We both got dressed, she helped me into my clothes, as I helped her back. I stared at myself in the dress, letting my hands smooth down the fabric along my chest to my hips. I gave a small twirl and curtsied to Jayne. "See, you look wonderful in it. We can go to get breakfast somewhere and hang out the rest of the day until we can go shopping." Jayne began on her make up, basing out her face in the pale ivory as her skin tone. It was actually lighter than her real skin tone, but matched mine perfectly. She carefully got her make up done before starting on me. I looked through her books of make up designs. She wanted me to see what I would like to have done before she made me up. Her being an aspiring cosmetologist helped her a lot in designs and being a well-rounded artist. After a while of sorting through pictures I found only a few that I liked and requested she would use them to make a totally new design just for me.
Jayne left my eyebrows in a more natural shape just darker. She made a kind of smoky eye that accentuated my eyes making them look a more vibrant green than before. I stared into her hand held mirror for what seemed to be hours and was only a minute. My eyes seemed to look like a whole new planet. After a minute of squinting and making weird faces in the mirror, Jayne stole it from my hand right away, letting her a chance to see my face up close.
"You know, I think you should really let me do this more often. Yeah?" She held her head crooked leaving a small laugh under her breath, "Stop making those faces you creep. I'm surprised you haven't actually done make up like this in that ballet crap. Like the Black Swan?"
"Not every dance is like that. Besides, I do performances only when I was young. I haven't done that in years."
"You still practice! You can sure as hell know how to do some routines I'm sure. Hey, you should show some moves at the club. That would be so cool!"
I shrugged as I lifted a strand of hair from my eyes nervously, "I, uhm, I don't think so. You don't do that at clubs."
Jayne scoffed and retrieved a box of labeled and even organized colors of lipsticks, my mind was blown with the amount of colors, "You obviously underestimate us goths. The weird and creepy things make us happy, if my best friend came in and didn't know how to dance, no one would even care. Nor bat an eye. But if my best friend came in and knew how to dance like a pro ballerina, like, on a table or something. Now, that would be freaking amazing!" Jayne sorted through colors, the box had layers that came out from it like shelves, it was Pandora's box of lipsticks. "Now I just need to find out what color looks best on you."
"Jayne, I swear if you make me wear black lipstick my mom will have a cow."
She nearly doubled over laughing hard at me. It took her a minute of sorting out shades carefully before she picked out some colors that matched the floral print on the dress I'm wearing. "What looks best?"
"I don't know yet…" Jayne sorted out ones she didn't like and tried swatches out on the back of my hand to see how it would look on my skin tone. "How about an ombre effect?"
"Not that dark, it'll look weird as hell on me. I know that, you know that, we both know that."
"You won't have that full gothic look without anything a good few shades darker than black, Lil. I'm thinking even just a dark pink? And I can definitely outline your lips in brown to showcase them even more. It'll look so cool. Then if you get just some shimmer gloss or just powdery silver dust. You need that shimmer though. Then lastly, you need that perfect highlight."
"I love you, but, you are seriously crazy." I smiled as she tried to figure out which to use on my skin. After finding a rosey color for my cheeks then a pink and silver shimmer highlight to my cheekbones, top of my cupids bow on my upper lip, and even a small line on my nose. It was weird looking at myself now all dressed up. I took a minute to actually look at my heart shaped face, seeing how it actually looked nice. My cheekbones were actually nice looking and almost camera ready. The contouring on my face brought out features I never fully noticed. I looked like a totally new person, enough that I didn't recognize myself even. I normally just use foundation and a bit of blush, some eyeliner and that's about it. I look like I transformed into a full goddess. "This is crazy. I look so different. You're amazing, Jayne."
She finished my look then placed her hands on her hips, using her nails to tap along her skin watching me. I was concerned as that same old devilish look took over and her lips curled over her teeth.
"What now?"
"Please let me straighten your hair. I'm thinking that'll be the best for this look… That or loose wavy curls, but I'm not sure yet." I watched her pull out her straightener that she can use to curl as well from a drawer while for sure trying to think of what to do with it. I gave a smile as I ran my fingers through my hair. Carefully I combed out my mess, letting her deal with the rest as she preferred to play with my tangles more than anyone should want to. It took almost another whole hour for her to finish my hair. After I told her she could do anything, just play with it. Jayne took that to heart, letting her be able to just go with the flow.
At the end of everything, she straightened most of my hair but left the rest at the ends to curl in a large three inch curl. My brown hair seemed to catch every light in the room to the parts where the dark browns faded to lighter tans. I had natural highlights in my hair that were beautiful once before when I took care of myself. I shook my hair loosely around my body as I swirled around in the middle of her room. The dress rose up and swirled around my hips caressing my curves.
"See! That dress is perfect on you! Look how long your hair looks even! You know it would be a lot prettier if you kept it out from the ponytail, or that bun."
"Jayne! You've told me like a million times. Do you really think I'll start to listen to you now? I'm used to my bun. I do my classical perfect bun for ballet. I'm used to doing it is all." I shrugged her off then made my way under her bed. I reached under and pulled out a tote that housed all of her shoes. I sorted out a few and couldn't help but to giggle at the one pair of heels in the collection. Before I could pull them out Jayne yanked them from my hands as if it was a black Friday sale on them. My squeal as I was hanging onto the shoes made her hiss at me right back.
"No way in hell you are wearing my vampire heels. Ok? Capisce? Mine!" I gave out a groan as she quickly put on the heels painted with a pair of fangs on the toe and a chunky heel that doubled as a coffin.
Again, I sorted out the shoes trying to find something that I would like and that matched the dresses style without all kinds of chains, studs, and spikes everywhere. I found a cute pair of heels with a closed toe and a back that carried up to behind the ankle and around. Attached to the buckle were a pair of bat wings that when I would hold my heels together, it looked like a pair of wings were forming out of my legs from the buckles. I put them on and gave another twirl. "Better wear these then?" It took only a minute for her to get her shoes on.
