City V
A majestic, grand castle stood in full glory on the top of a mountain. It spread far and wide, covering thousands of acres of land.
The castle was well-maintained with flowers blooming here and there on the walls. Certain rare species of plants could be seen in the garden.
A huge fountain stood after entering the huge gates. Servants worked all the time in shifts not slacking at any duty.
One look at the castle and anyone could imagine that the owner knew how to live their life well.
City V was said to be full of forests and vegetation. The climate was good all year round. Various successful bosses had small properties here. But, bigger the land, more authority was required to live here.
So everyone was cautious of the people behind this castle which stood arrogantly, seemingly looking down at everyone.
In one of the big balconies of the castle, facing the sea, a couple sat together, having tea.
They seemed to be enjoying each other's presence, consciously or unconsciously isolating themselves from everything around them.
The woman seemed to be around 40 years old, but years did not take a toll on her body. Instead, she looked beautiful and classy with a bright smile that could make anyone blush red. She had a smooth skin and well maintained figure. Her black eyes twinkled with a witty feeling.
Next to her, a man sat calmly drinking tea. His eyes were deep, dark purple colored, full of wisdom, even more than all the old people. Anyone who went in front of him would feel himself seen through thoroughly. He had a well maintained, muscular body unlike others around his age.
The couple seemed to fit each other, their presence complementing, like a king and queen.
They were Mrs. and Mr. Long, the heads of the Long Family since years.
They actually had lived for 590 and 600 years respectively. Their youth was also one of a kind.
Now they were older and had four children. Nevertheless, they never stopped enjoying themselves while giving full love and support to each other.
As years went by, the two seemed to have become one, with no words required to understand each other impeccably.
They were the idols for their children.
At this time, Mr. Long was looking towards the sky with an anxious expression on his face. Mrs. Long saw where she was looking and her smile faded a little, replacing it with a worried and anxious look too.
A few minutes of silence passed by. Mr. Long sighed heavily, "It's nearing. It won't be long before everything will be destroyed."
Mrs. Long heard him and also looked towards the clear blue sky, seemingly looking at something. "It's huge. Coming with such a great speed... I don't know what the future holds for us."
Mr. Long looked at his beloved wife deeply, seemingly memorising her every feature in his heart. "Will you regret this?"
Hearing this, a breathtaking smile slowly formed on the beautiful woman's face, "As long as I am with you, I will never regret anything. Everything is incomplete without you."
The older man focused on her face, as if trying to look for even the slightest hint of hesitation. Few seconds later, a similar smile formed on his face, blinding the woman, "Yes, everything is incomplete without you."
Actually the Long Family ancestors had given more than one prophecy.
Other than the prophecy of finding their mates on Earth, the Long ancestors also had seen something in the future. They had seen earth been broken down, directly blasted by a foreign object. Everything was full of destruction.
So, they took up the responsibility to guard the Earth. With their exceptional powers, they had seen that thing coming nearer and nearer to Earth. And, they had already prepared for this throughout the years.
It's just that, there is a difference between planning and execution. While planning, everything seemed easy to do with no pain or struggle at all. But it is during execution that one will know how painful and difficult it is when huge sacrifices had to be made.
Mr. Long pulled his wife into his embrace, like he had done for those previous hundreds of years. He patted her slowly and gently on the back. Mrs. Long looked up at him through the embrace and held his other hand between hers.
"The children will be sad. They won't forgive us for this."
"They will understand with time. They have a complete lifetime ahead of them with their mates."
"Hmm. I had seen Xiao-You's mate's picture. He looks like such a good boy. He's so much full of perseverance. Xiao-Lei also has a special mate. They had bonded so much earlier through magical bond. He must be powerful too because of some effect of magical bond on him. Mating could easily increase their age to 600 years. But after that... I'm worried."
Mrs. Long was worried for her two sons. For her sons' happiness she did not mind that their mates were males and that they could not have more offspring. But, she did not want her sons to lose their happiness because of the death of their mates.
"Let's see what fate has for both of them. They will definitely find a way. You must believe our sons." Mr. Long consoled her, patting her back again. They both looked towards the setting Sun in the horizon.
Suddenly, Mrs. Long thought of something and she again looked at her husband, her eyes bright.
"Why don't we… leave each drop of our heart's blood for them… Their lifespan will definitely increase up to our sons. And before going… we can at least do something for our son-in-laws."
Mr. Long smirked and looked at the woman in his arms, "As the wife says."
Mrs. Long elbowed him lightly in his stomach, and of course, Mr. Long won't care about the human-like strength.
"Lei has been bottled up in his mansion for 15 years now in order to increase his strength. He only comes out during thunderstorms to absorb energy. Should we help him this time?"
She then mischievously giggled, "He must be shocked to know that his parents had the way to improve his strength so that he could get in contact with his mate."
Mr. Long gave her a pampering look and then his expression changed.
"That boy wanted to take advantage of our son-in-law when he was young. Hmph! Fat chance! Now that the son-in-law must be about twenty or twenty-one then he can get the permission to chase him. If one day I get to know that he has forced our son-in-law, I will personally cripple him."
Mrs. Long also showed a similar look as him and suddenly gritted her teeth.
"That boy Long You unluckily had too much brain to chase our eldest son-in-law. Hmph! Luckily we got the news on time that he had followed his wife to M-City. So we bound him through the special lock. However much he claims about having control, I won't trust him at all. Especially if he has a father like you."
Mr. Long coughed after suffering from a shot in the crossfire. He still couldn't object to her.
So he very intelligently diverted her attention.
"You gave him the permission this time?"
"Yes. Now that the son in law is 23, he can chase him. Otherwise he may be chased by other humans. After all, he is so talented and handsome."
"Now let's give that thing to Lei next time we meet him. Let this be his last wait. And… we don't know what destiny has for everyone. Xiao-Lei can protect him if something bad happens."
Mrs. Long silently hums.
She thinks about something and her eyes suddenly water. Her grip on her husband's hand tightens.
"Our Jiao-Jiao is still small. Such a tiny and clever kid. Who will protect him… He hasn't even gotten full control over his powers. And out Xiao-Ying… She is mature but still not actually much older after all. We could still protect her. What will happen after we go?"
"They are brave and good kids. We should trust them. They will definitely never be taken advantage of... And we will send them to Long You before going. He will definitely protect them. And it seems like Xiao-Junjie is trained in the military. He is a capable sharp-shooter and not weak at all. Xiao-Lei still has to find his husband. So he must be busy."
Mrs. Long was somewhat satisfied. "Let's tell Lei to find his mate ahead of time. We don't know what the future holds for us. Let's not regret later."
Mr. Long simply hummed.
They both decided to go to Long Lei that night itself.
