"Shh... Isabella, we are here to observe a wedding. How humans get wed. We are to watch right now and tell you all later."
"Okay."
Alexander had snuck inside the room of Isabella and asked her to follow him. He made her put both of them put a clock to cover their faces. It was the time for her to relax but he could not afford any more lack of knowledge.
He was a little disturbed after the words of Ethan. He wanted nothing more than to He somehow managed to control his emotions but now he was required to tell her what happens on the wedding day.
Never in his wildest dreams had he dreamt about this situation. But here he was, secretly attending a wedding to teach her about it. He was out of words to describe his thoughts now, but it also knew she needs that.
"Look. It is starting."
Isabella was in awe of the scene in front of her. The place was beautifully arranged with flowers. A pleasant smell could be smelt and it makes her feel happy from inside.
Although she was covering her face, Alexander could feel her happiness coming in strong waves coming from her.
"Isabella, you see that person in the center?"
"Yes."
"He is the priest. He is an important person on occasions like this because they resemble god."
"Wolves follow a moon goddess."
"Just, listen."
Alexander has no clue how to explain all those things to her. He does not need to teach her about the values but he needs to explain the process. It was proving to be harder than he expected.
"The decoration is arranged by the bride or the elders. Brides are the female mates and Grooms are the male mates. Girls dream about the way the place will look or the way they will look. They even choose all the meals they are going to give others.
At first, the friends of brides and grooms, bridesmaids and groomsmen, will take their place beside the priest. The passage you see at the center is known as an aisle. It goes from the door to the center and is in the middle of the row of chairs.
On the right side of the priest Bride stands. She does not stand alone. She stands there with her friends."
"The Bridesmaids?"
"Yes. And on the left side, the groom will stand with his friends."
"The groomsman?"
"Yes. Than."
"I am confused."
Alexander could already sense a frown appearing on her face. At that moment he wanted nothing more than to bang his head at a pillar.
He can win chess. He can win a duel. He has won the war. He was a king himself, he has made her one of the strongest warriors out there, yet he has no clue how to explain the marriage to her.
What was he expecting? Nod after nod to the way he explained? It was no wonder she was confused.
"*heavy sigh* Understand it like this. I am the groom and you are the bride."
"Okay."
"Now, questions later. After they stand on both sides, a little girl will walk down the aisle throwing flowers as she goes. Then a little boy will walk along the way with the rings on his hands. Then the groom, that means I, will walk down too and wait for the bride, that is you, to come.
At last, but not least, you will come with your father or brother carrying a bouquet of flowers. He will place your hand on my waiting hands as a sign of giving his blessing. The priest will ask us to say vows, we will exchange the rings. Last, the kiss."
"Why has she thrown the bouquet?"
"It is said, the one who will catch it will be the next one to get married."
"Where are they going?"
"They are leaving for their honeymoon."
"What is a honeymoon?"
Alexander could feel the heat rising from his throat to his cheek. He has never heard of boys blushing, but he has been going through a lot of things ever since this little flower has come into his life.
"It is- uhh... they are going somewhere far from home for few days. Let's go."
Alexander was now relaxed. The happiest moment of a girl's life has turned out to be the hardest part for him. Now that the explaining part was done, Isabella was prepared enough to take part in the arrangements.
They were on their way back to the castle riding on the horse. Alexander kept a strong grip on the reign with one hand and held her waist to make her sit straight with others.
Her back is in contact with his front. Her waist was wrapped in his hands. Her head was perfectly tucked under his chin. On their way back, giggling could be heard after every few moments. Perhaps his horse and his fiancee are involved in a deep conversation.
Suddenly his horse slowed down his pace and started walking in a steady way. He felt a slight tightening in his pants and her body falling completely on him at that very instant. Her body felt a little heavier as if all the weight is dependent on him and she has no control over herself.
A glance at her, and he knows that she has fallen asleep. It was no wonder that suddenly he is made partially to carry her. Must be her exhaustion which forced her to sleep on a horse or else she is someone who rather chose to stay awake and chat.
He clutched her waist strongly and made her sit steadily. The hand gripped her tighter. Her body was aligned with his like a second skin. His stallion was already walking steadily, which assured him that she was not going to wake up anytime soon.
Once reaching the gate of the castle, he slowly picked her up in bridal style. He carried her all the way to her room and placed her on the bed. The room yet smelt as flowers and the owls were already sitting and hooting. It made him felt as if he was yet outside, in a garden to be precise, and not in a room.
He glanced downwards at the sleeping girl. The moonlight coming from the window covered half of her face. She appeared angelic.
He raised one of his hands and slowly brushed the streak of hair falling on her face. Her fair skin was illuminated under the moonlight. The golden sparkle of hair made it appear like a halo.
His strong, hard, and emotionless face was appearing soft right now. His eyes were filled with adoration and love. He slowly leaned in towards her and when he was mere inches away, he places his forehead on hers. Eyes were looking at her with adoration and love? Perhaps it has finally happened to her.
"What are you doing to me, Isabella? You are supposed to take care of the kingdom. You were meant for ruling and leading my kingdom. You are supposed to be here so I could die in peace one day in war but now it seems harder. You, came into my life when I was hurt... Now I am well but a different constrain is there when I think about not being able to protect you. I am heartless, try telling that to my heart.
I, give you my word Isabella. I will come back to you. You are no more a mere warrior in dress or wearing a crown. You are no more a mere leader, but rather a more responsible one among the two of us. You are my queen. My love. My significant other."
Alexander decided to leave her after wrapping her securely in her fur blanket. With one last longing look, he left her alone in the closed room.
Alexander wanted nothing more than to keep holding her in his arms like few minutes before but he could not. On the other side of the room, Isabella was sleeping in a deep sleep. On this side of the room, Alexander was tossing around thinking the scenario in his head.
No matter what he thought or how much he thinks, he has found no answer to the question and he could feel it in his bones that the very unanswered question will put him in misery. He is yet to find the answer, and no amount of thinking is putting him at ease rather it is making him break sweats.
The question, which simple and most difficult at the same time, "What happens on the honeymoon?"
