"HAROLD!"
That loud growl broke Ruth's concentration, and she blinked. Harold felt like falling to his knees as if his body was released after stretching it too far.
He needed some moments to register that growl, but Ruth's sharp mind had it recognised instantly.
She quickly held Harold's hands which were slowly slipping from her face and hair.
"P-please Mr Davies! Please let me go, please! I beg you!!" She cried pooling tears in her hazel eyes.
The same eyes that held that promise of danger were now filled with panic and fear. The face that radiated boldness a second ago looked fear-stricken and innocent.
Her demeanour changed within a split of a second, leaving Harold more confused than before.
Ruth cried again loudly, holding Harold's hands firmly on her face and hair.
"Wh-"
Harold had barely opened his mouth when a forceful punch landed on his side and his eyes bulge out of his skull at the impact.
