She forced her feet to move in the state they were, with only one thought in mind, and that was "I can't let them catch me."
Running as fast as her feet could take her, she tried her best not to fall even though her feet felt a little bit jello. She wasn't going to let the fact that her wobbly feet were about to give up on her stop her, she had to keep going even if it took everything in her for her legs not to give up. She couldn't let herself be held hostage again, she knew this was her only chance to escape and she was not going to miss it.
Thinking back to what she had to go through in that empty dark room, forced her to move even more quickly.
Her hair that was stuck to her face because of the blood and sweat on her forehead did nothing to hide her adorable face.
Looking frantically behind her to see her chasers almost at her heels, forced her to increase her speed...
"Please Bree, please wake up, I need you"
She whispers shouts at her wolf through their mind link...
But Bree was not waking up she wasn't even answering. Her usually inquisitive self inside of Breelia's mind was no longer present. Which Made her realize that her captors had done something to not only her, but her wolf.
She ran through the vast empty field hating the fact that she couldn't find any trees or place to hide, just so she could buy herself some time to try and wake up her wolf.
Breelia could still feel her connection to Bree her wolf, but it was so weak that she could feel her slowly slipping away into oblivion.
If only Bree would wake up, then this chase would have been the other way round. Breelia thought as she continued to flee.
Breelia looked from side to side to see if there's anywhere that she could hide, or anything she could use to fight her captors even though she knew that would not be a wise decision to make in her current state, she knew she'd rather fight them to death than let them take her again. But all Breelia saw were thin trees that could barely hide a cat and a few rocks on the floor.
Amidst Breelia's hasty escape, Her leg hits a lone rock on the ground which made her yelped a little bit too loud, and the sound was heard by a wolf in a nearby territory, but that was completely unknown to Breelia.
Breelia kept on running, practically dragging her feet with her because she was now limping.
Breelia couldn't heal fast like she usually does because her wolf was too weak to take care of that.
Breelia couldn't run fast anymore because of her leg, but she didn't stop. She ignored the excruciating pain that shot through her leg and pushed herself to continue running.
She gazed at the thick bush in front of her, and she knew she needed to get to it, She had hoped that that would be the border to another Alpha's territory. And that they might be willing to offer her protection if she told them where she was.
Breelia could still hear the advancing footsteps of her chasers getting closer and closer, even though she wasn't looking back anymore. But just before they could grab her shoulder, a big black wolf jumped in to save her.
Breelia hadn't seen the wolf hiding in the thick woods in front of her until it jumped in between her and her captors.
Breelia isn't always a damsel in distress kind of lady, she is actually someone who often liked to do things by herself without waiting for others to help. She had always despised the idea of receiving help from anyone as she felt she might have to be indebted to her helper in some way, and she never wants to be indebted to anyone no matter who they might be.
Breelia had always damned the idea of being a damsel in distress who needed to be saved by a knight in a fucking shiny armour. But right now that idea wasn't entirely rebuking to her as she watched the big black wolf tear her previous captors' limbs to limbs while the rest of them flee in fears of sharing the same fate as their brothers.
Breelia was surprised to see that none of her captors had shifted which was a little weird because she knew they were from a pack of wolves. But she couldn't dwell much on that because her whole body was beginning to give up on her. However, she forced her eyes to stay open until the big black wolf turned to look at her and motioned for her to follow it...
Breelia practically dragged her feet while following slowly behind the wolf, which was walking at a slow pace so Breelia could keep up with it.
They soon arrived at a cabin which was the first building Breelia had seen after their long walk through the woods. She then released a huge sigh of relief before collapsing to the ground her wobbly legs no longer being able to hold up her full body weight.
Her eyes were also beginning to shot close slowly, but she was able to catch a little glimpse of the wolf shifting back into its human form before her eyes shot close completely.
The wolf which was now a full-grown woman was thus left with an unconscious Breelia, who she had absolutely no idea who she was, or where she had come from.
However, she dashed inside the cabin in front of her and came back out wearing a pair of shirts with a grouchy-looking guy following closely behind her, and then she asked him to help her bring the unconscious girl inside.
He didn't need her help though, so he picked up an unconscious Breelia like a rag doll before taking her into the cabin and lying on a soft bed in one of the rooms, he then went back out to meet the lady who he identified as Sheila.
"who's that Sheila?" he asked her while pointing to the room he just left as he walked closer to where Sheila was trying to get a drink from the fridge.
Sheila closed the fridge after getting out a bottle of water, and then turned to the grouchy looking guy, "I don't know Berry, I just found her by the territory's border some weakling humans were trying to hurt her," she says and then gulped down the water she was holding while looking at the guy she just identified as Berry.
"Isn't she also human? Why would they try to hurt their kind?" the grouchy guy Berry, asked and Sheila only shrugged and went into the room to check on Breelia, she touched Breelia's forehead and yelled a few curse words, making Berry rush into the room to ask her what's going on.
"We need to call Lucas right now " Sheila shrieked, "She's having a fever that's way too high even for a wolf" she added while looking at Berry with a worried eye.
Berry knowing how soft-hearted his mate could be quickly grabbed his phone and called Lucas, and asked for him to come to their vacation house that's close to the territory's border.
A few moments later there was a knock on the cabin's door and Berry rushed to open it leaving Sheila stuck to the side of Breelia, trying to bring down her fever with a wet cold towel which only turned hot after a few seconds.
When Lucas walked in, Sheila left the side of Breelia to allow him to check out what exactly was wrong with her.
Lucas checked Breelia's temperature and shook his head before turning to a desperate-looking Sheila to ask what exactly happened to her and they told him they had no idea.
Lucas knew she was a wolf the moment he checked up on her but he knew something was wrong with her wolf which is slowing down her healing process so he told Sheila and Berry, that they needed to take her to the pack's hospital because she was in a critical condition.
"But she's a human right? shouldn't we just take her to one of the human hospitals?" Sheila asked worriedly but then Lucas informed her that she was not human and that she needed to be moved to the pack hospital immediately. So they quickly picked her up and put her into the car Lucas had brought and rushed her to the hospital...
