Meanwhile at the Humane Kingdom. In this very part of the continent orange clouds enveloped the skies.
All seem well and harmonious under the orange sun graciously gleaming on every single chattering Humanes outside their homes along with the hovering birds peacefully living their lives there yet wheezing sounds of frozen air upon clanking sounds were heard only to those living few miles from the large and well-appointed palace's courtyard; near it was another terrace in construction appeared like an arena much more larger and furnished materials were been used while building it.
"More!" Wren shouted at the palace's courtyard then a grunting sound was heard, as someone thumped to the ground, "Are you alright?" she asked the person on the floor as few lemon feathers whirled down from the sky.
"I'm alright, but I don't think my wings are," Skylark responded lightly flapping his weakened lemon wings while laying on the ground.
"Probably gone cold." He exaggerated.
"Hmmm," Wren tightened the pieces of blue fabrics on her both hands while staring at his wings, "I know what to do," she observed.
Skylark blinked then looked at the Princess to Luna slightly breathing hard behind her. His guts were telling him this spar would be tougher than the first.
Few decisions moments later...
"What's the difference between this and then, I'm still using my wings to the extreme!" Skylark murmured to himself.
Looked at the sky as he flew around in the courtyard.
"Mother… will your boy leave this place without a single scratch on his body? I guess not, with the way things are going, I will lost a wing and half of my soul if care is not taken! Ah!"
He dodged few ice pillars rapidly erecting from the walls as he airborne towards the princess while she fought Luna, Wren noticed he was coming, smirked threw a fake punch towards Luna, the Aurorae put her arms to the area she thought Wren would hit, but to her amazement she saw the princess throwing a kick to her left chin, her grey eyes widened as she retreated, Wren turned her body over before Skylark could touch her, landed on him between his wings and her hands holding tightly the gap on his armored body from where his lemon wings stick out.
"Huh!" Skylark was shocked.
The princess was right on his back!
Wren smirked as Skylark travelled high to the sky, almost hitting the wall ahead.
Looking at how balanced the Princess was on Skylark's back. She seems ecstatic for someone who just got out from a deep sleep and completely froze the entire Kingdom a day before.
She had been training so heartily not minding any of it than to train.
Wren looked around then up, swung her hands as frosts vapored out of her hands felt the cold wind streaming against her body.
The sense of prospect and freedom kicks in as her braided hair sways, she closed her eyes, smirked then almost staggered off from Skylark's back then regained back her position.
"Confirm… this time around make it harder for me to hold onto you! Like flipping me over or flying in a near miss situations will do!" Wren gushed.
"Alright… my Princess…" Skylark gulped as he soars.
Is the Princess enjoying this? Then he sighted the bell tower from afar just below them, his eyes focused. Let's see, if this will rub the smile off your Princess's face. She asked for it! He giggled then charged towards the bell tower at full speed, that short moment he'd flew. He slightly gained speed at supersonic mode.
On reaching the little opening between the bell and ground in the tower, he spins his body while penetrating through, after his successful passage. Skylark spread out his wings side ways reducing his speed... Something wasn't right as he was in the air. He felt his armored body was lighter, his eyes dilated knew what was going on. He tried looking behind and using his hands to touch his back.
The Princess just vanished off my back?!
He glanced back at the bell tower while slowly held his wings outward, not a single soul was there; same on the hard grounds filled with few Humanes walking and talking. Then he swallowed. Have I kill—
"Oooooh mmyyy bubbbbleessssss!" A familiar voice echoed within the orange sky.
Skylark looked up with a squinted eyes unable to see where the voice was coming from, in an instant he noticed a figure in dark blue dress descending.
It was the princess!
The blue fabrics on her hands slightly loosened and flutters behind her as she propelled frozen vapor.
Skylark couldn't do anything but wondered and totally confounded then Wren fell on his back with a force almost dragging him down with her to the hard grounds.
Skylark grunted as he almost hit the gasped Humanes walking by fraction, he regained his posture flew up higher than before, whizzed through the orange clouds as the reddish-orange sun could be visibly seen from afar amidst it's reflections.
Skylark eyes reddened, he gritted his teeth.
I could've died! The Princess could've died with her rough play! I'm sorry mother don't mind my disrespect I need to preach a little sense to her! He thought looked behind about yelling at Wren however what he encountered destroyed every motives.
To him, it was heavenly. The way the sun fully sets on the princess' smiles; the way her orange-brown braided hair swung with the wind; her dainty almond blue eyes, her brown skin radiating the sun set; Skylark's fallen lemon feathers swirling around the scenery which pictured in his mind like a work of art—It was so enticing for the Beast being.
His face reddened as he blinked never as he seen such beauty during all his time in the Humane Kingdom.
