You know, in fairytales, the knight would save the princess and turn out to be the prince of some big kingdom and live happily ever after. NOT turn out to live in a barn (Barn? Yes. A barn.) behind an old building.
"Uh...you live here?" I asked
He nodded.
"It's very cozy" I said as I walked around the sheep walking into the barn.
"It's a barn and it smells. Is your sense of smell okay?" He asked behind me.
"I was-" I turned and saw him lay his helmet on the window panel.
He had dark purple hair that reached the top of his eyes which were a light green. He had a sharp face but still managed to look friendly in a way. In other words...cute?
"Please don't stare too much" he said as he covered his now red face. "It's embarrassing"
Yup. Definitely cute.
I turned around and looked around the barn. There wasn't much other than the stack of haya with a thin blanket over it. Oh! And the pile of sheep around it. Other than the animals outside, there wasn't anything else.
"Is this really where you live?" I asked
"Yeah. I'm sorry. If you don't want to sleep here for the night, I can lend you some money for a room somewhere." He said
I waved the idea off "Nah. It's fine. I'm used to the noise because of a certain snorer and I'll get used to the smell."
"If you think so" he mumbled
The sun had started setting and was turning into a deep orange as it went down. The pink clouds were gently passing by accompanied by the dark blue sky.
"Looks like it's time to get settled in." he said as he layed down on the hay covered by the blanket. "You should lay next to me. I think it'll start getting cold later at night."
I sat next to him "You think? Shouldn't we find another blanket then?
He shook his head "It'll be fine. You'll see"
We layed next to each other for a while before he asked me "Why are you here?"
"What do you mean? You asked me to be here" I replied. Was I supposed to say no?
"I mean in Recht. I know you're not a tourist" he said
I stayed silent before he said "You don't need to tell me. I was just curious"
"I'm just here to save my sister and friends. The rest...I don't know"
"The rest?" He asked
"I guess we're trying to find something but we don't know what it is" I said
"That's confusing" he laughed
I laughed along with him. "It is"
I started shivering from a sudden gust of wind. He was right. Now that the sun had completely gone down, it was cold as hell.
He looked down at me and pulled me closer.
I blushed and looked up in surprise "what-"
"Just wait" he said
The sheep that were sleeping next to us got up and layed next to us. Several more came in and gathered near us.
It was so warm I could just…
I felt a thump on my chest and looked down to see the beauty I found today sleeping comfortably next to me. I felt a sense of pride that I could provide at least this much for him.
I felt a bit ashamed at first for bringing him here but now…
I'm just so happy!
I laid my head atop of his head and fell into a deep sleep.

Looking around, I see nothing but dirt and red splatters. The sky was covered in red and white stars. On the left and right were two silver moons.
I stepped forward. Then, another. And another. Before I knew it, I was walking through a battlefield. How I knew this is a battlefield, I don't know.
Wait. I'm going faster. I'm running.
I know here I'm heading. I have a destination.
Running past a field of dead bodies, I ran towards the mass of people fighting and continued the war raging between friends and family.
I watch as everyone I once knew kills each other.
Why? How did this happen?
"Siel!" Someone yelled
I turned back but before I could see who it was, my vision became blurry and I blacked out.
