Aaron awoke the next morning to find that the Mythical Beastiary he bought a few days ago, had arrived at the post office.
He rushed down the stairs faster than usual, and almost ran into his mother.
"Heading out early today?" Asked his mom.
"The book I bought arrived today!" Replied Aaron excitedly.
"I want to get it before school!"
"Ok" his mom said;
"Be careful!"
"I will" he replied.
He made his way to the house's garage
And pulled out his bike.
He had decided to walk most of the week since Grey Phoenix was fairly close to his house, but today, he needed to head to the local post office, which was slightly farther than the school.
He rode quickly to the post office.
Appon arrival, he was pleased to see how few people were there, so he managed to pick up the book rather quickly.
Once he got the book, he was surprised to discover how large and intricate the hard cover was, but still, he shoved it in his bag and started the bike ride to school.
Aaron was incredibly excited as he rode, he was curious to see what the listing ment, by Mythical Beastiary.
He assumed it would be a simple art book, or maybe an interesting fake journal.
Due to his early start, he arrived at Grey Phoenix much sooner than usual.
Classes didn't start for another fifteen minutes, so he pulled out the Beastiary and opened it up for the first time.
"Hum, what's this?" He thought to himself.
"It's all blank except for this one page."
The page that did have something on it, had a large rune in the center, but soon, letters began to form on the page.
"Wait, what?" He whispered to himself;
"When did the words come in?"
The words on the page now read, "To the possessor of this book, it's lack of knowledge may you find me a crook, but do not disparage for the knowledge is there, thought it is locked if you just found this book.
"What the heck does that mean?" Thought Aaron.
Suddenly, the rune on the page looked oddly at familiar, Aaron pulled out his phone and took a picture of the rune.
He ran the picture through the internet and found out something quite shocking.
"This is elvish!!" He thought to himself extaticly.
"The rune itself says unlock. Maybe I need to say the elvish word for unlock or open?"
He rummaged through the internet for a few minutes and finally found what he was looking for. The word he was looking for was láta
"Alright, let's try this!" He thought.
"láta", he said aloud.
The ruin dissapeared and a thick purple smoke funneled out of the book and encircled Aaron.
"WHAT THE HECK!!!", screamed Aaron.
He tried to leave the encirclement but could not move past the smoke.
The smoke itself bellowed up into dome and if forced Aaron to sit down.
The dome soon turned into a spiral, that was heading for Aaron's head.
"WHAT IS HAPPENING!", he screamed again as the smoke entered through his mouth.
Aaron felt a weird sensation, he felt as if thousands of years worth of knowledge was being pounded into his brain, only for the sensation to stop, and Aaron found himself back to sitting with is back to the wall and the book in his lap.
This time however, the pages were filled with the profiles of different Mystic Creatures. Where wolves, elves, dwarves, dragons, all in a book that previously had nothing in it.
"Wait, who di- what happened?" Thoguht Aaron.
"Time must have frozen or I had some weird dream, cause now one is acting like they just saw some weird magic ritual."
Aaron proceeded to simply shrug it off and make his way to his first class of the day.
Not knowing what had happened, was indeed real.
