A cold breeze ran through the quiet street on an early winter morning.
The sunrays, slipping through the tall buildings, fell upon the street.
All one could see was tall buildings on the right and trees with no leaves on the left.
Two teenagers could be seen walking, one following the other.
"Where exactly are we going?", the blue haired girl asked Led as she yawned.
"My hometown", he said while searching for something in his bag. "I want you to meet some people there."
They had been living together for three months now. Whenever Led asked her about her personal life, she always dodged the question saying, "I'm returning a favor. When it's done, I'll be out of your life." He decided not to bother her about it anymore. They waited on the bus stop for a brief moment.
"Why do you want me to meet those people?", the girl asked.
"I had told my uncle about you the other day."
She looked at him in confusion.
"He said he just wanted to meet you. Nothing else, okay?", he said nervously, out of fear she might get skeptic.
The bus arrived.
She sighed, "This better be good."
"Don't worry Veronica."
"My name is not Veronica."
"Amelia."
"Please don't start this again."
They entered the bus.
"Ruby?", He asked again.
"I'll punch you."
The bus started and thus began their journey.
He had booked the adjacent seats.
Led sat on the window seat, the girl sat in the middle and another woman sat next to her holding her little dog.
"It really is cold today. Look at those trees", he said while looking outside. "The leaves on that tree....."
She was not listening.
She looked terrified instead.
"Please don't jump on me. Please don't jump on me", she said in a low voice with her eyes closed.
"You don't like puppies?", Led asked her.
"I hate them." She had opened her eyes. "If I get a chance I would wipe them off the face of the earth."
Both of them had forgotten about the lady owner.
They looked towards her, she was asleep.
They took a breath of relief.
The puppy started taking interest in the girl now. It got up and started wagging it's tail.
"Don't you try anything on me", she said pointing at the dog.
The dog jumped on her lap.
She froze right in that moment. Not because the dog jumped on her, but because Led had grabbed her hand.
"Don't be afraid, I'm here for you", he whispered.
Her ears and cheeks were glowing red now.
She felt her heart beating as if one could listen to it from miles away.
Led realised what he was doing now.
"Oh! I'm sorry. I thought it would help."
He tried to pull his hand away but she held it firmly and didn't let go.
"I'm scared to let go."
Led just smiled, and the journey continued.
They looked at the beautiful scenes that went by; the lakes, forests and sheep grazing couldn't look more perfect than at that time.
"You should give a chance to everything, you know." Led said.
"I didn't quite get that."
He pointed at the puppy, "He just wants to play."
"And give me millions of lethal germs? No thanks", she replied in an instant.
"Just admit it that you're afraid."
She took offense to that and didn't say a word.
He let go of her land.
She tried to say something but he signaled her not to do so.
He then took her hand and started petting the dog with it.
She resisted for a moment but then started enjoying it.
The dog, long asleep because the girl paid no attention to it, was awoke and active now.
He was moving mad and then started licking her face.
"Hey, it tickles", she chuckled.
"CUTE!!!!!" Led thought.
She happily played with the dog and even fed it on her lap. It was the first time that he had seen her smile.
The bus suddenly jerked and their eyes met each other. Everything froze in that moment and it was just the two of them in the whole world.
Led moved closer. She did not resist and closed her eyes.
It was as if both of them could feel what the other was feeling. A sense of nervousness, a little bit of shyness and so much more that neither of them could describe. Was it love?
"*yawn* What happened to the bus?", the lady next to then woke up.
They came back to reality and moved away from each other as fast and far away as possible.
"Did I interrupt something?", she said, feeling the tension in the air.
"Oh, no, nothing important", the girl said as she smiled.
The lady introduced herself to them. She then went on having a long conversation with the girl.
Led found it boring since it was girly things and went to sleep.
As he was asleep, his head tilted and landed on her shoulder.
"What a young and beautiful couple you two are", the lady said.
"Oh no we're not..."
"I wish you two a very bright future," the lady was lost in her own thoughts, "Love is very important for anyone because it can either make you or break you. So be prepared for any obstacle that comes between you and your love."
The girl said nothing but simply nodded her head.
They reached their destination in the afternoon.
"Don't forget about what I told you", the lady told the girl as she and Led came out of the bus.
They bid goodbye to the lady and her dog.
As the bus disappeared from their sights, the girl had a sad look on her face.
"What's wrong?", Led asked.
"It's hard saying goodbye to my first dog friend."
