Waking up the next morning, I felt the slightly warm chain on my neck. It was unusual that I wore the necklace to bed, because, one it wasn't mine, and two I made a habit to take them off so my hair didn't catch on the chain.
Unclasping the necklace, I stared at the interesting pattern. The pendant has a rough circular edge that had an inner compartment, like a locket. However, this locket was a compass that didn't point North. "Such a peculiar thing, where did it come from?" I rubbed my finger over the uneven edge, it was a very detailed compass.
It was silver, which meant it would go with any outfit, so Mother couldn't complain when I wear it. The front face, had engravings of dragons flying and some lying on the ground, but the one I noticed instantly was the Eldest Dragon, he stood on his hind legs watching the others. The landscape was the ancient world before civilization existed. The backside was smooth, resting easily on my collarbone.