Are all Princesses this beautiful?... was it the cause of the enchanting sunset?..." he murmured to himself, Wren not hearing what he said turned her face a little closer to him.
"Huh? What did you say?" She asked, Skylark blinked, he turned his face full of mortification as he circled within the rising cold wind.
"No-Nothing my Princess…" he flustered.
He could hear his heart beating loudly underneath the metal plates.
She's just twelve, I'm sixteen there is a huge difference… ugh! Life is somehow cruel to me…. should I've been given birth to at her time…? Wait, what just spewed out from my thoughts… stupid—stupid—stupid. Think straight--
"Skylark!" Wren shouted in his ears then her blue eyes glared. "Are you just giving up or what? Is the prison you came out from this morning too suitable for you that you aren't obeying my commands any longer? Listen to me first then make your own rules later." Wren's face completely changed.
Skylark swallowed raised his arms around.
"I'm sorry I was just thinking about you—your well being I mean—are you hurt in any way? Should I take you back to the Palace? You can order me all day I don't mind!" He yelled.
Wren blinked, Skylark stopped talking as he blinked too on turning to the Princess behind she was back to her happy self, screaming at the top of her lungs.
"Fly. Me. More! I love the wind!"
I-I take it all back over the commanding aura emitting from her… Now. Back to business. He said to himself, turned the front edges of his lemon wings into the cool wind as the skies got darker and darker then descended this time at supersonic speed to wherever.
He darted across the tall houses; walked on the high walls and window glasses; flew very close to the grounds, trees and rivers around the kingdom—the Princess strongly held on with now serious face earlier experienced how big the Kingdom of Humane was.
Skylark noticed through the reflections from the river. Now she's serious? Let's show her what it looks like to be the fastest being in air. His eyes glittered then he cuts through the air while in the midst of buildings, the windows around cracked and shattered.
Wren strongly held his back armored not letting go; her dress flutters, her braids sways.
He was many times faster than the speed of sound then Wren noticed she was getting closer to the courtyard, on passing by spotted Luna talking to June and Beth on the wet courtyard then she smirked held both Skylark wings, he fidgeted.
What's she doing?! Skylark wondered.
Wren suddenly froze one completely.
Huh?!
Then controlled the other wing back to the courtyard as she laughed.
How?! She is the reincarnate of the Destroyer!!! Skylark screamed inside as a single tears dripped out of both eyes, almost crashing down the courtyard's ground, Wren unfroze the wings before swinging him towards Luna then she effortlessly landing with a kneel and the loosened pieces of blue fabrics around her hands laid on the ground, she smirked, tucked a lock of hair behind her ear then raised up her satisfied face to Luna carrying sniffling Skylark putting his thumb in his mouth as he murmured,
"M-my great-great-great grandfather's ancestors flash before my eyes saying welcome home. I vividly almost died just now, I almost d-did I tell you… "
The ladies including the handmaids all sniggered then Wren walked up to him.
"Good job, tomorrow we shall continue our training, personal royal guard two."
"Huh?" Skylark removed his thumb from his mouth, "t-there is tomorrow?" He blinked, "b-but I didn't sign up for this?"
Suddenly eerie explosions was heard coming from the entrance of the Kingdom many miles away from the Palace. Every eyes turned towards it, then the Blue caped Royal Guards marched to the courtyard.
The commander leads, regarding everyone in the courtyard she was shocked at the position Skylark was on Luna's arms. What the…?! She shook her head knowing that was not why she came.
"My Princess, my Ladies. We are under attack by some unknown beings. As I speak the front gate is under attack and we spotted another group heading to where the Aurorae dwell, we don't know if it's another attack from the Nymphs or beings from beyond and they don't seem to be the Inhumanes… we will escort you to your room along with your handmaids." The commander spoke staring at the Princess before a bow. Holding her helmet beside her.
"Hmmm…" Wren wondered then glanced at the Commander. "What about every beings in the city, the royal families?"
"Don't worry my princess, they are all safe as we speak." June answered, "Every Royal Guards are array in their respective place."
Wren stood still turning to the eruptions of smoke and fire from the Kingdom's entrance. "Oh," she said.
"Please, Princess Wren, right now your room is the safest place to be, we will take care of everyone and everything, hopefully the King is on his way."
Wren didn't say anything as the handmaids came to her with a bow she exited the courtyard followed by seven royal guards in blue cape Including Luna.
Skylark immediately dropped from Luna's arms then looked at the explosions from afar.
"Why does everything starts and ends with explosions?" he said to himself as series of explosions shook the grounds beneath him, he stared at his armored feet.
"Is Mother and my siblings doing alright too?"
