"Crunch, Snap!"
A crunch and a sickening snap soon followed by the cracklings of Polemos's camp fire followed by a horse's whinny after what felt like a while.
"Gods, that was actually really horrible I mean for them I'm sure it was horrible and well even for me also as nothing I had thought of or planned for actually happened. Damn I guess that's why they say that we humans are very odd creatures."
Polemos had a disappointed expression on his face as he shook his head as he looked over at Nesams horse as its whinny broke Polemos from his dissatisfaction of how things played out.
Polemos then walked over towards Nesams body as he put his foot on the back of his head and pulled out his harpoon, as blood splashed over his pants.
"You know, screw it, I'll get new stuff when I get back to the tribe. I'm out here training who the hell cares what I look like anyway. Hey Rose can you help, never mind you're preoccupied so never mind then."
Polemos was a little upset that blood got on his harem pants but then decided that it didn't really matter, and when he tried to ask Rose to take care of the horse he noticed that Rose had already killed the other horse and made yet another pool of blood dying the sand red.
"Well that works plus I also noticed that they weren't carrying any bags and I didn't see anything on the horses either. So do they have what looks like a necklace or is it just a plain spatial ring. Hoo Ray. Please don't be a damn ring, please don't be a damn ring…"
Polemos started to chant near the end as he really didn't want a stupid ring as it was something always used in every book or novel he read. Even if they both had a ring Polemos would begrudgingly still take them as they're now both dead but, he had an idea that if a necklace can be used and no one makes them, well then he will.
But sadly Polemos never got what he wished for as it looks like his bad luck did follow him from his last life.
"Well would you look at that it's a damned ring, whichever God is watching this are you happy, laughing, mocking, whatever it is I hope you enjoy it. Because if I somehow one day figure out who you are."
Polemos got quiet, took a deep breath and then he slowly released it. As, a firm and ominous sound came from his throat and spoke with a devil-like pride.
"Wait till I come knocking, you'll wish I hadn't."
Polemos threw the ring from Nesams finger into his necklace as he walked over to grab both halves of Resam as well as put his ring into his necklace. He still needed to burn both bodies and gather their ashes so Polemos was in for a long night. When Polemos was able to get Resam to a spot that was good he set him a flame first.
"Still also need to burn the damn horses too unless Rose decides to eat them as I didn't even need to ask for her to take care of Nesams horse. Well I should see if I can look at what is inside the rings I guess, hope they have a little more space."
Polemos then pulled out one of the rings he couldn't remember which was whoms original as the rings were the same as they were twins. Then he also remembered something else about spatial rings.
"Shit please don't be empty, don't do that please."
It got quiet for a small second.
Then it got loud.
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!"
"That felt refreshing at least it has stuff in it and has more space than my necklace. But they didn't really bring all that much, what the hell were they doing then, should have let Nesam live a little longer, nah what's done is done, and they might have some information in the rings, maybe."
Polemos then pulled out anything that might give a clue but was unable to find anything in Resams ring besides a journal. But Polemos was surprised that Resam seemed to have five gold coins worth of silver, an individual tent, and mostly a lot of clothes.
"Why the hell does he have 5,250 silver coins but hey it's mine now so, thanks for the gifts of silver and clothes I guess and hopefully a good read if not, your words will be great fire starters."
Polemos then started to watch Resams body burn away into ash.
Polemos realized that he was a little bored so he started to read Resams' journal while his body burned.
It only took Polemos a single glance as he was definitely going to burn the pages as it was all useless junk with nothing important except telling him why he had all that damn silver.
'So they both deal in slavery I get why people did it but, really I guess things really don't change and from everything I've experienced so far then this is probably worse near the top and shit I'm not gonna be happy with.'
Polemos didn't even save the journal as he threw it directly into the fire. As Polemos just watched adding more things to his ever expanding journal, then took out Nesams spatial ring.
He wasn't surprised as he saw three gold coins worth of silver as he was starting to get a little annoyed, then saw something that made his mood cheer, then back to anger as he saw another journal, except when he saw the journal he had a bad feeling along with his anger.
"Good it looks like he was the smart one, Nesam? Right yeah I'm sure that's right, so it was only a small scouting mission to just gather information about the nest well that explains why they had little supplies and rations even. But hey at least I got some nice blood money and two damned rings, right."
Polemos sighed again as he knew people could be even more evil and monstrous then the demons or monsters they described. Then did something he wished he hadn't. As he was proven right again but this time he felt a fury like anger build underneath his disappointment, wanting to take it over.
Polemos was disappointed as Elder Spear was right as there will always be evil as there will be good, as it was the same in his last life anyway, just without Mana.
"If there's a God of Slavery in this world I hope people hate you as I've joined the group, I don't care anymore, when I get back no more slave trade, I don't care what anyone says. No one and I mean no one has the right to do that ever, God or not, I'll fuckin end you."
Polemos stomped his right foot hard onto the sand as he cursed but was then surprised when he saw a wave flow across the sand and the area around his foot rumbled and cracked slightly.
"Well even Diana herself agrees with my anger, Gods, that sounds so bad but hey it's a start, I'll call it Diana's Fury."
Polemos shook his head as he threw Nesams journal into the fire also, then heard a worried hiss come from behind him.
"Hissss?"
As a pair of antennae clumsy tried to pat Polemos on his head as a smile started to form on his face.
"Thank you Rose, I'm no longer angry anymore and I'm sorry if I worried you just, I'll know I'll be seen as evil, demonic, or hell even a devil but, not even Gods have the right. Want to join Rose?" Polemos asked as he started to embrace Rose's head as she hissed in response.
"Hiss."
"Thank you Rose, when this is all over I'll make our dinner but I'm going to sleep shortly after as I feel fatigued, and tired so just let me finish with this then I'll get on dinner."
Polemos smiled as he talked to Rose and released his embrace of her head and fired a fireball towards Nesams body as it caught fire and started to burn.
As Polemos waited, he sat on the sand as he looked at both fires.
As Polemos started to plan for what he was going to do for the rest of his hunt. As he was going to be gone for 3-4 weeks he had plenty to go around and temper himself and build up his foundation.
When Resams body was finally done Polemos gathered his ashes into an urn as he waited shortly for Nesams body to do the same.
"Well there are two more to add to the chest, three more to go and we'll meet each other soon, I can feel it but, first I'm taking out the slave trade in the tribe then I'll take out the last three of his followers, then Alyan you'll wish I really was killed that day. I've already determined how to end you and you'll make for a glorious sight. And my last farewell from the tribe."
Polemos then gathered Nesams ashes, and put them in another urn. Then put it with his brother's ashes in the same ring, then walked over to make a feast.
