Neither it was an earth shattering kiss nor a hungry one. But it was more like a gentle and soothing one which was enough to make a shiver run down Katherine's spine...
What it seemed like half a minute, then only the couple broke their first kiss… that too after hearing the clapping sounds of the guests present in the hall..
They both pulled away a little but their eyes were still not able to be apart from each other.
Katherine had a shy look with a lots of emotions bulging through her eyes while Ethan had an unreadable expression on his face.
It was only when their families came towards them to congratulate the new couple, their sweet moments took a small pause..
"Congratulations princess. I can't believe that this little daughter of mine has become so big that she's now someone's wife." Mr. Blackwood said while hugging his daughter tightly.
A small teardrop made it's way out of his eyes and fell on Katherine's bare shoulder which made her come out of her father's hold.
Seeing her father with teary eyes, Katherine too felt like crying. But she calmed herself down as she knew very well that she needed to be the stronger one among her family members.
Her father and other family members loved her way too much to send their daughter away without crying out a river.
She wiped her father's tears gently and tried to console him, "Dad.. It's not like I'm going to another planet that you're being so emotional. I'll be living in the same city as yours. You can visit me anytime you want."
Mr. Blackwood patted his daughter's head lovingly and said, "I know that darling. And don't worry. I have my not so beautiful wife to occupy my head for the whole day. So I'll not get time to miss you so much."
As soon as he completed his sentence, they heard a female angry voice from their other side, "Did you just say that I'm not beautiful?"
Mr. Blackwood literally gulped his saliva, seeing his wife angry and he knew very well that if he didn't take any action right now, the volcano could blast at any moment.
"Hehehe.. No wifey. I can never say that. You are and will be the most beautiful woman of the world. I just meant to say that our daughter is not looking anywhere less than you today." Mr. Blackwood tried to pacify his angry wife and it really did work.
A big smile replaced the scowling twitch on Mrs. Blackwood's lips as she proudly stated, "Obviously, my daughter will look the most beautiful bride of the decade when she has got the trait from her mother, as in from me itself…"
"Narcissist much!" Mr. Blackwood lowly muttered so that it could be audible only for his daughter but Ethan too heard it and a chuckle escaped out of his mouth.
Katherine too smiled at her father's comment, knowing very well about her parents' sweet bickering.
Whereas Mrs. Blackwood just shot an angry glare towards him and said before ignoring her husband completely "Now move from my way. I can't even hug my daughter properly because of you blocking her."
The second Mr. Blackwood moved a little, Mrs. Blackwood pulled her daughter into a bone crushing hug and muttered in her ears, "You have now become an integral part of another family. So treat them well and also take care of yourself properly...
Both your father and I have made you independent. So don't be afraid to raise your voice against any wrong treatment. Though I'm sure that Ethan and his family will love you a lot but it was still my job as your mother to give you an assurance that your parents will be always by your side no matter what the situation is."
Katherine smiled brightly at her mother and mumbled softly while reciprocating the hug with same amount of love, "I know Mom. And don't worry, I'll always be reliable on both of you whenever I can't choose between wrong or right."
"That's like my girl..!" Her mother said before kissing her forehead lovingly.
Ethan could clearly notice the beautiful bond Katherine shared with her parents and it somehow made him jealous over her..
*Ahem* *Ahem*
A cough interrupted their sweet family time and their eyes diverted towards Ethan's parents who were standing beside him with a fake smile on their face.
"I think, it's time for them to cut the cake and then give a toast to everyone." It was Mr. Jones who said this.
Everyone nodded their head at him while the couple were ushered towards the table where the beautifully decorated three tire cake had been kept along with a bottle of champagne.
The whole ceremony didn't take too much time as there were very few guests who attended their wedding as it was close knit one.
Only few family members and very close friends were the one who had been invited in that auspicious day of the couple's life as Ethan's family wanted it this way..
"Oh My God, Kathy! I still can't believe that you really have betrayed me so big like this!" Came a shrill voice from their behind which made the couple turn their heads towards that particular someone's direction.
