Chapter 24 - Heading Back 2

When Elder Spear arrived at the large and luxurious tent he didn't shake in fear or fret for his life as he knew one day this would happen when Polemos killed Ellios as well as when he told the story.

'Please don't be sad Polemos it's my time anyway I'm already old and was going to die soon anyway just the date has been moved ahead. Just please don't lose that excitement you had about learning and doing new things. And don't worry I left a journal with Carl that'll explain everything as well as more of my knowledge and wisdom. Live and find your happiness Polemos, I'll be watching.

Elder Spears' last few thoughts echoed in his mind as he was called into the Second Hunting Captains tent, he smiled knowing what his end would be.

As Elder Spear walked in he saw three individuals in the tent.

One was behind a desk, he looked to be about 1.9 meters tall, short messy black hair, yellow golden eyes that held utter disdain, with an average build. He stood with his hands behind his back as he spoke with a light and pleasing smile.

"So you must be the one: Jar-."

"You're a rude one aren't ya, at least Polemos was nice enough to say hello, and put away that fake ass smile by the way, also learn to hide that look in your eye's boy it's pathetic."

Elder Spear had a warm eldery smile on his face as Alyans' face kept getting redder and uglier with every word that came out of his mouth. But Elder Spear paid it no need at all.

Hassan looked over towards Alyan as he tried to respond before he said anything but, Alyan responded quickly in an arrogant manner.

"You know what, I want you dead."

Elder Spear wasn't even fazed by Alyans arrogance.

"That's it, wow, how original, well first of all you technically can't as my life is in Jar-rolls hands unless he gave permission for 'you' to kill me and I'm pretty sure he did. Second how, and if it's something stupid like a fireball, or an earth spell, then your imagination is horrible. Third, who are the other morons, as you definitely are the new second 'Hunting Captain', who is not very smart apparently…"

Elder Spear continued until Hassan heard the fifth reason come from the elders mouth and tried to speak up. Hassan was of a stocky build, 2 meter tall man with bronze skin, with a full black beard and shaved head.

"Sir."

"I'm not a Sir, I'm an Elder even though I'm currently a slave but that doesn't matter currently, you guys suck for friends or whatever you call yourselves. I still don't even know your names yet, Polemos at least tried to hide his name but was horrible with fake names but it was easy to recognize him because of his eyes."

Hassan and Alayah's eyes twitched as the Elder spoke of Polemos again.

"Sorry Elder."

"Again, no you're not I'll be dead soon so let's get this over with and drop the niceties you're both pathetic I'm an old man dying what could you possibly do to me, I already sold my life away what else but death to embrace."

Elder Spear interrupted yet again as Alyans arrogant face was turning a shade of black and if looks were able to kill then the Elder would already be dead since the beginning.

Then a tired and airless voice came from the neighborly looking girl who was not really paying attention.

"Well if you say so Old Man." Said Alayah. She had a very nextdoor neighbor look with long black hair that reached her waist, a warm face but, her eyes were never really in focus.

"What have you guys been doing all this time, I mean this is pathetic, am I going to have to say why I'm here myself or," as he pointed towards Alyan. "The child in the middle." With a smile on his face.

Alyan finally lost it as he held up his hand as an earthen type of mana formed in his hand as he spoke, with no emotion in his voice.

"Earth Needle."

Then an object piercing flesh sounded out in the tent as an earthen needle the size of a forearm pierced and tore into Elders Spears knee as he fell forward to catch himself screaming in anguish.

"Ahhhhhhhh, Argh, hahaha, that's more like it boy but, I can still fish with one leg, this tactic is pointless. Don't let your anger cloud you at least when Polemos was-."

Alyan bellowed in rage when the Elder spoke of Polemos once again.

"STOP SPEAKING OF GHOSTS, HE NO LONGER EXISTS YOU SENILE OLD SHIT!!!!!!"

Elder Spear groaned out while holding his leg as he replied to the furious Alyan.

"Now that's some anger there boy but, this would have been a lot easier if you introduced yourself as I definitely don't know your names but, definitely know why Polemos killed Ellios, y'all dumb or something as this took awhile, I'm pretty sure that more than half the tribe has heard about what has happened, slaves talk guys."

Elder Spear ignored Alyans anger as he fell to a seated position and knew he was already dying and going to die soon anyway. But when Elder Spear looked up from the ground from his seated position he was a little surprised by all their reactions.

