"Why? If the Flower of Eve does not grow in this field..." I asked.
"No, it does grow here but it was guarded by a very tough monster... So it's best for you to just forget about it, but if you really wanted to get that flower. You should hire some high-level adventurers to go and get the Flower of Eve."
Hearing that, It seems like this was a generic type of quest that I had accepted. To obtain something you needed to kill the one guarding it. Really a generic quest...
Still, it wouldn't matter much if the monster were strong or not, as with my stats scaling. Fighting a tough monster wouldn't be much of a problem at all. As I clearly had the advantage even if it was just 1%.
"There's no need for that, I could handle it just fine..."
The girl weirdly looked at me, as if she didn't believe me at all.
"Are you sure? From what I could see, you're certainly just on level 4 or 6 at least."
Do I really look like a person on that kind of level? Maybe before but right now as already on level 15... I guess it's because of my gear. These certainly look like low-level gears but they're certainly wrong if they thought that way.
These clothes and the dagger weren't just ordinary ones either. At first, I thought it was just normal gear but after I unlocked the description feature, I took the time to check the clothes and the dagger.
I was quite surprised to know that my cloth enhanced all of my stats by 15, not that great compared to the other armor in the game that I had seen before but it was still a great bonus.
What was most impressive was the dagger. It has its own special skill, that any monster that was below certain health would immediately be killed. I don't know how many percent of health the monster needed to hit for this skill to be activated but still, it was a great skill.
"Do you listen to what I'm saying girl, it's better for you to get out of this place... this place is dangerous."
"As I said, I could handle it. I even killed a lot of wolves already and even-"
The girl immediately cut in, "Wolves are pretty easy to beat but how about the other monsters, I heard that there are a few Fogriun in this area."
"I already defeated one of the Fogriun..." I said that towards the girl.
"Ha! Don't try to make up a story that was obviously a lie... There's no way a girl like you could-"
As she was talking, suddenly my stats scaling picked up something.
-STATS SCALING-
-SELECT FOGRIUN-
-CHARACTER STATS UPDATED-
"Fogriun, they're near here right now..." I immediately said that to alert the girl as well.
The girl didn't believe me at all as she kept saying I am a liar.
Well, I don't care much if she believes me or not, as what's more important right now was to locate the Fogriun that was in the area. As it was pretty hard to pinpoint the exact location of the monster while it had gone invisible from the start.
The smell of blood might be the reason why the Fogriun come towards the place, there's indeed a lot of dead wolves in here.
I need to be careful as the Fogriun might be-
There's a movement in the blood puddle all of the sudden. I believe that the Fogriun was there and without any hesitation at all. I use my basic thrust skill and aim towards that direction.
*Shluk!*
It hits something- slowly there's a figure appear in front of me and it was really the Fogriun. The Fogriun then fall to the ground as it was already dead, after receiving just a thrust of my dagger.
-EXP 555-
The girl looked at me as she saw everything that happened, "What! There's really a Fogriun here..."
"There's more that one here, it seems like they're couples of Fogriun here right now," I said that.
As I realize that my stats scaling was still selected the Fogriun despite I had killed it. That means there's another one or several of them here. I just got lucky to kill this one but I doubt the other Fogriun would make the same mistake or repeat the same thing.
"If what you said is the truth, I suppose we need to kill it."
"We? I thought you said I'm weak..." I said that towards the girl
"Sorry about that, it seems like I had the wrong impression of you. But could we talk this later, it's better we deal with the Fogriun first."
This girl here, despite having high-level gears. It seems like she wasn't that strong at all. Because if she was somewhat a veteran in fighting monsters, surely she would notice the Fogriun early... But that might not be true as I didn't see her true fighting skill yet.
With that, I could conclude that this wasn't a player at all. Just a random NPC that had a powerful gear with them. As there's no way a player could behave like that at all. Still, I am not 100% sure on that, only 80%...
The both of us move very carefully, tried to determine the location of the other Fogriun or we could just wait for them to appear. But it would a very risky move as the only time the Fogriun make itself visible would be the time it was in our range to attack us.
Of course, if someone has a faster reaction, that would be no problem as they could easily dodge it or kill the Fogriun at that moment.
"If the Fogriun wouldn't show itself, I guess the only way to make them appear was using force..." The girl said that.
What does she mean by that? By force... I didn't understand at all.
