Chapter 23 - Dieza Witches

Third person's POV,

"Bang! Bang!!," A loud bang sounded from a room that was void of any light.

Inside the room was an ancient-looking sarcophagus; which was where the bang was resonating from.

The room was dark, but the person who laid in the coffin could see clearly through the hole in the top of the casket.

He didn't know how he got there, and he couldn't understand what was going on. He tried to scream but no sound was coming out of his mouth.

All he could do was continued to bang on the casket with all his might, trying to catch the attention of the people passing by.

He could clearly hear footsteps and also voices coming from somewhere close, but no matter how much he banged on the wooden casket, no one came answering him.

The mind of the person inside the casket was blank, he wasn't thinking about anything, it's like he couldn't even if he wanted to.

He couldn't hear what the voices were saying, but he felt he knew the voice that was speaking.

Darhl laid back in his bed still smiling at the call he just finished receiving, feeling amused by the way she was trying to act feisty.

"You shouldn't imagine that you have any control over my life just because I signed a damned contract with you or whoever it was, the only thing you get and would ever get from all this is the title of being my husband, so you better stop getting ideas that you could be something more," the words she had just said continued to replay in his head.

"Maybe I've been too lenient, something I hardly ever do," Darhl said before getting up to go downstairs.

However, when he was about to leave, he noticed Glamour's bag in the room, he then stopped and stared at it for a while.

He went towards it like he was going to open it, but then his phone rang, and he stopped and picked up the phone.

"Larry's body has gone missing," the person on the other end of the phone said after Darhl answered the phone.

"What do you mean Larry's body has gone missing," Darhl asked calmly, but he was nothing close to that.

"He was here, just a minute ago, and then he wasn't the next minute I swear I watched him disappear into thin air," the guy said.

Darhl upon listening to that yelled a few profanities, before walking out of the room in fast strides.

He went outside the cabin not minding the scorching sun as it burns his skin slightly.

The heat from the sun doesn't do much damage to the skins of a vampire, but they do get a slight burn from staying under it for longer than few seconds.

The reason why they avoid the sun is that whenever they get burnt from the sun, it leaves a very nasty scar that takes weeks to completely heal, and also been under the sun reduces their ability to use their super speed.

But Darhl didn't care about the scar right now as he went to the place where his car was parked. He quickly got into his wine red Bentley and drove off to the place he knew Larry's body was probably going to be.

It was a huge building that looked completely old from the outside, it could easily pass as an abandoned house from the way the paintings on the walls were beginning to peel off, even the windows looked broken from the outside.

But when Darhl walked into the building, it looked completely different from what it appeared to be from the outside.

The old building was no longer what it appears to be, what looked abandoned from the outside was now an entire village filled with different creatures on the inside.

Inside the building, different forms of creatures carried on with their activities not minding Darhl that walked in carelessly, not looking the least bit scared.

The creatures in that place were fairies, trolls and a few other creatures, but the only human there were the witches.

Behind the doors of the old building was a different world, a world ruled by the Dieza witches. The old building was only an illusion they used to hide the world from unwanted eyes.

Not just anyone could get to see the world behind the old rusty doors except if they received an invitation from the witches.

But Darhl doesn't need one because he was once someone who use to live there, and he knew they must have taken Larry just because they needed him to come over to that place.

The village was like an island, with beautiful green grasses, and a well-tended garden of flowers.

The world looked like a place from the old times, even the dresses worn by the witches was a form of clothing from ancient times.

The village used to belong to the fairies, but they gave it to the witches after their queen died in an attack that happened when a dark entity tried to take over their world, but the witches saved them.

Some of the fairies were like humans, except for the huge colourful wings on their backs. The trolls were little creatures, but most of them were static like a stone statue since it was the afternoon.

The sun in that world surprisingly didn't do anything to Darhl's skin, so he could use his speed, but he didn't, he walked looking straight at the cave that was in front of him with a murderous look in his eyes.

Besides the cave, was a waterfall that was falling elegantly into a lake that had a few mermaids inside it.

The mermaids were the only ones ogling at Darhl as he walked past them and went into the cave where the leader of the Dieza witches is.

The mermaids are the only nosy creatures in that place. Since they had never left that environment before, they were always excited whenever they see someone new.

***

Inside the cave, was a castle made of old bricks, and it had two female fairies at its entrance, and they tried to stop Darhl from going inside until a voice spoke saying, "let him in."

The fairies which both had different colours of wings representing their specialty, stepped aside to let Darhl into the castle.
