Young Jayden was having a rough night. He went into a disturbing slumber and would wake up. Something was in his room.
TAP! TAP! TAP! Someone tapped on his window. It was an impossible thing. His room was on the first floor and there were no trees or anything to support anyone up there. It took a lot of effort for him not to scream. He moved away from the window.
His heart was beating somewhere near his adam's apple. And then he saw it. It was some sort of bird. This wasn't like any bird he knew or saw and birds don't usually tap windows at night. He moved away from his window. He grabbed his pillow and decided he would sleep on floor, away from window and the door. He moved back just to see his door moving. It moved like someone was playing with it. Back and forth, back and forth. Sudennly it closed with a loud slam and Jayden felt that he couldn't breathe anymore.
There was a mysterious whisper in his room. It was creepier as it wasn't a whisper actually but it was like wind speaking to him in its own language. It wasn't windy and the wind was blowing from inside and not from the window. Jayden had both his hands on his mouth so that no sound could leave it. Maybe if he had said his parents about the amulet, things would have been different and he would have his parents at his back. But he himself wasn't aware of the reason why he was hiding it. Things were getting creepier. He didn't belong to a religious family so he didn't know anything about the demons and possessions. He was praying. He was praying for the night to end and the Sun to reappear to in the sky. He didn't know if he wanted to go back near the window or not. So he just sat there, in the middle of his room, hugging the pillow as if it was his life.
His eyes were wide open and his ears were working hard. A small noise would give him a heart attack. He was just sitting when his left hand started burning. It was too much pain. It felt like someone was cutting his veins and adding salt over it. The pain was too much. He was biting his right hand in order to stop himself from screaming. Tears were rolling down his cheeks. He was sobbing silently.
The pain lasted for around 10 minutes. But for Jayden, those 10 minutes were more than 10 hours. Even though his hand was not burning, it was like something was prickling it. Jayden was hugging his hand and crying. The tears were flowing and he had no control over them.
"Mom! Dad! Believe me! I am not lying." He whispered, still sobbing. " I am not paranoid. You can ask Jacob too." he was whispering to himself now. "Braylan?Bray! Buddy! Don't to believe me? Have I ever lied?" But it wasn't silence that greeted his whisperings. Someone giggled. Then there was another giggle.
"Who's there?" Jayden asked in a low, shaky whisper.
Giggle..
"Sh..show show yourself!"
Stairs creaking
"Hello! Is anyone here?" He said standing. He saw someone moving quickly, away from his door. He mustered up all his strength and courage. He stood up and took a small step.
Giggle
"Braylan, is that you?" He heard footsteps running away from his room. He started walking towards the door.
BANG!! The door slammed shut just after he stepped out. He heard a man's laughter.
"Daddy, is that you?" He felt like he was a small kid. He felt the same fear of unknown, he felt five years ago. But then his parents believed him. Now he was alone. He kept walking. He reached Braylan's room. It was empty .
"BRAYLAN!!BRAY! " he tried calling but silence. He walked towards his parents' room. The door was ajar and it was empty too.
"MOM! DAD! WHERE ARE YOU?"
Silence.
He started running towards the stairs. He ran downstairs. He was in a forest. It was really dark. He wasn't alone now. Jacob was with him. Both of them started walking, trying to find a proper path and find the way out.
"How did you come here?" Jayden asked. But Jacob remained silent. "I am asking you something!" Jacob turned towards him and his eyes were hollow. He wasn't happy at all. He didn't even seem to recognise Jayden. So Jayden decided to keep quiet. They could see a path in the light coming from the moon. But it seemed like the light was flickering. It wasn't natural. They would see the path in light and when the light flickered, the path would disappear and reappear somewhere else. Nevertheless, they kept walking, not giving up. Jayden was out of breath. He was scared. He wanted Jacob to talk to him. But there was something unnatural about Jacob. They way he was walking. It was like he was mesmerized by something. He wasn't even out of breath and seemed really calm.
"What is happening, Jacob?" he tried his luck once again and instead of getting an answer fro Jacob, they were suddenly surrounded by many creatures. It was hard to describe them. They were not humans and they weren't animals either. It was a boy that caught Jayden's eyes. He looked familiar and he was the only creature that Jayden could recognise. He was smoky and he looked worried. But the other creatures were pushing him back and trying to take his place. These creatures were gliding in the air. Jayden was cold. He was shivering. He turned to see how Jacob was but Jacob was no where to be seen. He was alone. The creatures were trying to get him. But there was some barrier that protected him.
"It's not the time. We have to wait." Jayden had never heard such a voice in his life. It was really harsh and it felt like the speaker would rip anyone just to enjoy.
