Third person's POV
***
After Sheila had told her brother about Breelia she had expected him to be furious, but she didn't expect him to ask about where she was.
When she told him where Breelia was, the way he had dashed out of the room made her a little scared that he might harm the life they had just managed to save.
Sheila quickly asked her mate to go after her brother and try to stop him from doing anything stupid.
After Berry left, Sheila couldn't help but worry about them, and she began to pace back and forth while imagining various scenarios that could be going on at that moment.
Meanwhile, Berry had followed the Alpha to the hospital unnoticed, he watched as Alpha Grey stormed into the hospital just to find Breelia.
Berry had thought about trying to take Breelia away from the room where she laid, but there was no way for him to do that without the Alpha seeing him.
So when the Alpha opened the door to the room where Breelia was, Berry stayed close to listen for any signs of danger.
Berry couldn't understand why his mate was so worried about this said Breelia but he just felt he needed to protect her for the sake of her happiness.
Berry stood a few meters away from the room where Breelia was, but he could clearly hear whatever was happening in the room.
He listened for any signs of danger, as he plans to dash into the room to stop Alpha Grey if he hears any. But he didn't, what he had learned instead, was a shocking fact.
He didn't just learn that the Alpha had found his mate, he also learned that he had rejected her just as soon as he had found her.
Berry was so surprised about this but he couldn't confront the Alpha, he just left and went back to Sheila.
Sheila was still pacing back and forth in the large hallway when Berry returned.
As soon as Berry saw his mate pacing back and forth, he knew she had been doing that since they left, he approached her hurriedly, and picked her up bridal style, and went upstairs.
Sheila was a bit astounded at this but she remained quiet until they were in their room upstairs, before she asked him what had happened back at the hospital.
"When would you stop worrying about others and start worrying about your self Sheila" Berry groaned as he placed his mate on their bed.
Sheila however ignored her mate and asked if Breelia was okay.
"Did Grey do anything stupid?" Sheila queried her mate who was now sitting beside her.
"Yeah, he did do something stupid " Berry admitted, and then paused, and looked to his mate before he continued.
"Before I tell you what he did though, you have to promise me that you're not going to worry too much about it," Berry coaxed at his mate whose eyes were almost popping out of their sockets even before she hears about what had happened.
"Did he kill her?" Sheila fretted, as an involuntarily shiver left her body.
"Well, not technically he didn't, but what he did might have been worse than killing her."Berry asserted.
"Oh no! " Sheila shrieks, "he didn't drain the blood completely did he?" she asked with eyes as wide as saucers.
Berry almost burst into fits of laughter from what his mate had just asked but he covered his laugh with a fake cough as he knew what he was about to tell her wasn't funny.
Berry didn't know exactly what it feels like to reject one's mate but he knew how strong a mate's bond is and it's better to accept it than for one to try fighting against it.
There had been sayings about wolves dying due to the extreme pain they go through for rejecting their mate. So he knew it was a very serious issue.
"Grey found his mate, Breelia is his mate," Berry announced and waited for a reaction from Sheila before he continued, "but he rejected her."
And Sheila could no longer sit still on the bed, she got up and sprinted downstairs while Berry rushed behind her.
"Where are you going Shei?" he asked, but Sheila didn't answer she just wanted to call Grey.
She couldn't imagine the pain he would be going through right now, and even though there is little to nothing that she could actually do to help, she still wanted to at least let him know she'd be here if he needs her.
Sheila couldn't understand why Grey would do something as dangerous, as rejecting one's mate, which is an even far more deadly thing for an Alpha to do.
He could die because of it. Sheila wasn't old enough to understand what had being going on when their mom died, she knew it wasn't easy growing up with a broken Alpha as a father.
She had hated him as a child, she couldn't understand why he treated them the way he did, so when he was found dead in the room on a faithful day, she didn't feel any sadness at his loss. Grey had been the one who always played the role of a father to her even when their father was still alive, and he continued to play that role even after his death.
But after she found her mate, she had realized that their father must have become that way after he lost his Luna.
Sheila couldn't imagine living without Berry after she found out they were mates, and that's why even though she had no idea how hurt Grey was right now, she just knew he's in so much pain, and is in need of all the comfort he could get.
Sheila had run down the stairs to grab her phone so she'd call Grey so when she picked it up, she tried calling him several times but he wasn't picking up the phone and that caused her to worry even more.
Sheila looked back at her mate to ask if he knew where her brother had gone so she'd go meet him, but her mate only told her she's been stressing too much which is very bad for the baby.
Sheila had totally forgotten about the pregnancy amidst all her worries about Breelia and Grey, so when Berry reminded her of it, she immediately felt sad and held her tummy, and inwardly apologized to her poor unborn pup...
"I'm sorry you got a mother who has too many worries about others than about herself," she whispers and a lone tear fell down her cheeks.
