Tetsuo Naru's POV
"Find me, Tetsuo."
Sfx: Phone Alarm Ringing
"Gah!" I wake up to the sound of my phone ringing, my morning alarm. I got up and reached out for my phone, shutting off the alarm.
As I stood up, I noticed that I woke up from the floor, the sight of a fallen chair in my view. As I slowly put down my phone, a sensation starts appearing around my neck, like something was holding it.
I place my hand near my neck to feel a rope around is tied around my neck. A sudden flash then appears in front of my eyes, a sudden flash of me kicking away the chair under my feet.
"Oh right, I was trying to kill myself." I muttered as I began untying the rope from my neck, putting it on top of my bed. "Another failed attempt."
I began stretching as I walk out of my room, walking towards my fridge. I grabbed a bottle of milk and a box of cereal and I began eating breakfast, pouring milk in an empty glass to drink.
As I chug down the glass of milk, I quickly spit it out as something crosses my mind. "Tatsumi!!!"
I quickly stood up, grabbing my hoodie hanging behind my room door as I ran outside my apartment room, running down the stairs.
"Hey! Watch it!"
"Hey!"
"We're walking here!!!"
I bumped into a few people as I race down the stairs, putting my hoodie on. "Sorry! I'm in a hurry!"
I was running through the streets, running towards the hospital Tatsumi is in. That darn Tatsumi better not die on me! I don't know what's up with that dream I had, but it was a bad dream! A nightmare!
Making my way through the hospital doors, running as fast as I can to reach Tatsumi's room, I was stopped by a nurse at the front desk. "Uhh, sir? Do you have an appointment? Are you visiting someone?"
"Oh, uhh, I'm visiting my friend at Room 14C." I replied, smiling as I was catching my breath.
I don't know why but for some reason, the nurse has this confused expression as I said the room I was going to. "Room 14C? I'm sorry to say but ww don't have a room 14C. Are you sure you're in the righ hospital?"
"I'm sorry, what?" I asked, my eyes fixed at the nurse as I tried to process what she said. "How can that be? I've been coming here for months, visiting my friend. This isn't one of her pranks is it?"
"I'm terribly sorry sir, but this is the first time I've seen your face and I have been working here for nearly 24/7 so it's hard for me to miss your face. What's the name of your friend?"
"T-Tatsumi... Tatsumi Mio..."
The nurse began typing on her computer, searching for Tatsumi's name. "There is no one named Tatsumi Mio in our data. Are you sure you're in the right place?"
I was shocked at what she said. No one named Tatsumi Mio is in here? How can that be? I've been going here for months, visiting Tatsumi, how can she not be in the data of this place?
"Sir? Are you okay? Do you need help?"
"N-no, I'm fine. I'm sorry." I waved goodbye as I walked out of the hospital. How could that be? Is this some weird prank? What's happening?
"Ugh! I don't understand it!" I muttered to myself in frustration as I took a bite on the banana bread I bought in a store. I let out a sigh as I gently pushed myself on the swing, flipping through my phone, looking for the messages Death sent me. "Even the messages that Death sent me aren't here. Could that be just a dream?"
I stayed at the park for a long time, thinking whether it was a dream or not. "It can't be a dream. Everything felt real and I feel like I've known Tatsumi for a long time. Tatsumi's name sounds familiar to me."
As I took another bite on the banana bread, something hit my mind as I kept thinking about Tatsumi. "That's it!"
"Why do you want to know Tatsumi's address?" Ms. Fubuki, our teacher asked as she looked at her files. I went to my teacher's house after realizing why the name Tatsumi sounded so familiar to me. It sounded familiar not because of the dream I had, but because she's one of my classmates.
"W-well, I just want to ask her s-something." I stuttered, embarrassed that I'm asking my teacher for Tatsumi's address. It feels weird, I feel like I'm stalking Tatsumi or something.
"I sure hope you're not stalking her."
Chills went down my spine after hearing what Ms. Fubuki said. It was the thing I was embarrassed about and she said it.
"I-I'm not stalking h-her."
"Oh, found it. Here you go." Ms. Fubuki handed me a folder with Tatsumi's name on it. And in the folder was Tatsumi's address and birthday. They match the exact thing I saw in my dream, in Tatsumi's records in the hospital.
Tatsumi Mio
Address: Room 14C, Skyscraper Condominium.
Room 14C, her room in my dream. I gave Ms. Fubuki the folder back as I said my thank you, going out of her house as I began running once again, running to the location that was written in Tatsumi's address.
I was breathing heavily as I reached the floor where Tatsumi's condo room is. I took a deep breath as I began walking towards her room, knocking on her door as I reached it.
"Hello? Is anyone there?"
I kept on knocking, calling Tatsumi's name, but no one replies to my calls. I grabbed the door handle and to my surprise, it's not locked.
"Hello? Tatsumi? Are you there? I'm coming in?" I stated before turning the door handle, opening the door. "Hello?"
I slowly entered the room, and my eyes grew wide as I saw a girl sitting on a bed, a pair of scissors were aiming at her throat.
"H-hey!" I quickly ran towards her, grabbing her hand and stopping her from ramming the scissors through her throat. "What are you doing!?"
As I held the girl's hand, her hand let go of the scissors, making the scissors fall to the ground. The girl giggles as her fingers start to intertwine with mine. I look at her and for some reason, my eyes start to water.
"T-Tatsumi...?"
"Hello, Tetsuo."
