She replied for her, her face devoid of any expression. "What century do you think we are in exactly? Just because his mother favors you, then you think you got the man? You can go be with his mother then. Don't worry, Liuying won't compete with you. She might even grant you a beautiful wedding."
"Who are you? This is none of your business. How dare you interfere? Do you know who I am?"
"It's not like your name will earn me money. Why should I care about who you are?"
"You're gonna pay. How dare you talk to me like that?"
"I'm not your mother. Why should I pardon your lack of morals?" Mo Xin Er snorted looking down on her as if she were an idiot which didn't fail to annoy the girl to the end.
Fan Liuying: "…" Great grandmother Xin Er, you're the only one who will piss off people with a straight face
"Leave her be, Xin Er. We shouldn't waste our time on people like this."
With that, they stalked off leaving the girl dumbfounded. The moment they walked into the driveway, the both burst into laughter simultaneously. The sight of the girls annoyed gazes was something Mo Xin Er would always relish in. They decided to take her Audi R8 and they hopped into it. She took over the steering as she gazed at Fan Liuying who has suddenly turned quiet. She wondered if it was the girl's words that ruined her mood.
Deciding to alleviate the situation, she asked, "Who was that?"
"She is the Yu family's younger daughter, Yu Ran."
"Oh. Are you okay?"
"Me?" Fan Liuying asked tilting her head in disbelief. She seemed surprised that Mo Xin Er would ask her that. "I'm fine."
"Yes. You're okay," Mo Xin Er replied with a soothing tone. She remembered that a few weeks after the death of her mother, she would wake up abruptly in the middle of the night as a result of a nightmare. She didn't expect that her adoptive mother would notice even when everyone close to her didn't. She would come into her room every night, patting her to sleep and muttering, "You're okay."
And it worked. Because it was after when she could finally sleep without waking up in the middle of the night until Mo Xin Er finally found out who it was.
To her surprise, Fan Liuying also began to mutter the words 'I'm okay.'
She began to drive the car out and almost hit a car when Fan Liuying suddenly said something, breaking the silence.
Fan Liuying muttered in a low voice, "She is my biggest rival."
"Yu Ran?"
"Hm. She grew up with Su Jing. I heard they were once betrothed."
"Huh?"
Fan Liuying gave a small self depreciating smile. "They almost got married. It was around the time when I got to know him. Su Jing said he only agreed to it because he didn't feel anything for anyone before meeting me. He felt that it wouldn't be all that bad since they practically grew up together. I don't know what he did but he was able to break their engagement. Because of that, Hus mother was always against me. It didn't matter where we met, she always ostracized me."
"You're not in love with his mother. Moreover, even if you reach the stage when you'll be getting married, it's not like you'll be spending the rest of your life with his mother. You don't have to care about what she thinks," Mo Xin Er contradicted.
"I know. Do you know what frustrates me the most? He is so clueless. He never believes that she is in love with him."
"Oh. it's not that he isn't seeing the signs. He just chooses not to believe it," Mo Xin Er said, giving her an eye glance.
"I don't know what to do. He could have just once told her not to keep dreaming but he still continued to give her hope by letting her be around him. She's even more annoying. She never acts like a bitch in front of him and everyone else. Otherwise, I would have dealt with her long ago. But how would I deal with someone who didn't even do anything wrong."
"Hm. That's somewhat tricky too."
Fan Liuying mumbled tiredly, "She is a white lotus. I'm tired. I can't help it that I love him so much. I can't help loving him even when it's so unhealthy for me."
Mo Xin Er sighed.
"Then threaten him. Don't even do that. Break up with him. Let him know he is hurting you by keeping her around." Mo Xin Er couldn't think of anything else. Her life had always been bland. She had never fallen in love. How was she supposed to comfort someone who is heartbroken. She didn't see any reason why anyone would hurt themselves for others. If she couldn't stand it, why would she still keep on going with something that hurt her.
But to her surprise, Fan Liuying began to smile depreciatingly, "I can't break up with him. I'm even more insecure. I'm worried someone will snatch him away the moment I let him go. Men are very fickle. The only think with that thing in between their legs. I won't be able to stand seeing him with someone else. I'm very worried, Xi Er. I'm very stressed out. I don't even have any close female friends. I'm scared someone would take him away under my nose."

Mo Xin Er couldn't help but groan in annoyance. Love was such a bitch. It could even make such an energetic person like Fan Liuying break down. She was never going to fall in love.
She shook off the messy thoughts and soon pulled up into a mall. They stepped out of the car and before she knew it, her hand was grabbed by the strangely energetic Fan Liuying. She led her to one of the shelves.