Alyan, Ashern, Alayah, and Hassan all had shocked expressions on their faces when Elder Spear spoke about when Polemos killed Ellios and when he said slaves talk.

"What have you stupid children done to even get to this position in the tribe, it definitely wasn't for smarts apparently as you had no idea about the tribe's gossip at all as some of the stories have definitely changed from the original. I mean I'm the original story teller anyway. Elder Spear, by the way."

Elder Spear just shook his head as his body started to shake, his face started to pale, and grit his teeth in pain.

'They at least could have made this go quicker, Gods I wish I was fishing.'

Elder Spear sighed in his head and sat with one and a half legs.

Alyan, Hassan, and Alayah had a very dark expression on all their faces as Elder Spear spoke about Polemos, who was supposed to be dead, was being talked about by more than half the tribe.

Alyan spoke with a voice that could melt steel, and spoke towards Ashern.

"Kill this slave and then I want to know anything and everything about this Devil regardless if it's true or not, now." Then spoke towards Alayah. "We need to continue to find other paths of revenue as Resam and Nesam are obviously dead, and we no longer have that money, we need another path." Then finally looked over towards Hassan. "You need to go out and do what I put you in charge of as a SCOUT! And find him and then when you do follow and when his guard is down kill him if you can, or just report back with anything you're able to find."

All three even Ashern responded the same as they were able to feel the anger and blood in Alyans voice.

"Yes."

"Yes."

"Yes."

Alyan then spoke again with no change.

"Then get it done."

"Coward." Replied Elder Spear.

Hassan spoke with a flat voice. "Those, your last words, Elder Spear?"

"No." As he looked at the Second Hunting Captain, with mockery.

"Sorry I did lie, I know who you are Alyan but, at least when you take someone's life, do it yourself you craven bastard!"

Elder Spear, still doing what he was always doing even as he was currently about to die. Tried giving out knowledge.

Alyan spoke in fury.

"It would be beneath me to even do such a thing to you, a pathetic slave. Why isn't he dead yet, Ashern I meant quickly!"

"Yes." Replied Ashern

"Again sorry Elder Spear."

Hassan looked at Elder Spear with no emotion as he watched as Ashern pulled out a dagger.

"Again no you are not, just get this over with but I appreciate that you at least remembered my name. Hassan."

Elder Spear spoke with a small smile on his elderly face as Asherns dagger slit his throat.

The night Polemos hunt was ending, he was staring out towards the massive golden-silver dunes across the desert in wonder. Then turned his head towards the two moons in the sky as he had, a pondering and a concentrated expression was on his face.

Polemos had gone through some changes throughout his hunt. His strength had increased another stage as he reached the True Acolyte seventh stage and was able to Mana wash his bones successfully at the seventh stage as it might have killed him at the last stage hence the intense pain.

His spells had a complete overhaul thanks to his understanding increasing along with his Mana Stage. All thanks to the first grenade Carl gave him, that Mana Technique he was able to produce some great 'science experiments'. His common fireball and earthen spire spells even reached the Skilled level in strength while his 'science experiment' spells reached the Proficient level.

Polemos even saw his mastery with his axe reaching the Skilled level but was unable to get it further, as his throwing harpoon even reached the Proficient level, he was having a little trouble reaching the Skilled level as he had no real technique book to truly increase his mastery over the throwing harpoon.

Polemos had filled both his rings and necklace as much as he could with scales and the claws of whatever monster or beast he thought would be good for armor as there were more than three Elite Monster nests around their camp.

Rose was fast asleep as she was able to increase her strength, just by not that much, as since she is a Special Elite Beast, she wasn't able to get that much stronger. The strongest nests had Elite Monsters or Beasts from a fifth to eight stage. While there was little to any Special Elites Rose could fight.

Polemos sighed a sad sigh as he was going to miss the desert, as he was heading back to the tribe in the morning after his daily morning training.

"Ahhhh, I wonder what things changed in the tribe. Well I'll find out in the morning anyway. Besides, someone has been looking at us from afar these past few days, and was even a little cautious, good for him but, I have Rose to thank for that otherwise that might have been ugly."

Polemos chuckled lightly as he walked over towards Rose as he was heading to bed while atop her head.
