I opened my eyes and found out that I was in the plane. My eyes were blurry and my head felt heavy. Maybe I am just dreaming, but seeing the necklace that I wore, I realized that I was in reality.
I don't have enough strength to cry. My Mom was gone and also my Dad. I was left alone with a grief and misery.
At my side, I saw a brunette middle age woman, Maria, my nanny. She was the one who took care of me when my Mom died. She gave me a small smile and patted my back. I nodded at her and looked away.
"Do you want to eat Gabriela?" she queried with concerned. I gazed at her and shook my head. But instead of following my command, she put a bread on my tray table.
"You need to gather your strength girl. Think about your Dad and Mom. They don't want to see you this way," she encouraged.
Tears escaped in my eyes. I must stay strong in order to avenge my father. I will make them pay for what they had done to him. I will crush them to pieces and make them regret that they cross our ways.
'The Fitzgerald'
The last word that I heard from my Dad. Our competitors and rivals. I gritted my teeth to the thought of them! Disgusting criminals! I may be weak now, but I will comeback for you! And if that time comes, I will promise that you will kneel at me and beg for your life.
Hours passed and we will about to take our landing. I wore a hat and a sunglasses so that nobody can identify me. Maria said that my life is still in danger and we have to be careful. A cab was waiting for us when we got down in a plane.
A young girl about my age welcomed us. She rushed to Maria and embraced her tightly.
"I miss you Mama," said the girl. Tears shimmered on her eyes. I don't know that Maria has a daughter. I was to self centered that I didn't thought the feelings of others. My heart was tugged by this scene.
"I miss you too Darling," replied Maria with longing. Tears ran down on her cheeks. Maria patted her daughter's back that gave her a
comfort feeling.
The girl let go and smiled as she turned to me.
"You must be Gabriela? I'm Ellie Miller, daughter of Maria," she introduced. She has a brunette hair like Maria and her eyes was sparkling brown which reminds me of chocolates.
"Nice to meet you. I'm Gabriela Sullivan," I greeted as we did a handshake.
"Enough with the pleasantries girls. We've got to go," Maria interrupted.
I eyed the cab, it's kind of old, but better old than nothing. We were now in the hometown of Maria which is the Belize. It was so different with place I was use to. This place rather has a lot of trees than buildings. I settled myself in back seat of the car with Ellie by my side while Maria sat on front seat.
I was checking my phone and instanly, I found it hard to breathed when I saw an article.
Business tycoon Enrique Sullivan found dead. Daughter Gabriela Sullivan still missing
My heart was hammering inside my chest and cold creeps enveloped my body. I was clenching my teeth trying not to break down the tears I've been holding. Swallowing it and taking a deep breath. What's the point of crying? I cannot bring back the life of my beloved father no matter how much weeping I make.
"Are you okay Gab?" Ellie queried. Her face was full of concerned.
"No, I'm not okay. But I know, I will be," I replied. Then she embraced me, I was shocked with her action.
"It is okay to cry. Don't worry mama and I will help you Gabriela. We are here for you," and with that I burst out crying.
I cried until no tears left and my head hurt. Today I will mourn the death of my father. But from this day forward, I promise myself that I will not cry anymore. I will seek justice for him and to do that, I must stay strong.
We arrived at Maria's house. It was a small house made of wood, with a simple living and dining area, kitchen and a two bedroom. Ellie and me will be sharing a room. Well, it's a tiny room with two beds, more like my bathroom in our house. But I must not complain, but instead I must be thankful.
Days passed and I stayed only in the Miller's house. I discovered a lot of things about them, that Ellie don't had a father and she stayed at her aunt's house. This house was one of Maria's invested while she was working for us.
I felt tired of staying here, without nothing to do.
"Please Maria. I need to buy something and Ellie will accompany me," I pleaded to her. I want to go out but she said it would be dangerous for me. I never pleaded like this before in my whole life.
"Yes Mama. Don't worry, I will be watching her. And she will be wearing this," Ellie beg as she showed Maria the cap and shades.
Maria sighed and closed her eyes as she think deeply. It took her a minute to gave us her answer.
"Ok, but please be careful girls and don't forget to call me from time to time," she resigned. Ellie and I done a high five. Well, we became close. Closer than Samantha. She is a funny girl and I really like her company. It made me forgot the things that I've been through.
We went to a store and I brought the card that Dad gave me. I have still a lot of money in the bank, with my name on it. If only money can bring back life, but sadly it cannot.
I bought necessary things that I will be need. I bought also a lot of foods and things for Maria's home.
"Wow, it's so tiring already. I didn't know that shopping can be this exhausted," she said while giving me a toothy smile.
"Let's eat?" I suggested.
"An icecream?" she excitedly said.
"Sure," I replied and tugged her to the nearest ice cream cart. We laughed together.
We got home and Maria was displeased because we didn't call her. But when she saw what we brought her, she just shook her head and smiled. An ice cream with three different flavor. This is our favorite pass time back in our home, eating an icecream when you feel stress out.
We were now at our room. Sitting at the chair while Ellie was behind me brushing my hair.
"Are you sure? You really want to do this?" she asked. I brushed my ginger hair with hands and nodded.
"Ok, here we go," she sighed while applying a dye on my hair.
It took an hour to applied a dye and another half to let it dry. The process was done and I showered and blow dried.
I went out the bathroom, a wide grinned form at Ellie's face. I looked at the mirror and saw a brunette girl staring back at me. She is beautiful.
"Gorgeous," Ellie complimented. She was standing behind me.
"Exquisite," I smiled as I raised my brow and tossed my hair.
"You are really beautiful Gab," Ellie shook my shoulder.
"Yeah, I know that Ellie. Don't shake me please," she chuckled.
"Oh, I envy your confidence," Ellie hissed.
I studied myself on the mirror, I look different but not enough to say that I wasn't Gabriela Sullivan. My eyes gazed to a black rimmed glasses lying on a table. I wore it and it's perfect!
"Wow Gabriela. You look really different!" her eyes flickered with amazement.
"Indeed. By the way, just call me Bella," and a smirk formed on my lips.
