"You wished for this life, don't you remember?"
Rose stared at the speaker, a large black cat with the most golden eyes she'd ever seen. was sitting on her bed, talking to her.
"What?"
"You wished on a star for a better life, my star to be exact. I was just passing through your boring realm when your heartfelt wish called to me like a siren. You see, the Princess you have replaced would have in two weeks time have caused a war with the elves when she refused to marry Price Caleb. So, i took the chance to go looking for a replacement. Someone who wasn't a bratty little girl who also held magic. I was beginning to give up hope when your magic wish called to me. So I figured I'd kill two birds with one stone. I took your soul and put it her body. You're welcome."
Rose stared for a long time at the cat, not believing what she was hearing.
"I know, you think you're dreaming right? Can't say I blame you for that, I didn't think I'd have to ask your permission, and even if this was a dream, what if you could make it real? Make this your life?"
Rose thought for a moment, what did she have to loose really? If she was dreaming, something would awaken her eventually and if she was not, well then here was the very thing she had wished for, a better life.
"Okay cat, say I buy into this whole new life thing? What's the catch? No one does anything for anybody without a reason. So what do I have to di?"
the cat grinned an incredibly wide grin, "Boy you catch on fast. First of all my name is not cat, its system. You're right about the catch. You will have to complete tasks that I will give to you. Completing the tasks has rewards. Fail them at your peril."
"But won't people think i'm crazy talking to a cat?"
" No one besides you can see or hear me. when you are ready to start your first task, call for 'system' that's me and then tasks. So what do you say? Are you in?"
Figuring she had nothing to lose she shook his outstretched paw.
