Chapter 94 - An unforseen help from the desert.

Sniffia and Node tilted their head side ways. Torzillas... a desert beast after us… For what reason?

Immediately, Peirce held their hand and ran.

"I will tell you everything you know however we need to be alive to talk about them! Isn't it?!" He said as he was already near Lazarus running.

"Old Mister! How come they are after us, do you steal anything from them? Or…?" Peirce asked staring at the egg around Lazarus' arm.

Lazarus was first startled on how fast the teenagers could be. Unknowingly to him they were all steered by Peirce's unfathomed speed on the sand.

"I steal nothing, child but burrowed this!" He said, showing the teenagers the large egg in his arms as they ran. Node eyes widened. "And child, I'm not an Old Mister, are you provoking the Shadow Inhumane? Did you forget my name already?"

Peirce only grinned as he faced his front running at the same pace as Lazarus.

… He is running this fast on the sand without breaking a sweat after just waking up from his strange deep sleep, not bad for a kid like him. Lazarus acknowledged in his thoughts.

"His name is Lazarus, Peirce, have you forgotten?! Tsk!" Node told from behind slightly panting hard.

He could have removed his hand from Peirce's however he and every other child in the village knew who the fastest sprinter was. Peirce always and always outran the children of the northern-swale village before laying low in the forest for some days whenever he was ridiculed or yelled at. To them he disappeared from their eyes like a ghost.

And Sniffia wasn't at any point removing her hand from Peirce's. She was indeed calm.

Lazarus nodded.

"Yeah, Nock is right!"

"Really?!" Node shook his head, until now Lazarus hadn't pronounced his name right.

"Then let me kill them all!" Sniffia uttered behind Peirce.

"That would be useless because their hides are very tough to penetrate with whatever weapon you hold and their shells are no-go area. We have no choice but to run!" Lazarus revealed.

Sniffia ignored then felt Peirce's grip tightened on hers. She glanced at Peirce, he didn't looked her way or said anything as he ran but she knew what Peirce meant then followed without complaining while running across the deserted region.

Then a bigger Torzilla broke out from the sand as everywhere rumbled with a roar creating another larger and deadly sand storm many distant away from them.

"I'm guessing that will be their mother." Node yelled, as they kept running towards it.

"Judging from the size, the ones behind us would be this egg's siblings." Sniffia said after.

Lazarus and Peirce kept running towards the biggest Torzilla unshaken.

Node blinked.

"Hey, hey, hey, Peirce! Why aren't we turning to our left or right or even stopping? Look ahead! The mother is also coming for us!" Node raised his voice.

Node was right, the bigger Torzilla was indeed charging at them. It would be best to avoid it when the distance between them and the bigger Torzilla were this big.

Peirce smirked as Lazarus laughed out loud, both had something in mind.

Lazarus rolled his eyes to Peirce.

"Guess this kid is as crazy as I am." Lazarus pointed out.

"What the, Peirce—what are you guys thinking of doing?! This is suicide!" Node protested as he was dragged along, while Sniffia followed without questioning any of them.

He recognized not what the two runners in front were thinking however they had experienced something similar, whether been chased down by beings who would kill without a second thought, Ice bears or Torzillas, it all comes down to this, is to survive this night no matter what.

"Could any of you just tell me what is the plan?" Node turned to Sniffia. "Sniffia say something! Stop this madness!"

"Quiet, Nune! It seems Peirce here knows what to do," he looked at Peirce. "Will you have the honor to show these greenhorns how it is done in the desert."

Peirce nodded removed his hand from Node and Sniffia as Lazarus gave him the egg.

He happily took it.

Lazarus held Sniffia's and Node's hand turning to his left.

"Follow me," he cried while Peirce alone pushed close to the Bigger Torzilla with the huge egg around his arm then he glowed in green, the sands beneath him glowed also forming a green illuminating path as he ran across the sand perhaps it would get the attention of the smaller Torzillas, instead the smaller Torzillas along with the sand storm turned towards Lazarus and the two teenagers running as fast as their legs could in the direction of the sand hills without warning more and more smaller Torzillas broke out from the sand around them while snapping their teeth at them.

"They are catching onto us! We are never going to make it, by the way I taste awful if I was to be eaten!" Node cried moved his back out from their sharpened teeth's way which could rip a full grown being in two.

"You got lucky there, Nuky." Lazarus mentioned as he maneuvered himself with the kids around the smaller Torzillas.

Meanwhile Peirce looked over where the old Mister and his close friends was, slightly saddened hoping with his glow the smaller Torzillas would follow him while on that thought out of no where a Torzilla thrusted out from the sand as he came face to face with it's sharpened teeth. He swallowed, bent his lower body backwards with the egg held closely under his arm, his exposed knees slid through the sand roughly.

