot of trash on the grounds.

Seeing all of that, I could guess that the middle quarters might be a bit better than this... Well, I guess the only way to know was for me to see it for myself as it might be much better.
