There was nothing new in their story, Wayne being a genius he secured himself a place at the country's top University. Studying madecine,this had always been his dream,well not really madecine but but a surgeon having been inspired by Ben Carson.
Mercy on the other hand was picking up her socks trying to make a name for herself. She felt she needed to do just as good as him or at least close. She was always inspired by him,his courage, charisma, Brilliance but most of all his fluency in English. Wayne was just a gem for her. And each day that came by,she worked hard maybe because she felt the need to prove herself to him or because she wanted the world to see that she too was capable of achieving something.
Mercy started stressing and being cold towards him. How could she not ,she felt betrayed after indirectly declaring her love to this guy but what do you expect from a crew of guys constantly playing dares about girls. Wayne seemed different and collected,his emotions seemed pure and she dived in all heartedly unsure of the consequences.
Mercy new their relationship had no title but she still was holding on to what they had, she thought he was just afraid of commitment and rejection and so did not label their relationship.
How time flew so fast, It had only been a week ago when she replied to his text and there's rumours of him dating. She couldn't think,react or even sleep.

What else could she have done!
Her heart was shattered, thinking maybe she was just a game to their crew and maybe they laughed about.
Mercy was different from her peers she had insecurities, worries and responsibilities and her grades were not that convincing. And Wayne just stepping in to keep a balance was a plus. Not knowing anything about love she kept a cool head but not for too long because she had fallen for Wayne and there was no turning back.