Ugh! He strained, stood up, his skinned knees slightly bleeding as he continued his run, dodging and sidestepping each any every torzillas while few meters reaching the roaring bigger Torzilla.

Suddenly, Peirce stood still with a lowered face, the feet of the bigger Torzilla deafly thudding against the ground thundered throughout the desert along with its roars.

Peirce stretched the huge egg up with his two hands.

"Here goes, something." He whispered.

The bigger Torzilla halted right in front of the tiny boy keeping himself together under the windblown sand, intimidating atmosphere as every smaller Torzillas behind Peirce froze at the sight of the bigger Torzilla.

The bigger Torzilla lowered its big and long neck gradually to Peirce with a deep groan then went closer, its large creamy eyes only staring at the boy as his reflection could be seen within those raging eyes then it sniffed the egg, slowly and gently took the egg from Peirce's palms and went back deep into the sand without any further actions together with the smaller Torzillas chasing after them.

"He did it… he is lucky to be alive." Lazarus said on a sand hill as he stared down to glowing Peirce from afar.

Sniffia looked at Lazarus with her venomous little eyes then ran to Peirce, Lazarus stared at her. Node lowered his back with his hands on his knees breathing hard in front of Lazarus.

"T-thank goodness we survived… Peirce, is lucky how?" Node asked, steadily catching his breaths.

Lazarus glanced at Node.

"Well, supposing it was the mother of the Torzillas your friend, Peirce saw eye to eye, he will be missing a head by now no question ask, maybe he knew what he was doing, maybe not. Lucky him the Father of the Torzillas came out from the sand himself and took the egg back from him."

Why did Lazarus took the egg from something this dangerous the first place. Node blinked. "This. Is. Revulsion."

"What a visit… what are the self-proclaimed Inhumanes doing here at a desolated land of ours. The last time we had visitors was many months ago about two Humanes fighting ferociously across this part of the land, one controls lightning and another controls the wind. If you look closely you could see their imprinted marks around." Someone said behind them.

Node and Lazarus were spooked. They turned, saw a being in a long loosened-fitting robe and a headcloth held in place of a band while having a sheathed scimitar on both sides, sitting on a four legged desert-beast reptile holding a four big canteens filled with water.

Damn, my guard was awfully lowered. I… the Shadow Inhumane! Lazarus thought as his wrist reapers glowingly forged from both hands.

The desert-beast reptiles hissed as it drew out its fork-shaped tongue.

"Fear not, we came in peace, Shadow Inhumane." He said while petting the desert-beast by the neck as many of his kind came behind him each and every one of them rode on a desert-beast reptile, some were wearing a long sleeves clothing and a long pants with a wide-brimmed hat on their head with what appeared to be like ears thrusting out from the holes on their hat.

Then the one at the front of Lazarus and Node took off his headcloth around his head, appeared to be a black-skinned being with long fluffy pierced-ears.

Lazarus groaned of relief not because he was surrounded nor because he got to fight his way out, he groaned only because at least someone here knows who he was.

"Our tribe had close observations of your group ever since you entered our arid land and what we witnessed tonight was within the realm of possibility. We live in the only oasis to your west here in the desert. You must be hungry and tired, allow us to be of help for Inhumanes like you who knows the desert of coruscation secrets."

Sniffia scuttling through the sand to glowing Peirce as the sand surrounding him reflects his glow. She smiled then noticed Peirce was not at all focused on her but what was behind her, she wondered as she slowly turned, noticed strange figures on a beast gathering around Lazarus and Node.

"Who are they?" She stopped, immediately removed her dagger from her boot, Peirce walked up to her.

"Probably the Beast beings inhabiting the desert of coruscation." Peirce said, "my grandma talked about meeting them when she traveled along this part of the desert, she described them as a very nice tribe and also the information on the Torzillas and their behavior was told to her by them." He looked at Sniffia. "Your arm, I did that, didn't I?"

Sniffia looked away then back to him.

"No, I--"

"I'm truly sorry." He apologized. Sniffia smiled as she nodded.

"Let's go say hi." Peirce said walking up to them as Sniffia looked at him for a while then followed but her dagger was held closely behind her.

Meanwhile on another face of the world, a bloody scene could be seen along with mortal remains of the Expats. Then a large shadow was seen after revealing to be Aguda standing prior to the scene then Azra came in holding Aghul's talking head.

The skies around there were blue and the clouds, moving graciously like the peaceful morning it should be, making one wondered what'd happened here?
