After finishing her works, Isabella was taking a walk in the garden when she heard a strange voice. She was intrigued by the sound and tried to pinpoint the sound. With a frown, she follows it only to stop with a fixed gaze at the sight.
She was in awe of the sight. There were lots of males with shiny objects in their hands. They moved beautifully.
She slowly sat down on the dirt and watched how those things beautifully moved in their hands. She was watching intently when suddenly heard a hiss from a direction. When she looked in that direction, she saw one man was hurt and a slight amount of blood was coming out of the wound. Then she remembered her father's words.
"Isabella, sometimes humans use shiny objects which they used to hurt others. They may look shiny and attractive but they are also able to give you pain."
"Father. Are they the t-tr-traps you say?"
"No, Isa. They are not traps. So stay away from them unless one of human teaches you how to use them or be very very careful."
Now she understood what they were carrying. They were learning how to use those shiny objects to hurt others.
The man who got a cut was in awe of her beauty which Isabella was oblivious to. He was jousting with his friend when suddenly his opponent strike on him. He used his distraction in his favor which resulted in blood gushing from his wound.
His opponent tried to see what got his friend's attention. But when he looked in that direction, he saw a girl with golden hair. For some unknown reason looked worried watching in his direction. She was a beauty, there's no doubt. But he has heard from Sam that a man known to her punch him in the face when found both dancings. He doesn't know if the story about her was true or not. He didn't know what relation was between the two. He prefers to stay far away from her. He isn't willing to know what that man is capable of doing. Especially when his one punch can do that to Sam's face.
"Mate. She is probably taken."
"She is a beauty."
"But taken."
With one last look in her direction, they both started making their way towards another direction only to stop and bow with respect towards the new entrance. And why not, it was not an everyday occurrence after all.
Alexander was engaged with his royal work. He had got lots of papers to sign and lots of work that required his attention. But rather half of his attention was on a certain golden-haired girl. He could still feel her lips lingering on his cheek. Soft and pulpy.
Sub-consciously his hands went to his cheek and he felt disappointed after coming to know that it was his dream, daydream to be more precise. But he frowned and glared at his hand as if it would answer why it went there in the first place. He could still feel her presence in his arms. He wanted nothing more than to find her and keep her in his arms again.
He was getting frustrated with each passing second. He was a king now. His priority now was to take care of his kingdom not to daydream about a certain golden-haired girl. Sure she was his little escape from this harsh world but he also knows that he cannot always be in thoughts of her.
Frustrated by his thoughts, he decided to have a look at his men who were practicing. He was filled with pride when he saw how gracefully his men were practicing their swordsmanship skills. The way their swords clashed. His mind was now empty from any other thoughts and was willing to focus completely on its work.
He turned around to finish his tasks at hand, but before he could turn completely, he saw someone. That someone happens to be the very girl who was ruling his head without his permission. The very same girl who is making him daydream.
As always, his motions stopped, and waited for her to move around. At first, he was admiring her, but when he saw her looking in awe in a particular direction, he too looked in that direction. The sight made him angry.
She was observing the very man he was observing a few minutes ago. He once again looked at her. He tried to see the reactions in her body. She was in awe with the sight, but all other emotions which she reflected in front of him, were absent. This piece of information made him a little relaxed but not completely.
"Do you need something, my king?"
"Nothing I can not do my friend."
"Are you going for sparring with someone?"
"No my dear friend. I believe it has been some time since we have practiced with others. Let's see how they are doing."
His friend was skeptical but followed nonetheless.
Seeing how they were doing, was a mere cover. The truth was, he was now territorial. He didn't want any other man to be in her life. If it was for him, she would have been locked inside a tower with him as a guard. But he knows he can't do it no matter how much he wishes to.
He let her hang around with Peter in the kitchen because he knows that as long as she is in the kitchen, he has someone trustworthy. But he doesn't want her to be in awe of anyone. He wishes to be the only one who she is in awe towards, who saw her blush, who she becomes shy with. He will be damned if he let someone else make an image in her eyes.
He kept his eyes blank and walked inside the training field. Everybody stopped to see their king but he quickly told motioned them to continue their practices. Few seconds after he reached, around three of his best fighters surrounded him and took a fighting position. He too placed his sword securely in his hand.
One of the opponents, attacked him which he swiftly blocked with his sword. Out of the corner of his eyes, he could see his Isabella. She was looking at him with admiration. He suddenly had an amused glint in his eyes. He liked that Isabella was giving him his attention and was looking at him with something other than awe.
His eyes suddenly gleamed with amusement. His friend noticed it but didn't back off. His opponents started attacking from two directions, he noticed it and swiftly blocked their attacks. He was smoothly swinging his sword as if it was a part of his hand. They were unable to match his speed, which resulted in slipping their swords out of their hands and falling on the ground. And when they turned back, they were saved by a sword inches closed to their throats.
His opponents had long streaks of sweat on their faces while Alexander had only small beads of sweat. Everyone was in shock by watching the scene unfold. Then suddenly they heard a clapping sound. The voice was coming from a certain golden-haired girl with blue eyes.
Isabella was watching every move of Alexander. The way he moved his hands, the way he blocked. She was admiring every move of her mate. She was worried a bit for him, but when he stood straight by wining, she couldn't stop herself from clapping. Her clapping drew attention, but it also attracted the eyes of her mate.
Suddenly she was called by Peter for help in the kitchen which distracted her from the enchantment of her mate. Heat rose up to her cheeks when she suddenly saw the number of pairs of eyes on her. One of which belongs to her mate. She ducked her head and went back away from the eyes.
On her way, she felt pride that her mate was able to defeat all of them alone. She has always felt happiness and pride whenever her father or brother won a fight. But, this was different. And she could feel it.
After watching Isabella going back to the kitchen, Alexander trained his eyes back to his opponents. He didn't like they were so easily defeated against him. With a command to practice harder, he went back to change his clothes back into his royal attire.
Alexander was happy, content, and a certain feeling which he couldn't explain. His mind was now at ease seeing a happy, and something other than awe and confusion, on the face of Isabella. And, he was once again the reason for that.
With one last thought of her beauty, he decided to go back to the courtroom. After all, he has royal works to finish.
Unknown to the two love birds, someone else was too enchanted by all the money and glory Alexander has. And that someone was hell-bent on being someone important to the king. That said someone, will try his best to have it. Be it by hook or by crook.
