"That bastard!" Ria hissed as she entered the room.
Kyle and Anna looked at her, wondering what made her so angry.
"Anna… your uncles and aunts from the branch families are trying to stab us right under our nose. I think they are planning to join hands with other minor shareholders and overthrow us!" Ria explained as she slumped on the bean bag.
"How could they be so heartless?? It hasn't even been a day since they died and they are already planning to stab their back?? No respect, no loyalty.. nothing!!" she hissed.
"Even Uncle Brown is in cahoots with them!! That guy is really a sly fox!" she added.
"Really?" Kyle frowned. He expected this attitude from other relatives but Uncle Brown?
This man has been loyal to his grandfather till now but he abruptly changed sides just after the funeral.
"If he really changes sides, what are the odds of us being overthrown?" Anna asked, as she leisurely sipped her smoothie while scrolling down on her phone.
"Well, it depends on the shareholders. As far as I know, we still stand a chance if we can make the right move" Ria answered. Mr. and Mrs. Danvers were already old and they failed to keep a tight lash on the board members these recent years. Who knows what happened behind their backs?
"But, the meeting is tomorrow," Kyle pursed his lips. It's too late to do anything now!
"This board meeting was to assure our employees not to worry about the company but it seems like this meeting will be the keystone of the company" he mused.
"Yes! Who would have thought that Mr.Brown, that greedy uncle of yours will put us in this situation??" Ria hissed.
"Guys, it is not the time to waste your energy on him!" Anna casually said. She honestly doesn't care about the company as it has nothing to do with her. Even if they lose control of the company it will not affect her even an ounce.
"The best solution is to reveal your real identity and come clean," Ria said.
Who would say no to the person who has her degrees from the top most medical, finance and business universities in the world?
Moreover, Anna is no stranger to the business world. She could easily run a company and besides it, she could also bring tremendous profits to the company with her influence. If she wants to use her connections, she can bring the company into the top 5 companies of the country in a span of months. All she had to do was make a single call.
"No," Anna firmly answered. She would never use her connections for something like this. She doesn't want to waste them for her personal profits.
"Then, years of the hard work of your grandparents and ancestors will be burnt into ashes" Ria scoffed.
"I don't care," Anna shrugged her shoulders.
She is selfish and apathetic and she doesn't deny it.
What happened to her in these past few years made her like this.
After breaking up with Aiden, she made her heart accustomed to detachment and what followed later made her ruthless.
"Sis, please don't be like this. I know that you still hate our grandparents and I understand that, but, do this for me. I want to preserve what our grandparents have built for us" Kyle persuaded desperately as he held Anna's hands in between his.
Anna sighed.
She could not resist her brother. She will never have a heart to say no to him.
"Well, I couldn't say no to my little brother's seldom requests. However, I have a few conditions" she told him.
Kyle nodded his head, serious and desperate. He really doesn't want to place the company in the hands of his uncle and other relatives.
Meanwhile, Ria couldn't help but chuckle inside.
She understood what Anna is doing now. Kyle has always depended on someone for everything and even now, he tried to depend on Anna for running the company.
But, on the other side, Anna wanted Kyle to come out of his comfort zone and test his own potential.
Till now their grandparents protected and supported him but they are no longer here.
And, it's not possible for Anna to look after him every time. Her work won't permit her to do so. Once she returns to her work, she would be immersed in her work 24/7. So, maintaining a company is next to impossible!
So, it leaves Kyle to depend on himself rather than relying on others. Although Ria is here, she is not powerful enough for Kyle to rely on her. Moreover, the eldest miss of Danvers family is infamous for her good for nothing, arrogant and spoiled behavior. She is nothing but a fool who only knows how to rely on her grandparents.
So, Kyle would become a laughing stock if he relies on Anna.
"Go on." Ria nudged when Anna stopped speaking.
"First condition, I will not announce my identity. So, it has to be you who should take over grandfather's position" Anna said.
"But, I am seventeen!! I am not capable of handling the company yet" Kyle deadpanned.
