"Divale!" the Princess heard a voice calling her from the hallway.
She met eyes with the werewolf standing in front of her and before she could even blink, he had jumped over the rail and down to the ground.
The Princess gasped and ran after him, her eyes searched for him down in the dense garden but she saw only the flash of a shadow.
"Divale!" Lady Eebelle walked into the balcony.
"What are you doing here?!" she asked as she looked down the balcony to see what was so fascinating to the Princess.
"Divi! What's wrong?!" Lady Eebelle pulled the Princess's shoulder.
Princess Divale snapped back into reality and she saw her cousin standing right in front of her.
"W-what?!" the Princess blurted out in a dazed state.
"Have you already started to drink alcohol or did you hit your head in a brick wall?" Lady Eebelle frowned.
"What?" the Princess was confused.
"Do you remember who you are? Repeat after me, Divale. I am Crown Princess Divale of Urankia," Lady Eebelle motioned for her to repeat.
"Cut this hogwash! Have you lost it?! I am perfectly fine!" the Princess sneered.
"Why are you yelling at me? You were the one who was acting like you've seen a ghost or something" Lady Eebelle pouted.
She did see something horrifying, but not a ghost, a horrifyingly stunning male werewolf.
"What is it, Eebelle? Why were you screaming my name as though I have vanished from the surface of the earth?!" the Princess asked.
"Uh, right. Why did I come looking for you again?!" Lady Eebelle scratched her head in confusion.
"When you fill your head with so much nonsense, how do you expect to remember the important things?!" the Princess rolled her eyes.
"Forget about it, you're useless!" she scoffed and walked out of the balcony.
"Oh, yeah! I remember now! Your presence is needed in the ball, it's time for-"
All of a sudden, a huge bell was rung and Lady Eebelle screamed in excitement.
"It's time for the royal dance, Divale! Come! Come!" Lady Eebelle dragged the Princess by the arm and ran down the hall.
When they got to the royal hall, all the young vampires were standing on the stage in a synchronized position.
Lady Eebelle and the Princess quickly ran to the stage and stood in their positions.
"Where did you run off to so suddenly, Divale?" Prince Kelle who was directly in front of her asked.
"Excuse me for my behavior, brother. I...um..."
To save Princess Divale from explaining herself, the drums started playing and at once, silence filled the hall room.
At the same moment, the vampires started to dance to the tune being played. They all moved in sync as though they were one, it was as though they practiced it beforehand.
This was called the Royal Dance of The Young. A dance composed by the former King to unite the kingdoms which made up Urankia.
As a royal child, your first lesson would be to learn how to dance the Royal Dance because it was always performed at royal events.
It was a dance, a sign, and a movement that the fifty-five kingdoms come together as one to perform in unity.
Everyone knew this dance by heart which was why they could all perform it in perfect sync as the music played on.
After the first part, it was time to change partners and the custom was the males must always go to the females which is why all the males moved a step to the right and their partners were changed.
The Princess was now dancing with Earl Maneder and he slid a pompous smile towards her direction which made her roll her eyes.
The dance went on until they changed partners successfully about four times.
The dance was also a way of courtship. As the dance went on, the vampires were free to make conversation with their partners and if they were interested, a marriage proposal could be made during the dance.
After the dance ended, the ceremony was over. The Princess has successfully debuted and been crowned the status of the Crown Princess.
After bidding the guests farewell with an everlasting smile on her face, the Princess was beyond exhaustion from the events of this evening.
With a snap of her fingers, she ordered.
"Guards, get me a pavilion to take me to my room, my feet can't touch the ground anymore,"
As per her orders, a grand pavilion was brought by the guards and they positioned it right in front of the Princess so her feet wouldn't touch the ground as she wished.
With the help of a guard, she got into the pavilion and sat inside then she was carried by four guards back to her room as Lady Precelle walked beside her.
The pavilion was then placed right before her bed as she got up out and laid on her bed.
"Precelle, take these off me," she ordered and Lady Precelle moved to work.
She helped the Princess take off all her ornaments and necklaces.
Then a bath was prepared for her in which she was undressed and soon enough, Lady Precelle was combing the Princess's tangled locks as her body was being refreshed in the hot water.
The Princess's thoughts went to the werewolf she saw on the balcony.
Who was he? And why was he here?
As she recalled his enchanting eyes, a chill went down her spine because she was left awed by his presence.
"Has the water gotten cold, my Princess?" Lady Precelle took notice and asked right away.
"No, it's fine," the Princess replied.
She remembered his flawless skin, the thick muscles, and the way his body felt under her palms.
She recalled the way his huge hands wrapped sound her waist as he held her up and a smile couldn't help but dance on her lips.
Isn't it funny? Although she almost died, the Princess loved every minute of it.
She remembered the way his lips spread into a smirk when she got flustered and her heartbeats went a degree faster when she played his voice in her head over and over again.
"Privacy" she ordered and at once, Lady Precelle left the room.
"Who was he?" the Princess asked out loud.
"He was undoubtedly a slave but whose slave? He can't be from the palace because I have never seen him before so who brought a slave to the ball?" She mused.
"Whoever he is, I will find him and when I do," She smirked.
"He will be mine," she vowed as a bright smile fell upon her face.
For the first time, the Princess didn't think of her parents before she made such a daring promise.
