Chapter 41 - The Refinement of a Point

"The sky was rend in two, the precious creatures of old were released, be vigilant; be wary."

"Oh crap, I forgot about Auden; did my only servant die already!?" Exclaimed Imogen as she looked around the barren, blue room and spotted Auden sitting in one of the only two chairs. "Auden?" "How did you get here Auden, did you leave me to die?" Inquired Imogen while shaking awake the sleeping Lich.

"What... oh, I'm sorry my lady; my eyes got weary waiting for you." Yawned Auden as he pushed himself up. "What was your question again, through my slumber; my ears could not hear your callings?" Questioned Auden while rubbing his skinless face.

"You don't even have eyes, so spare me the crap and tell me how you got here." Demanded Imogen as she pointed at Auden's eyeless sockets.

"Actually, I do have eyes; they're just immaterial." Smiled Auden while putting something back into his pocket.

"That's not the question, how did you get here and what did you put in your pocket?" Interrogated Imogen as she looked at Auden in displeasure.

"To be honest, I don't know what I just put in my pocket and I never will." Stated Auden while getting a weird expression on his face.

"You have to obey me Auden, how did you get here; this is the last time I'm asking!" Snarled Imogen as she watched Auden shamble about strangely.

"Ahahaha, come closer and I'll tell you." Cackled Auden while moving towards Imogen with haste. "The truth may be hard to believe and I'd like to catch you if you fall over." Lied Auden as he stood just a few inches from Imogen.

Just tell me already, I don't have much patience and things will go bad if you don't tell me!" Fumed Imogen while watching Auden take something back out of his pocket. "What... that's impossible, you shouldn't be able to do that!" Coughed Imogen as Auden's fateful knife slid into her stomach.

"That's because I'm not Auden you fool, now fall into the aether; let go of your pathetic life!" Grinned "Auden" as he pulled the knife out of Imogen's stomach with glee.

"No, if I'm going to die; I'm sure as hell going to bring you with me!" Raged Imogen while pulling out her halberd and chopping off his arm.

"Hah, bold claim, I can just regenerate any part of my body you damage; I can't die!" Howled "Auden" as he clawed at Imogen's face with unforeseen savagery.

"Even gods can die, you're no exception; you shall soon taste death's sweet embrace!" Roared Imogen while dodging "Auden's" simple attack.

"Auden" tried slashing at Imogen's throat with his newly regenerated arm, his speed was nothing to laugh at as the blow stuck deep even with Imogen trying to dodge it.

"Soon you shall be riddled with wounds and then I'll eat your warm, bleeding corpse!" Chortled "Auden" as he made some creepy smacking noises. "Oh wait, you're already dead. Are you enjoying choking on your own blood?" Sneered "Auden" while looking down to see Imogen's bleeding throat heal over.

"Go to hell!" Cried Imogen as she cut off both "Auden's" legs with extreme precision.

"Gods damn you!" Inveighed "Auden while splatting into the ground. "May your soul be consumed by the elements and never reach the aether!" Seethed "Auden" as he tried to crawl along the ground.

"Should've been smarter, it was pretty easy to cut off your legs; your regeneration sucks." Crooned Imogen while kicking him in the balls.

"This isn't fair, the room here even prevents you from shifting; it should've been your end!" Snarled "Auden" while trying to stab Imogen for the last time.

"Without legs your attacks are meaningless, I hope you rot in the deepest pit of hell!" Snapped Imogen as she ripped off his head with her bare hands and smashed it into the floor, cracking it like an egg.

"It felt so good to kill him, I wish I could feel it again, but as fate would have it; I'm not going to." Sighed Imogen as she looked down at the giant gashes in her stomach.

"My new healing skill is very useful, it's already saved me countless times in the short while I've had it, if not for it; I would be a dead corpse lying on the cold ground." Ruminated Imogen while slowly healing the wounds on her abdominal area.

"How did my intelligence go down, was it because I used Plea To The Vines; what an awful skill." Frowned Imogen while feeling regret strike deep.

"Hello contestant!" "It seems you've passed the second trial, pick up that key on the table over there and head to the third trial at your leisure; but remember you're still racing!" Boomed a voice as Imogen stubbed her toe on the newly placed table.

"I'm going to kill whoever placed that table there, my toe feels like it's about to fall off." Complained Imogen while picking up the key and placing it into her pocket. "The amount of evil people in this world is beyond belief, can't anyone have the common decency to not give me a headache." Suspired Imogen as she broke the table in half.

"I need to get moving, but first I need to eat; why should I let all this perfectly good blood go to waste." Chuckled Imogen while leaning down to feast on the fallen corpse.

"Shit, it saw me; we need to swim as fast as we can, little guy!" Screamed Clarence as he speeded up his swimming pace to the maximum.

The chase of a lifetime had begun, one creature raced for a selfish desire; while the other raced for the primal urge of survival.

"How could such a colossal creature be so fast, at this pace; it'll be upon us in a matter of minutes!" Bellowed Clarence while desperately trying to go faster to no avail.

Every second the Eldest Sea Drake gained ground and the land seemed to get farther away, for fate had already chosen the victor of this race. There was never any hope, from the very beginning; it was to be enacted this way.

Clarence looked back knowing his fate, he knew where he was to end up; but without fear he pressed on. His heart thumped with excitement he had never felt before, the sound was addicting and soon he experienced the thought that this was the perfect way for things to end.

Jaws filled with insatiable hunger clamped down and claimed their due...

-of water, because Clarence had already made it to land.

"Give me The Chosen One, Crimson Of Tenebrosity; I want to devour his flesh now!" Snickered Parรฉnth as he jumped on The Crimson Of Tenebrosity's back.

"You're just a sack of pure might, do you really think you can beat me!" Growled The Crimson Of Tenebrosity while conjuring a giant vortex that sucked Parรฉnth in.

"You'll have to be better than that, I think you should've stayed on land! I kill well in any environment!" Chortled Parรฉnth as he shifted his form and effortlessly jumped out of the vortex.

Blow after blow after blow and both sides weren't faring too well, not to mention how much power The Crimson Of Tenebrosity had to hold back to avoid destroying the entire boat.

"You may think you're winning, but you're not; I'm just weakening you!" Alleged Parรฉnth while getting a good hit on The Crimson Of Tenebrosity.

"It doesn't matter if I die, The Omniscient One will just revive me later; the same can't be said about you!" Thundered Parรฉnth as a floating sword cut through his thick hide.

"Never!" "The Crimson Majesty will be revived and then you'll scurry back under the rocks you arose from, you will not prevail!" Assured The Crimson Of Tenebrosity while cutting off Parรฉnth's head with a killer blow.

"In my last moments I'll spare you the mockery, but know that your clock has run out; you shall all soon crumble." Promised Parรฉnth as he breathed his last.

"All is calm for now, but we must stay vigilant Chosen One; we've been separated from the rest." Affirmed The Crimson Of Tenebrosity while looking out at the miles upon miles of ocean surrounding them.

"So, how are you today? I'm good too; thank you." Mumbled The Omniscient One as he glared at a squirrel. "I still can't believe that the Crimson Majesty chopped me in half, but my sufferance will be worth it for I've faith that my loyal subjects will finish the job." Muttered The Omniscient One while tearing off the squirrel's head.

"Fucking stupid creature, this is why the world should burn; nothing could ever look at me like that again!" Scowled The Omniscient One as he shoved a rabbit into his mouth and ate it. "They all envy my gift, I can see their future; but never mine!" Proclaimed The Omniscient One while feeling his body get ever closer to becoming whole once again.
