Rebecca walked elegantly into her office. Her outfit made her look beautiful and poised. After settling down for a while, she started sorting out some scripts for her blockbuster movie 'FATED'. It was basically a novel written by her which earned her millions of readers.
All her fans know is that Becca J is the author of the book though don't know how she looks like as she never dropped any photos. She had used the name to publish a few novels even before she graduated, achieving great success. One of her novels was even adapted into a movie by a world class director. She hadn't yet gone public, she just preferred to keep a low profile for sometime. This time Rebecca was personally here so that the show would not deviate too much from the original novel.
She just signed a contract as a screenwriter at McClain Entertainment few months back. She graduated from the University of Texas with MFA in Screenwriting, a few months ago. So precisely, this was the first firm she'll be working with.
She took her pen and started scribbling down something on a notebook, like a brand new idea struck her and she was scared it might disappear.
Just then Mr Donald walked in. He was the director of the movie. He threw a cursory glance at her.
' good morning Miss Rebecca' he greeted.
' Morning Director Donald' she replied
' you look just as breathtaking as ever' he complimented sitting on the couch
' Thank you Donald' she replied putting down the scripts on her table and getting up
' I was about coming down to your office. In respect to what we discussed last week.' she added sitting opposite him.
' yeah. That's why I'm here. She'll be here at 12pm today. I'll let you know once she arrives. I know you'll like her.' he said confidently.
' I hope so. I'm going for this because I trust your choice. You will only recommend the perfect person for the job' Rebecca said
' Thank you. And consider yourself hiring a PA today.' he said getting up
' Thank you so much Donald' she said getting up as well
' you're welcome' he said finally walking out of her office.

few hours later
' so how do you feel, working with me?' Rebecca asked Courtney, her soon to be PA.
' I feel elated. You won't be disappointed ma'am' Courtney said to Rebecca
' you got the job' Rebecca said to her
' thank you ma'am. I promise you won't regret this'
' you may call me Miss Becca' Rebecca said to her
' yes ma'am... Miss Becca' Courtney replied
' is it okay for me to begin today?' she asked
' of course, it's okay. I'll brief you on what's necessary. Come with me.' Rebecca answered getting up, Courtney followed.

' ma'am, I mean Miss Becca, I'm done sorting out the scripts.' Courtney said handing out the scripts to Rebecca.
' oh! you're pretty fast. Pretty impressed on your first assignment' Rebecca replied going through what she had done.
' thanks Miss Becca ' Courtney said
' the audition for the movie starts tomorrow. And since the script is all set, I think I'm done here' she said getting up and picking up her bag.
' yes Miss Becca' Courtney replied
Then she walked towards the elevator, Courtney walking behind her. She got in and tapped on the button, to the ground floor.
She walked towards the parking lot and was about to get into her car when she sighted a familiar figure
' God! What is Raymond doing here? ' she asked herself
Courtney was just beside her.
Raymond walked up to her. He looked so disheveled and disorganized. Seemed the whole breakup thing didn't go down well with him.
' Rebecca ' he called
' Miss Becca, do you know him? Or should I call security? ' Courtney asked
' That won't be necessary. You can get going now' Rebecca said
' are you sure Miss Becca '
' yeah, I'll see you tomorrow' Becca said waving her off.
and so Courtney got into her car and drove off
' what are you doing here, Raymond?' Rebecca asked, feeling this unusual anger towards him, she didn't believe he would show his face to her after what happened just a few hours ago
' do you despise me so much that you don't even want to see me?' Raymond asked
' please, I'm getting late for a meeting. Go straight to the reason you're here'
' whatever happened to us, Becca? ' Raymond asked
' look, if that's what you came to talk about then you're wasting your time. Because I'm not gonna come back to you' she said holding her forehead and scoffed
' I can't believe you've got the guts to show your face to me after what you did. I literally caught you making out with a lady in your apartment, JUST YESTERDAY' she said laying emphasis on the just yesterday
' look, Becca I'm sorry. I didn't mean to do that' he tried to explain
' If you say that one more time, I'll be tempted to break your jaw. You played with my feelings Raymond, admit it.'
' you know what, I've not got time for this right now.' she said trying to get into her car when she felt Raymond's hand on her arm
' if you by any means lay your filthy hands on me again, I'll file a restraining order against you... Go work on yourself Raymond, there's still much work to do.' she finally said getting into her car, then she drove off.
Raymond just stood there, speechless. Here he was, thinking she'd give him a listening ear, sadly he was wrong.
He shook his head in disbelief as he walked towards his car.

'Hey Lydia, I'm on my way. I'll be there in 30 minutes' Becca said over the phone
' alright, see you there then.' Lydia said hanging up.
Lydia was her close friend and course mate in college. They used to do almost everything together, they went to classes and did projects together.
Sadly, her parents had plans for her immediately she graduated from college. She had gotten married right after her graduation which was a few months back and they haven't seen each other since then.

It was nearly six that evening by the time they said their goodbyes.
During the time they spent together, they gossiped about men in general. That was when Rebecca got to know that the marriage between Lydia and her husband was an arranged marriage by the both families.
As at then, Lydia only told her she was getting married. But she never mentioned her family being the sole reason for her choice.
But by the sound of things, Lydia seemed smitten by her husband. Her cheeks blushed pink each time she mentioned his name.
Rebecca felt really good knowing that Lydia was being treated well by her husband. Sadly kinda, to the contrast she was officially single. Well she's okay with that. It's not like she cares about it anyway.
Then they chatted about work and it was also nice knowing that Lydia was fulfilling her dreams as a Screenwriter.
They finally said their goodbyes and drove off to their respective destinations.
