Ivy's POV
I was honestly glad that Jackie didn't mind letting me go so quick. I wouldn't have made up such a good excuse as to why I'm leaving, that was Ian's specialty, not mine.
Walking out of the school, I caught a glimpse of Ramon, deciding to go after him, without him knowing... I'm such a good friend.
Sure, it might be called being 'nosy' but I'm just trying to keep him out of trouble, something I've been doing since... since we became friends. Though at some points can't really stop him from doing the stupid things he does, it's a package deal.
I remember this one time we went to the theater and he made us sneak into the room while no one was there so we could mess with the volume and everything. We ended up getting caught, though it was worth the look on their faces.
I couldn't hear much about what they were talking because I was still far behind them, not that it kept me from loosing track.
The blonde guy with him seemed to be looking annoyed, probably cause he said something idiotic, but like I said, it's a package deal. I don't know why, but for some reason, they just kept goon deeper and deeper into the forest.
If it weren't for the determined look on their faces, I would've thought they were getting themselves lost. I don't know how people knew their way around the trees and everything else... for me it seemed almost impossible.
The trees all look alone and there's nothing that could possibly tell you where to go, which turns to take.
"It's not my problem" I managed to make out the blonde say "you were the one that started it"
Okay, I'm eavesdropping on them, but as long as it gives me even the slightest clue to what they were doing... than so be it. I wasn't about to let some stupid explosion determine whether or not I could keep my friendships.
It already cost me to loose half of my friends, I wasn't going to loose the only one that wasn't effected.
Feeling something on my arm, I turned around, only to find a small bug. Taking my hand I tried to get it away from me, only to fall back onto the ground, tripping on some sort of rock.
I was glad I didn't land on anything that would've made too much noise, because by the looks of it, they didn't seem bothered. They just kept walking ahead, not looking back.
Getting back on my feet, I went after them, hiding behind some trees and bushes, curiosity getting the best of me.
I watched as they took a turn, following suit, but to my surprise I count see them anywhere... It was as though they disappeared. A confused look made its way to my face as I walked around the area, skimming my eyes over every inch, only to find nothing.
It took a quick second for me to realize, but soon enough, I remembered I wasn't on the road; I was in the woods. Asking over, I tried to retrace my steps, knowing the sooner I try to get back, the longer I don't have to stay here.
I knew it wasn't an option to freak out because it never got me anywhere, except for therapy, but that's a story for another time. As I walked forward, all I could see were the same identical trees, I didn't know where I was...
'Maybe I should've just stayed with Jackie' I thought to myself as I kept up a steady pace, trying to think about what turns I took.
After about fifteen minutes, I gave up, knowing for a fact I was lost at this point. Grabbing my phone out of my jeans pocket, I dialed Reta's number, having a feeling she would've been more help then the rest.
I thought she would pick up, but she didn't, instead it went straight to voicemail. Scrolling down I went with Ian's number this time, not wanting mom to get more angry than she already was... the same thing happened, it went to voicemail.
For the last time, I decided to dial moms number... the last one I could turn to considering Ramon never had a phone, saying something about it being a waste of time, space and money.
I was caught off guard when for the first time, it went straight I voicemail. I knew Ian might've just turned his phone off... he even blocks me so it wasn't a surprise. Reta? She would've kept her phone at home when she was in school... mom on the other hand would've had it on her ever second, just waiting for me to call, which I didn't.
I kept moving round as I payed with my phone, trying to text them, though they never delivered... I knew at that point, I was alone.
It was probably lunch time and the only thing I could find were berry's, nothing but berry's... more specifically nightshade berry's.
I've read about them in some science book, though I forgot what it was on... maybe survival? Could be.
Walking over, I picked one, eating it, seeing as I was practically starving. I don't know how long I've sat at the same spot for, but I knew that the sun was going to set in a while, leaving me in the darkness... something I hated.
If you watches scary movies, you'd know that staying alone in the forest at night wasn't exactly the best thing you could be doing.
