We walked through the woods tied up to the horses. Guards watched us from the back and front, leaving us no breathing room. I can literally feel someone breathing down my neck right now.
"Why didn't you tell us that we aren't allowed to cross towns?" I asked Terra
"Would you still have come if you'd known?" He asked
"Yes!" I said "We have nowhere else to go!"
"Oh…"
"Just trust us a bit more next time" Luna said
"Got it…" he said
"Anyways, why can't we move between towns?" I asked
"The only rule that was given to our ancestors was to not interact with the other weapons. After the shut down, as you call it, people are now paranoid that even worse things will happen to us if we break that one rule."
"So, then, what's going to happen to us?" Luna asked
Terra sighed "I'm guessing that I will be sent back to Sud. I'm not sure what'll happen to you guys"
"The blue and red heads will be questioned then executed if necessary" one of the guards in front of us answered
"Executed?!"
"Red head?!"
I looked over at Luna. Seriously…
"Why executed?" Luna asked "Why can't you let us go?"
"If you keep talking, we'll kill you all now" the horse rider yelled down at us
We all shut up and rode to Recht in silence.
I had finished my business and gone back to the trail but didn't see anyone waiting there.
Grr! If Estrella left without me, I'm gonna punch her so hard she'll see the stars!
I walked down the trail the others were walking on, hoping that it was the way to the next town. I was swatting bugs off of me when I heard yelling in the trees next to me.
"...we'll kill you all now" someone said
Yeesh! I don't want to be the one receiving that death threat!
Looking through the bushes I see Estrella, Luna, and Terra tied up as prisoners surrounded by many guards.
Of course…
Not wanting to get caught by the guards, I stayed hidden in the bushes while trying to follow them. I wasn't paying attention to where I was stepping and accidentally slammed my foot down on a squirrel's tail. The squirrel squawked loudly and jumped out of the bushes.
"What was that?!" One of the guards asked
Thankfully the squirrel ran in their direction and distracted them from looking in the bushes.
"It was just a squirrel" another said
They kept walking down the road but Estrella kept staring into the bushes where I was crawling. She raised her head at the guards behind her and asked, "So what gave away that we were weapons? Was it our hair?"
"Of course! Unnatural hair is taken into our custody and punished" a guard answered
"Got it?"
Yep!
"Was that a question?" Someone asked
"Nope!"
I continued following them until we were out of the woods. I let them go ahead of me and out of sight before I followed their trail.
There were several houses that started appearing. Deciding to try and blend in with the locals, I grabbed what I thought were short shorts.They weren't shorts...Putting that back I looked for anything else.
There was nothing but women's clothing!
"Hello? Anyone there?" A woman's voice rang from the house.
I looked left and right, trying to find a hiding spot.
A woman with jet black hair came out. I froze in place.
"Uhh…" she started
I jumped through the clothes I was looking through as I ran from them.
"Wait! I'm not going to call the guards on you!" She yelled "I just want to help!"
I stopped running in circles and looked over at her.
"Promises?"
"I promise!" She said
I walked back to her.
"My name's Liebe" she said
"I'm Cielo " I said
Looking at her closer, I can see that she has blue eyes mixed with green. Her hair reached the top of her shoulders and was clearly not cut in a straight line. Her clothes were dirty and worn out. While I was searching through her clothes (please don't get the wrong idea), I also noticed that all her clothes had holes and were torn.
"Why are you helping me?" I asked
"Because...I'm not sure. You just reminded me of my son the second I saw you" she said
"Your son?" I asked
She nodded "He hasn't been home for a long time but I know he's alright."
Probably best not to ask questions. She looks like she's about to break down crying.
"Anyways, are you in a rush? You can rest and eat inside" she said
"I'm sorry but I really need to go. My sister and friends are in trouble" I said
"I understand. I have some of my sons clothes if you'd like to wear them?" She asked
I nodded. Yes please!
The shirt was too big and the pants were falling down. How big is her son exactly? After changing, she gave me a hat to cover my hair.
After saying my goodbyes to Liebe, I said "I promise to come back to hang out again!"
She smiled and waved me off.
