Kimorah
Finishing with the dishes, i went to the laundry room to do the laundry. I started taking out the clothes to wash them and dry them.
I remember when i was a little girl, my mama and i will always do the laundry. After doing the laundry, mama will bake me some cookies along with warm milk. She would also teach me how to cook and sometimes sing me lullabies.
I was jolted back to reality when i heard my step mother call.
Walking into the laundry room and coming towards me and fanning herself with the fancy fan she always holds.
"Didn't you hear me call?" she asked furrowing her brows in frustration.
"I'm sorry mother, i drifted away with my thoughts". I answered her truthfully looking down. I was thought by my mama to always tell the truth no matter the situation I'm in.
"hmmp". She scoffed with a disdained expression. "hurry up and go prepare dinner". She commanded.
"Yes mother". I replied bowing my head respectfully.
She then flipped her fan and then walked out making annoying noise with her squeaky shoes.
I hurriedly did the laundry and headed to the kitchen to prepare dinner.
I started bringing out the ingredients and washing the ones that are washable.
I started cutting the vegetables to make salad. Then i started making meat balls and getting ready to cook the pasta.
I was done cooking within an hour and started serving the dishes for dinner in the dinning area.
While serving the dishes, i heard my papa walk in and then i saw my step sisters run to hug him and then my step mother also went to welcome while i stood at the dinning area watching them.
My father then turned around looking for someone probably me.
"And where is Kim?" my papa asked looking around for me.
"She's serving dinner hunny". My step mother replied sweetly like she was good to me.
My step mother and sisters tend to pretend to like me whenever my dad was around.
I scoffed at how pathetic she is.
"Hello father. How was work?" I said walking towards him and giving him a peck on the cheek.
Then i hear my step sisters snort in disdain.
"Work was fine dear". My father replied pecking my cheek back.
"okay..let's all head to the dinning area for dinner". My step mother said giving me 'stay away from my husband look'.
We all went to the dinning area and sat down and my step mother and i began serving the food.
My step mother then put food on my take smiling at me. I scoffed inwardly at how pathetic she's acting.
"This is delicious you know". My father said with food in his mouth.
"hunny remember not to talk with food in your mouth". My step mother said to my father sweetly.
"Thank you father for the compliment. I learnt from the best". I said to my papa ignoring what my step mother said.
After dinner, i began taking the the plates to the kitchen while Christina and Annabelle joined with at all didn't surprise me because they tend to always act with papa around.
"I can't believe i got my hands dirty with packing the plates". Annabelle said feeling disgusted when we arrived at the kitchen.
"Well Kimorah you better start doing the dishes now because our work here is done". Christina said while walking out as Annabelle followed suit.
I began doing the dishes and humming one of the lullabies my mama taught me.

I continued humming the song with tears in my eyes.
I then laughed and cleaned my eyes and said to myself "all will be well and i believe you mama".
After finishing the dishes, i went up to my room and took a long shower before changing to my night wear and headed for my bed.
I then thought about Jediah and the slept off.
