Chapter 59 - Strange

Ciylo stood sweating and panting in the heat. The fair skin on his face was burning rapidly and he looked around to find where he had thrown his mask. As he searched, his senses prickled and looking up he saw Agba trotting towards him, mask in hand. He calmed himself for a moment, breathing deeply and using his senses to get a handle on everything happening. He sensed Agassiz as dead and briefly mourned the loss for the suffering she had endured. Jarron was still alive, barely, and so were Evil, the young, and Rajnos, although he couldn't see any of them. He felt no fear as he watched Agba approach him and oddly didn't think he would attack him at all. Agba was not to be underestimated in any way shape or form; he seemed to always be a mile ahead of everyone. Ciylo pushed his wet hair off his forehead again and squared up, prepared for whatever Agba may throw at him. His eyes glazed slightly as Evil sent him a very clear picture of where she had apparently hidden the young and it left no question that when he was able, he was to get the child to safety.

Turned out it was only his mask. Agba tossed it at him and queerly winked and then was gone. He caught the mask and spun around in the sand searching for Agba, but didn't see him anywhere. Ciylo was alone with a number of dead bodies in the staggering heat. He spun around a few more times baffled by Agba's disappearance and then stopped as an uneasy silence fell in and around him. His first thought was to go to Evil and Rajnos and fight to the death for his female. But then a calming feeling hit him in the center of his chest instead of the searing pain he had grown accustomed to. He felt that she had herself handled and his main priority was the child. He started to put the mask on and make his way towards the jungle, but his other side had taken over completely now that he had unconsciously found his true mate and it had him twirling around to the two guards he had just killed and dropping to his knees. He grabbed the dead shoulders and ripped open the throat, drinking whatever was left and then turned to the other and repeated the action. He was desperate for a females blood; that's what he truly needed and he briefly looked at Agassiz's frail dead frame and then shook his head hard at even thinking it and stood, brushing the sand off his knees and started towards the jungle. As he made his way down the beach, Ciylo passed Jarron. His eyes were wide and white rimmed and he was well beyond saving, but for whatever reason Ciylo had the thought to see if his other side was all it was cracked up to be, seeing as it had become so dominant, that he kneeled down beside Jarron and again repeated the shoulder grab but instead of ripping his throat open and draining Jarron dry, Ciylo simply bit him in the neck. Jarron made the motion of screaming but no sound came out and as soon as Ciylo dropped him, he began to shake violently and then laid still. Ciylo cocked his head and then stood, looked around again and started to trot towards the jungle.
