Chapter 93 - The way of the glow.

Sniffia squinted her orange venomous little eyes glaring it at Lazarus, to her all Lazarus was were unveiled in his character as a sly, dishonest and a troubled old man;

Gosh… that eyes of hers remind me of a certain woman. He blinked, stared at Peirce. How is he coping around such frenzied girl?

Lazarus sighed.

"Yeah… that will do." Lazarus stared at each and every one's eyes, he continued. "I'm Ojinwuo Lazarus the Shadow Inhumane as you all know and how I got to have my iconic name… I trained harder than any other Inhumane out there and master the way of the glow."

"The way... of the glow?" Both Peirce and Node thought out.

"Yeah, the way of the glow as an Inhumane, is by shaping the glows on the body then materializing it as a weapon of choice just like mine," he glowed only on his arms then materialized the black glow into a wrist reaper on both hands.

Peirce and Node eyes glittered.

"Confirm!" Peirce exclaimed.

"Woah! Still got the look, more like the Humanes—what do they call such abilities?" Node asked, about touching the glowing wrist reapers.

"You mean, potency?" Sniffia cuts in, folding her arms as she sat uninterested.

Node stopped, glanced at her.

"Yeah that-that is what it's called. Potency."

Node looked at Lazarus.

"Teach me how you control the glows on your body!"

"--Can every Inhumane learn the way of the glow?" Peirce asked.

He glowed in green, stared at his clenched fist imitating Lazarus.

Peirce's green glow brightened up the place they sat.

Node glanced at him then he also glowed in purple.

Then the whole sands which their glows touched, bleached in symmetrical tinted blue-black.

The Inhumanes never worried about what was happening beneath them due to having living their lives among varies of colors but only one of them was extremely amazed by the magnificent scenery happening.

Sniffia's widened eyes reflected the colors while she sat on the reflecting sands feeling the cool, calm wind penetrating into her.

She was speechless that the sand shines!

"Yes," Lazarus answered.

"Really?!" Node and Peirce cried.

"But sadly, I can't teach you kids neither any Inhumane out there." Lazarus revealed.

Peirce and Node glows immediately turned off in disappointment as the sands stopped reflecting their glows.

The girl who was lost in the colors of glamour immediately snapped out of it as she raised an eyebrow staring at Lazarus.

"Because…"

"Truth be told I once disagreed about this however I will be speaking from the perspective of my master and the master before him who also learnt the way of the glow." Lazarus said as the glowing wrist reapers retracted back to his skin.

"Master? So a sly old man like you had a master…" Sniffia scoffed. "This is getting interesting but don't mind me my eyes are a little bit tired, I will be going back to sleep."

Sniffia laid down on the sand turning her body to the other way, still disappointed about what happened earlier.

Peirce and Node glanced at her then turned their face back to Lazarus, expressing they wanted more of the story.

"… The strength and influence of the Inhumanes are increasing each day and it's terrifying even for me. I was taught not to teach anyone or talk about the things I learnt from attaining the way of the glow until I find a single Inhumane who is different entirely from others, if I find one she or he will be initiated before anything else."

Node's eyes went sharp hoping he could learn the way of the glow from Lazarus.

Lazarus laughed, "Don't give me that look, boy. You both fall short on the worthy-thing. One wants to be the strongest but for what? Vengeance and one… a run away boy always skeptical about the reasons for his existence with an excuse to become a traveler. We only need a single Inhumane that's not at all driven by vengeance, without low self-esteem or never drunken by power and always keep the mouth shut never to tell a soul about the way of the glow or how it can be manifested. I have look near and far unfortunately not a single Inhumane is worthy."

Peirce lowered his face as Sniffia's eyes slowly opened from where she laid.

"We…?" Peirce spoke, raising his head.

"We are some kind of a creed that train only one out of many chosen ones. Ugh! That's the end of the story. I need to sleep, I work so hard to get that egg you know." He pointed to the boys. "Two of you be on the lookout I will join in later."

"And the reason why only one Inhumane should be trained over the course is…?" Sniffia asked while she laid on the sand without moving her body.

Lazarus stared at her.

"To minimize the damage." He responded. "Do you understand?"

"No clue." Peirce shook his head.

"Not at all." Node half shrugged his shoulders.

Sniffia didn't responded.

Lazarus sighed deeply.

"Forget what I told you and only listen to this. The way of the glow is so hard to learn. If I'm to break the oath by training every Inhumanes as many as possible, I will be dealt with, if I neglect my responsibilities of the way of the glow, I will in no exception be dealt with."

Sniffia rolled her eyes. "Responsibilities," she mocked.

Node scanned the sand hills surrounding them just as the wind blew along their path.

"Who will deal with us here? There's nothing here but sands. Your master won't know if you teach us."

"At least teach us the basics." Peirce said after.

"Ha, very funny. What we are discussing is never about my master, we are talking about the creed overflowing with all kinds of weird Inhumanes that have eyes and ears in every corner of the continents."

He his untrimmed beards up, an engraved shape in what looked like an irregular shield in red ink on his neck.

"You see this mark is called an initiation mark to their sacred organization, there is no telling what they will do. If you see this mark in anyplace that means they are near and they mostly walk in groups."

"So, are all Inhumanes in the creed trained in the way of the glow?" Peirce questioned.

Lazarus puts his untrimmed beards down.

"No, as the rules are laid only the chosen one will learn the way of the glow. Ugh! Did you shoot me a truth serum or something I probably just tell you what shouldn't be told to an outsiders talk-less to you kids. Ugh! Goodnight."

Lazarus turned his body to the ground while murmuring to himself.

Suddenly Sniffia rose up the two boys took a glimpse at her sniffing and tilting her head to both sides.

"What's wrong, Sniffia?" Peirce touched her muscled shoulder.

"Something..."

She sniffs as her eyes closed.

"Something is coming towards us." She told with her eyes instantly opened.

After she told them, the sands quaked beneath them, Everyone was startled,

"What the?!" Node gasped.

Aftermath of the quaking coming from the south to where they where. Peirce and Sniffia stood up.

The teenagers all squinted their eyes. Something was definitely coming towards them but what?

"Ho~ they have finally caught up to me."

Lazarus stood up dusting his untrimmed hair and beards, collected the egg from Node shakily seated on the sand, looked at the teenagers.

"Run!"

Peirce blinked glanced at Sniffia then Node.

"Run, What did he mean by—?" Peirce questioned.

"I said, Run! Do you want to be their food!" Lazarus yelled.

"Food?!" Node immediately sprung up.

Lazarus was already many distant away from them running without looking back, they watched him run wondering what or who was he running from, turning their head back, saw a huge dust of sand coming towards them like a sand storm.

"Seriously?!" Node swallowed.

Peirce and Sniffia watched, within the sand storm a loud squeaky sounds were heard as creatures looking like a tortoise with shells covered in straightened spines raced towards them.

"T-torzillas…!!" Peirce flustered.
